The Misty River Line
The picture above is "PR" Misty River Blue Sheba 11. Her sire is Ch.Grand Nite Ch."PR" Goodson's Rowdy Bocephus. Her mother is Gr.Nite Ch. Gr.Ch."PR" Misty river blue Sheba. Sheba 11 ran and treed a coon out of a corn field the first night out alone and has been doing it steady ever since. She is 18 months old now and I hunt her and expect as much out of her as I do my old dogs. She has a great mouth on her. She opens good on track and when the coon climbs everyone knows it. I will tell about Doll V next.
Next the rest of the story.
Beautiful hounds, and Great stories Mr. Jack!

The Misty River Line
The picture above is "PR" Misty River Blue Doll V. Her sire is Gr.Ch.Gr.Nite Ch."PR"Smokey River Jeans Blue Tramp and her dam is Ch.Nite Ch."PR"Misty River Blue Doll 1V. She is a litter mate sister to Tramp 11. She has a good nose
and a good mouth and we tree coons with her night after night, alone and in company and she will do her part and more. Chris has her at his house right now working a puppy with her. We will be breeding her when she comes in, I'm not sure what to yet.
Ch.Nite Ch."PR"Smoke River Blue Tramp 11
The Misty River Line
Now we come down to the last one, well I hope not the last one, but the last one for now. The picture above Is Ch.Gr.nite Ch."PR"Smokey River Blue Tramp 11. Tramp stands on the tree most of the time, but he will tree just as hard standing on the ground as he does up on the tree. Tramp don't like for me to brag on him, he says when I brag on him he has to back it up, so I won't. If you have been following this thread, you can see that Tramp is from a long line of family bred hounds. I crossed out some, but usually stayed within the same line of dogs. The only time I really crossed out was when I bred ole Tramp to the ole Doll female and that was probably the best cross that I ever made. They really complimented one another. The mouth, nose and speed was better. Tramp 11 finished to Nite Ch. with 3 first place wins and to bench champion with 3 best of shows. He made Grand Nite as a 2 year old. That's not a record, but not bad.
Just my opinion but I'd consider bo Dotson smokey hound to breed ur doll female to,I don't own a hair on him but is number 2 on the repo list and is smokey river bred with tramp on topside.he's throwing some nice hounds out of different females.I realy like the looks of tramp ll and doll lv.

BIG Bawl mouth that carries a long ways, Clean tree hound with no chewing or jacking and stays put and very accurate. The one thing that impresses me the most above all other things is his trailing ability. He can take a bad track and open just right and move it out and get treed with a coon seen at the end. The SAME coon he was trailing. Not one that he just stumbled across. This hound has a great nose and knows how to use it. There are some good hounds in our breed but this hound will hold his on with any of them and get his share. Top notch hound and a Top notch Man.

The Misty River Line
From the top picture above with me and Ruby to the bottom picture with me and Tramp 11. It was a wonderful journey and I enjoyed every dog that you have seen. A lot of people have asked me which one was my best. And to that question I always replied. They are kind of like my kids. You don't love one more than you do the other. Each one has its own place in my heart. I would like to thank every one that read and enjoyed these stories and to the ones that came on and commented on these dogs, Thank you very much. I would like to thank everyone that helped me along the way, and there were many. I would like to thank them all personally and shake their hand, but that would be impossible, a lot of them are gone now. I'll catch up with them a little later. I would like to name all of them, but I would leave too many of them out, but there are three of them that I would like to thank. Mr. J.W. Williamson of Monticello, Ms..He is one of those that I will have to catch up with later, but he knew how I felt about him. The next is Mr. Jeremy Purvis of Bassfield, Ms. There is no way that Icould ever repay Jeremy for all that he has done for me. The next is Chris Fortenberry, Chris has only been with me for about a year or so now, but he has helped me in a lot of ways. These bluetick hounds have served me well. They have done everything I have ever asked of them and more. Just about every one that I call friend today I met through these hounds. Good hunting,-----------Jack
Awesome

Tramp
Tramp
Although The wind was blowing hard and threatening rain. I loaded Tramp up and took him out for a short run. It got to sprinkling rain on us before we got to the woods and I began to wonder if this was such a good idea. I knew that if he got deep that I wouldn't be able to hear him, but as luck would have it, he struck at about 100 yrds and treed about 100 yrds deeper. I walked in to him and he was treed
up this Iron wood tree and it went over into a large oak that went up a ways and Y'd off and made two trees.I backed off across a branch to get to where I could see better and reached for my squaller and found out that I had left it at the house. I shined for a few minutes and didn't see anything so we walked back to the 4-wheeler and called it a night.
Thanks Chris and Tommy for the good words, glad that you enjoyed the stories. I sure enjoyed the journey.
The Journey
Mr. Jack,
Thank you for sharing the story on the Misty River line with those of us that are interested in this line of dogs. It has been obvious to me that when you breed coon dog to coon dog and give them a ride to the woods your chances of success improve significantly. I think we all have our philosophy on how to breed dogs and what may or may not work but unless you take them to the woods they are never given a chance. You surely have given a lot of them a chance and have allowed for this line to flourish and the Bluetick breed is stronger because of it.
Thank You,
Scott
PS. I am sure glad the Journey is not over and there will be more good things to come.

Tramp Pups
for those that are looking for a Tramp pup. Mr. Randy Rhodes or Ark. Has bred his female to Tramp, for more information call 501-940-3104. And also Mr. Jerry Bolden of Tenn. has bred his female to Tramp, for more information call 615-633-7437.
Gin and her litter
Gin and her litter
Tramp 11 and Gin pups
The two pictures above are of Gin and her litter of pups off Tramp 11. The bottom picture, Gin didn't like where I moved the pups so she started moving them back. Gin has proven to be a wonderful mother. She had one pup that was born dead and she almost made me cry, watching her trying to revive the pup. She licked it and nudged it for several minutes until I could not stand it anymore and took it away from her. After I took it away she acted like she under stood and went back to caring for the other pups. She has 1 male and 4 females and they are doing fine. They were born Easter Sunday.
Tramp ll x Gin
Beautifull litter. Good luck with them.

It was a joy to meet you when I was in Mississippi in a revival. Thanks for your kind hospitality. I am amazed, and thankful for what you are doing with these dogs. I don't regret selling Tramp when he was young. If I had kept him, he would have been just another dog behind the barn. A lot of people are enjoying these hounds, and that is a good thing. I wish I had drawn semen on Smokey River Spud. The thought never crossed my mind back then. Not many people used semen, back then, to breed hounds. I wish you the best with your dogs. God bless!!!!
