We are hoping to get into some fine hunting and meet a few good Blue men, may even tell a few good ones! Hell you never know even a blind squirrel will find an acorn once in a Blue moon!

Well it is 4:15AM and we just got home from Mt. Washington / Bullitt County coon hunters ZONE 5 Bluetick Sectional. Riptide was a double cast winner and won the King of the hunt, King of Show and high scoring dog for both nights combined. The club put on a very good hunt with good fellowship, plenty of coons, good guides / judges and Good Foods! Would like to give a special thanks to Earnest Sparks as he guided the Grand Night cast both nights and put us in good hunting along with coons! The trip was even better when were talking to a few hunters up there and they were talking about a pretty tough Bitch up in that area, come to find out it was a Night Champion litter mate to Riptide. We did accomplish one more good thing, we converted Ernest Sparks from Walkers to Blueticks, he even wanted his picture taken showing Riptide, so here are a few good ones -----

Ernest Sparks: Was converted over to Blue dogs after the Friday night hunt, used to Hunt Walkers! He just had to Show Riptide, what a lucky man! LOL!

Earnest Sparks: This man is like a one man band, he can cook, guide, judge, show Blue Dogs and blow smoke with the best of them!

The one last thing is Butch Glass is going to post these pictures Earnest ( Showing a Blue Dog ) all over the Blue Grass State for all other Fellow Bluetick men to see! Sleep good Earnest!

Thanks guys, I know both Tide and us will give it our all but not sure how he will act if he gets in coons like we here they have. It will be fun anyhow to just to see and hunt in a place like that! Got three nights to get lucky.

Gauge and Robin pup 3 1/3 monhts

Took Hanna on her first expedition. We took Riptide along for the ride! LOL! First dump Riptide hit about 150 yards from and was driving a track, ran it within 75 yards of us and caught it in a slew. We hurried in there and right before we got there Hanna was diving in and barking bay at it and thought she needed some of that action. I had Corey get her on a leash as it was more than Riptide could handle and did not want her ate up. It got away from riptide and ran up a tree about 20 yards from us, she got up on the tree and worked around on the ground but did not bark. She is very bold and not afraid of anything, not bad acting for 3 1/2 months old. We ill give her another month or two! LOL! We called it a night early as Riptide ear was a mess and slinging blood everywhere.

She is well on her way Im glad you guys got her. Sounds like she was wanting some of that coon. She's way too little but she dont know it. LOL

Roy believe me she has all the grit you want in a pup. From my experience most females are not that aggressive that young. She catches on real quick on more than one thing. LOL!

Thanks Terry but looks are secondary! We were looking a good breed female that was out of a real good bitch and that was Super Staked. I feel a male has to do his job but the mother has a whole lot of say in what they are going to be like later on in life! Breeding is a good point but breeding / good bitch is just a little extra! I know still as hard headed as ever! LOL!

Weather is stinking! Hope to get a break to hit it a few more nights prior to Bluetick days. Tide should be ready like to always take the edge off of them prior to traveling! Things are really get green here, should see some kittens any time now.

Terry all we can hope for is good hunting and having a good hunt. At times that is hard but we are talking Blue hunters, they always seem to be a more relaxed bunch! LOL! Forecast is for rain and more rain! Hope they are wrong!

Well we are cutting out first thing in the morning so we can get up to Bluetick days a little early and take a fun hunt to get the old boy stretched out and ready for a tough three nights.

Hunted the Invitational last night and no luck. We did manage to mustard up three coons but did not win the cast. First dump we hunted 45 minutes with out a coon track or tree being ran and made. One treed a grey one but it got him scratched. Next dump we treed one pretty quick, Turn loose again and had first and first only to run about 400 yards into a push up pile. Third dump tuned loose and made one tree with a coon and one caught one by an old hog barn but it made it too a old truck and could not get to see it. Last dump made another tree with a coon, hunt over. Cast winner had 500 plus. Two more nights so who knows!

Well Friday night for us was not much better than Thursday night. I believe the cast winner had 487 1/2 plus but there were way to many minus points. Riptide sure did not have a stealer night and that is saying it mildly! The one positive thing was we did not have to go far to hunt and had a good guide that tried to put them coons. One more night to try our luck!

The first thing I would like to say is that I thought the club did a great good putting on the hunt! Meet a large group of Blue mean for the first time and learned a lot! Now our Sat night hunt we did not do any good but was not to the fault of Riptide or his handler. Drew a guide that hunted the other color and he had some real issues. Took us where your hound could not go more than a couple hundred and I mean a couple hundred yards with out being on posted land, on a highway and having to call time out because his hound was not there. A real gentleman from Iowa had to go catch his hound out on highway just like another Blue owner did the night before in the same spot. His one and only goal was to be high English, sorry but we did not with draw and stayed to see him minus out. He had no sportsmanship what so ever. Treed a coon but he has bad eye sight, Treed a sow and two kittens with 12 minutes to go but the guide never returned from trying to catch his hound so we could score the tree, what a true sportsman! Could not catch his dog and had a Garmin and two collars on his hound but from the way the night went I'm not sure he even knew how to use them. We will send him and invitation next year so he can TRY for high scoring English again and so I can LMAO!!!

We took Riptide and Hanna out tonight made 3 dump treed 2 dens and 1 on the outside. Hanna for just turning 4 months old on the 18th and the 2nd time ever out sure impressed us she went with Riptide every stride tonight and never seen her unless she was sitting at the tree. Here are a few pics of her on the garmin. And 1 pic of at the tree. She aint treeing yet but she stretches up on the tree and checks it out its just a matter of time.

Thats just how Hannas moma started. Robin started at 4 months old also. Id say I need to get my male and female in the woods. LOL
