Sounds like your luck is running about like mine. Between this heat and my physical limitations things have been getting done pretty slow around here. I am so far behind than where I planned on it's not even funny. O well got to put all that on hold soon as the weather gets cooler. Got to get Kitty ready for the Zones but it's got to get cooler so I don't kill her. She's not in shape to run in this heat. If I could have hunted her through the summer I think she would have been fine but without the pups she would have came in, in the middle of the World like Daisy did last year. O well trade of one thing for another.

Steve, never seen it so hot as this summer here,looking for cooler weather to come got some young dogs being hunted because I couldnt get out but things are looking up here.

Hope you get Kitty ready for the World hope to see one another there !!!

The Sis female we got back off Light'in Xs Queen is showing some great things she is starting to tree now & has a great mouth on her Ed told me she was as loud as Tuba was I heard she was really loud & is going to tree just like FRED

Hey good to hear from you glad your getting around good now I know its tuff to be laid up, things are getting better on this end now Josh is doing alot of things before winter hits trust me after Labor Day ol man winter is just around the cornor.

It has cooled down here a BUNCH never seen so much hot weather u should come out while your not doing anything. would be a great time for Duke bet u in a week or two he would be about on top of the world with all the coons we have now we have more than I have ever seen in 47 yrs. here.I might have traveled over a million miles on these back roads & NEVER have I seen so many coons out on them we take a drive about everynight to see how many we can look at,all my dogs are off somewhere else rite now so just killing time.

Well I finally made a run last night. It fell below 95, first time in over a month, for a high so that was a big cool spell compared to the 110 + we have been having. Took Kitty out and they had to go over a mile to get struck. Took my Twister pup with her and he never missed a beat. Struck in and kept trailing right with her. This was the first time I've been out at all in about 2 months. So Twisted Sister hasn't been out either. Moved where I am now I'm going to be hunting at least 4 or 5 nights a week going into the Zone and World Hunts. However, got to take it easy on them until this heat breaks. I'm back up to the 110's again today.

Just got back

from Taxidermy school. Learned all the new techniques and had a good time. Got to hunt the dogs on the weekends and showed a couple fellow students their first bears. I'll be coming thru after August 31st and before Sep. 14th. Going catfishing in Kentucky with Redboneman II for a few days before the bear season starts and will be giving the dogs some much needed rest. I'll bring the bear rug with me. Hope everything is going good for you. Here's a pic of the rug finally. He was 4 years old dressed out at 430# and is tied for 35th of all time in the books.

Sounds great wish you could stay a few days while you were down this way. Maybe you can come back this way before to long we live rite on a big lake pretty good fishing & theres another lake about 7-10 miles from me also come back & we will wet a hook or too.

Hi Eddie

A week or so I'll be on my way down. Its another good yeay chasing bears. Lost one to cancer last week. Thats 3 real good dogs lost this year. Then with 3 good females in heat the first couple weeks and the old dogs slowing down and the young ones were not ready to take over yet it became quite interesting. The Kid Rock dog we got from Steve Bell turned the corner and has become a outstanding bearhound. Taxidermy school was OK and I did learn new techniques and can quicken up the time it takes to get mounts returned to people. I've got so much to do I'm not taking anything in for right now. I'm redoing my workshop completely and trying to turn the basement into a studio for all the mounts. I hope things are going better for you healthwise and you can enjoy the dogs some more. We will see you soon and take care my friend. Heres a couple pics, the one is a perch mounted to a northern head. The pic of the bear and white deer was at the school. The treed bear is one Kid Rock treed.
