I understand how big the HSUS is but if we don't organize and educate the public we have already lost the battle. They fired the first shots. We also need to join other organizations that are fighting them such as the Cattlemen's Association.
One man can not fight this alone.
The problem with the United States Is We just sit Back and think everything is going to be just fine.

HSUS charged un RICO laws
Center for Consumer Freedom Daily Headlines

Federal Racketeering Lawsuit Stuns HSUS
www.HumaneWatch.org
You may have missed our New Year's Eve exposé covering the dismissal of a federal lawsuit pushed by a consortium of animal rights groups that included the deceptive Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). The groups alleged that Feld Entertainment (the parent company of the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus) mistreated elephants in violation of the Endangered Species Act, but in December a judge tossed out the lawsuit. Now the plot thickens: The circus is suing HSUS, two HSUS lawyers, and a number of other animal rights organizations under the
Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. (The lawsuit is
exclusively available at HumaneWatch.org.)
The original animal rights lawsuit, filed more than nine years ago, was based on information provided by a former Ringling elephant "barn
helper" named Tom Rider. After Rider left his circus job, he was paid by animal rights groups to testify about the supposedly "bad" treatment of elephants there. In all, the original lawsuit's plaintiffs paid Rider more than $190,000-his sole source of income for years-while the litigation made its way through the court system.
Sound a bit like pay-for-play? As Judge Emmet Sullivan noted in his December ruling that dismissed the animal rights groups' lawsuit: "The Court finds that Mr. Rider is essentially a paid plaintiff and fact witness who is not credible, and therefore affords no weight to his testimony.. [T]he primary purpose [for the payments] is to keep Mr. Rider involved with
the litigation."
Based on Judge Sullivan's finding, Feld is suing everyone who played a part in this collaborative scheme (hence the "racketeering"
aspect). This includes Rider and a nonprofit "Wildlife Advocacy Project" charity that the Washington, DC law firm of Meyer Glitzenstein & Crystal allegedly used to launder money between their plaintiff clients and Rider.
One of these clients putting up dough to support Rider was the Fund for Animals, which merged with HSUS in 2004.
Feld is leveling bribery, fraud, obstruction of justice, and money laundering charges against HSUS and two of its corporate attorneys,
three other animal rights groups, Meyer Glitzenstein & Crystal, and all three of that firm's named partners. It's an earth-shattering lawsuit. Today we're telling the media:
America's farmers, ranchers, hunters, fishermen, research scientists, fashion designers, and restaurateurs have seen for decades how the animal rights movement can behave like a mobbed-up racket. But it's
still shocking to see the evidence laid out on paper. In a treble-damage lawsuit like this, a jury could actually do the humane thing and finally put HSUS out of business completely.
You can read the full, 135-page lawsuit over at HumaneWatch. It's worth more than a glance. If these allegations are proven true, HSUS employees might be finding themselves walking the same breadline they've tried to put so many others in.

Yellow Tail Wine Gives Money to HSUS
Sportsmen Urged to Voice Protest
The Australian maker of Yellow Tail Wine has pledged $100,000 to the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s largest anti-hunting organization. This partnership offers further proof of HSUS’ work to spin its animal rights message in a way as to seem mainstream.
As HSUS states on its website:
“… the HSUS has paired with [yellow tail] for the "tails for tails" program. Through the end of March, you'll see special [yellow tail] displays bearing The HSUS name and logo in stores across the country.
Through "tails for tails," [yellow tail] is donating $100,000 to support us and our programs to help animals, including our Spay Day Online Pet Photo Contest.”
Alerted to this relationship, the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance (USSA) immediately contacted the American distributor of the wine, W.J. Deutsch and Sons Ltd., and urged them to ask Yellow Tail to sever its relationship with HSUS.
A copy of the letter the USSA sent to management can be found by clicking here. Thus far, the USSA has not heard from W.J. Deutsch regarding our request.
“This wine maker has fallen into the same trap as other companies who donate money to HSUS,” said Bud Pidgeon, president of the U.S. Sportsmen’s Alliance. “They believe they are helping animals in shelters when in fact they are funding an agenda from an animal rights group that is largely divergent from the vast majority of Americans.”
Take Action! Sportsmen should contact W.J. Deutsch and Sons Ltd. and inform them that they disapprove of Yellow Tail Wine’s relationship with the HSUS. It is important that W.J. Deutsch and Sons Ltd understand that each dollar given to HSUS is another dollar that can be used to attack hunting, fishing and trapping rights. Further, tell them that sportsmen will be forced to select alternative brands if the relationship with HSUS is not severed.

