Summer Pursuit Opener

I stayed home yesterday on the summer pursuit opener and painted on the house and got a few honey-do things done. However, I got weak today and loaded five hounds and went looking for bear....

The four dogs on top bumped a couple times and then around 6:30 AM they hit the chain with a roar. I looked the road over good but couldn't find a track and could see the breeze was coming off a little ridge above me, so I turned out my two redbones and the pup right in behind them. After they made a couple hundred yards I cut my two four year olds loose and away they went.

I jumped in my truck and backtrailed a half mile and could here them cold trailing several hundred yards below me, so I went to see what they had. Those hounds were in an old burn and the sow track was easy to see so I let'em run.

A few miles later they were all five on the wood and all was left was the climb into the tree and the photo session.
