Thanks Randall!
I'm still breeding Crockett for a pup, to coon treeing females.
I haven't bred any Rat or Coma bred females to him but the line bred crosses on Sackett Jr have worked very well.
I'd really like to get your female bred to Crockett and see how the Coma blood would work with him.
I had a Coma X Wipeout female scheduled a few weeks ago but she started in heat and went out within a few days. Hopefully we'll breed her next round.
Let me know if I can help and thanks for your interest in Crockett.

man doug... I really love my

Diamond pup by Milo.
He is sharp as a tack. I expect big things from him.
He is going to mark Diamond as a reproducer.
I hope you try and give that half bro. half sister cross on Crockett.
I think that will be a dynamite cross.
what have been your thoughts as to what you were going to breed her to? I really like this cord breeding. wish I had added it to my stuff sooner.
Good luck with her.

cripple creek, I don't know which male you got from Brian but both were extra sharp looking pups. Couldn't go wrong with either one in my opinion.

I have to say that I'm a little unsure about making a 3/4 brother and sister cross, but as with any cross, you never know until you do it. There are lots of pros and cons. However, the deal I made with Brian was to bred her to Crockett or possibly one of his pups so that's what will be done. My plan is to skip her next cycle and bred her next winter.
I haven't hunted her yet, I want to see how she matches up with Crockett in the woods.

cool....

yea a son would work out or should at least.
I got the perfect colored one that matches on both sides.
He is sharp as a tack man. He is riding the 4 wheeler all ready and when I pull up to the pen and let him out, he heads to the 4 wheeler and tries to climb up on it. He is just 8 weeks old.
He had a stand off with the baddest house cat you ever seen today!!! He didnt back up but didnt go in. He has a ton of grit. I heard that cord dogs had lots of grit and bottom to um.

Ive got a rope toy and he will shake that thing like a coon and will not let you pull it from him.
He is going to be bad to the bone. If he makes it, I plan on breeding him to my main female next year just to get pups on the ground and see if he will reproduce.

I know that at 8 weeks old its just dog talk, but I have been around coonhound pups for 48 years and raised so many litters, I have lost count and he is right up there with the best I have raised at 8 weeks old.

I tried to help Brian sell these pups and he still has 4 left, but folks are missing the boat big time I believe. I knew when he made that cross it should really turn out and I can tell it did.

My hunting buddies better go to the bank and start the loan process cause this one is going to make them sick and I expect some offers real soon. haha

Ill post some pics on here for ya soon.
again, good luck with diamond. I think she really did her part on throwing these pups. I really believe in the females dna and genetic marking of pups.

Sounds like a super nice pup.
Most (not all) of the Cord dogs and Sackett Jr Son dogs I've been around have had one thing that I have to have in a dog...BRAINS.
I hate a dog that won't look you in the eye. I guess that's one of the reasons I have Crockett at stud. He's one of the smartest hounds I've ever been around. A smart dog is far more trainable and less headaches.

amen brother.....

thats my starting point of every cross I have ever made. A good dog man can look into a dogs eyes and see intelligence.
Ive never had to wait on a single pup from any litter I have ever raised to start treeing after 7 months old. Most start right around 5 to 6 months. It all starts with smarts. You can start seeing it around 8 weeks old if you know what to look for. they start using cognitive thinking and figure out things.
I have a pretty tall deck about 4 feet on the back and have steps that go down. he figured out that it was too tall around step two going down to jump off so he started sliding his whole body about half way to the ground before he jumps.
He has already figured out how to climb up on the four wheeler. He loves it. 8 weeks old and loves a four wheeler. thats just not normal.
He is a unigue pup for sure.
they were target shooting out behind brians the day I picked him up and the whole litter was snoozing in the pen and never flinched. a couple were chewing on each others ears and pistol shots were firing off and on for over 30 minutes.
got the gun shyness over with already. haha I am one up on most folks with pups right there.

bump for crockett.
Doug this female pup I got seems to be coming on good but I think she may be better off in the hands of someone who can give her more time in the woods. My work did not go as planned and I am not getting much time off to be able to hunt like I planned.

The pup posted by Ky Chris is out of Crockett and the Buggs female. She is almost all Yadkin River bred out of Rob Gregory's dogs with a shot of Sackett Jr.
She was my stud fee pup and ran loose here until Chris bought her. I've heard some good reports on her littermates, Rob knows where most of them are at if you want more info on them, his number is on page 1.
She's well worth a look if you want a pup ready to start.

Chris has a post on here with his phone number, or contact me.

kotapper or doug

both you guys have outstanding females...yall need to look at the direct son of Ol Spring Creek Radar semen for sale on the walker board.
I am telling yall. Radar threw the best dogs I ever saw. In all departments tracking, treeing, mouth, smarts etc.
I took a female from the first cross I ever made when I started my own line and bred her to Radar and of course hind sight is always 20-20. I wish I had made that same cross every time my female came in until they both died. It would have changed walker history. Just that one cross kept the line going that produced some of the best walker dogs in this country even today.
The really foundation female from all of my line was a grand daughter to Radar. That's what any pups produced from this semen would be.
Pass the word if you know anyone with a top class female.
Man I wish I had known this was around. Had no clue.