NY TIMES AD regarding HSUS

New York Times ad: “Shouldn’t the ‘Humane Society’ Do Better?”
We're running a full-page advertisement in today's editions of The New York Times.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONSUMER GROUP TO NEW YORK TIMES READERS: "SHOULDN'T THE 'HUMANE SOCIETY' DO
BETTER?"
Only One out of Every 200 Dollars Donated to the Humane Society of the United
States Goes to a Pet Shelter
Washington – A full-page ad from the nonprofit Center for Consumer Freedom (CCF)
appears in today’s New York Times, highlighting the failure of the Humane
Society of the United States (HSUS) to devote a significant amount of money to
supporting America’s underfunded pet shelters. The ad explains that HSUS shares
only 1 dollar out of every 200 dollars it collects with local, hands-on pet
shelters. The ad encourages readers to find out more by visiting
HumaneWatch.org, CCF’snew watchdog website.
Americans have become familiar with HSUS fundraising ads asking for a
$19-per-month commitment that amounts to an annual donation of more than $200.
But according to HSUS’s own tax records, donors making that pledge are sending
barely $1 to an organization that shelters unwanted pets—the work most Americans
think of when they hear the words “Humane Society.”
“HSUS’s cable TV fundraising ads are full of images of dogs and cats in dire
need of help,” said CCF Director of Research David Martosko. “HSUS donors should
hold the organization to a much higher standard. Instead of spending millions on
executive pensions, a bloated legal staff, and PETA-style propaganda campaigns,
HSUS’s leaders should put their money where their mouth is.”
The ad reads:
Shouldn’t the “Humane Society” do better?
The Humane Society of the United States is NOT your local animal shelter. In
fact, it gives less than one-half of one percent of its $100 million budget to
hands-on pet shelters.
Meanwhile, this wealthy animal rights group socked away over $2.5 million of
Americans’ donations in its own pension plans.
Surprised? So were we. The dog-watchers need a watchdog. Join the discussion
at HumaneWatch.org.
Last week CCF launched www.HumaneWatch.org, an online watchdog project dedicated
to analyzing HSUS’s activities and keeping the group honest. It includes a blog,
an interactive document library, and a growing body of information about
HSUS-related organizations and staff.
For more information or to arrange an interview, please visit
www.HumaneWatch.org or call Allison Miller at 202.463.7112
The Center for Consumer Freedom is a nonprofit watchdog organization that
informs the public about the activities of tax-exempt activist groups. It is
supported by American consumers, business organizations, and foundations.

YELLOW TAIL WINES
Yellow Tail shows support for farmers and ranchers
By Drovers news source | Friday, February 19, 2010
The Animal Agriculture Alliance commends Casella Wines, the Australian producers of [yellow tail] on their commitment to support farmers and ranchers around the world.
"The people at [yellow tail] have worked with us over the past few days in what we believe is a genuine effort to repair ill feeling caused by the sponsorship of the Humane Society of the United States. We are satisfied the controversy and anxiety it caused was unintentional," said Kay Johnson Smith, Executive Vice President. "They have committed to in the future only supporting welfare organizations with a sole commitment to animal care. As farmers themselves, theyre committed to supporting agriculture, as evidenced by their annual upcoming barbeque promotion. "
The Alliance received the following letter from [yellow tail] on February 19:
Dear Kay Johnson Smith, Animal Agriculture Alliance:
I am writing to thank you for your feedback regarding our [tails] for tails program.
The spirit and intention of our donation to the Humane Society of the United States was for the celebration of animals. Being farmers ourselves we support those who care for their land and their environment, just as we do. We are proud of our rural heritage and value a solid relationship with agricultural communities around the world.
[yellow tail] is committed to the plight of animals in need, and we know that animal welfare groups work in different ways to advance their cause. We are interested in the welfare of animals, and in financially supporting animal welfare causes that provide direct care services to help animals, not on taking positions on any animal lobbying issues. We pledge to you that any future support for animal welfare will go to organizations specifically devoted to hands-on care, such as rescue, sterilization, feeding, or disaster assistance.
Like the wines we produce, we are friendly Australians who enjoy bringing people together, and look forward to doing so through our annual spring and summer promotional campaign "[tails] around the barbecue" and our "holiday enter[tail]ing" campaign. We very much value your opinion and wish to thank-you for your honesty.
Sincerely,
[yellow tail] customer Service Team
"We have invited the people at [yellow tail] to work closely with the Alliance, an offer that is open to wine makers around the world. As we all know, meat, cheeses and wine are natural partners." Johnson Smith said. "We are happy to put this unfortunate incident behind us."
The Alliance is impressed with the agriculture community's use of social media and encourages farmers and ranchers to use the momentum to continue to educate the public about the importance of American agriculture on Facebook and Twitter. Producers who are interested in learning more about using social media tools to advocate for agriculture should contact the Alliance's Communications Coordinator, Sarah Hubbart, at shubbart@animalagalliance.org.

San Antonio, Texas, needs your help. Please e-mail Fox News KABB-TV and

News E-Mail: [email]news@kabb.com
The KABB TV Station ran this story last night and three times this morning in support of the national "animal rights" HSUS and Texas Humane Legislation
Network Campaign to stop all dog and cat breeding in the US. The story is a disjointed effort attacking so-called "puppymills" with mention of both local and state legislation which will be proposed soon in San Antonio and at the state level in January.
Vincent Medley, San Antonio Animal Care Services Manager, blatantly misinforms viewers that there's nothing that can be done with out-of-city"breeders" and "brokers." The well worn HSUS pictures of sad dogs (send money) were used in the story. If you're not aware, there's a raid onbreeders, rescuers and pet owners every few weeks in Texas. Texas has one of the strongest Animal Cruelty laws in the US.
RPOA sent KABB TV lots of material Sunday when we saw the promo for the story. We told them they were being duped; that this was a national "animal rights" legislative agenda. We included our Final Report on the 81st Legislative Session which was actually shown on the air near the end of the story.
However our name wasn't mentioned - just that "some people" feel there is adequate legislation now and they mentioned getting the appeal process for animal seizures passed last session.
Fox News has a reputation locally for showing heartwarming animal stories
and provides free air time to help place homeless animals. They have covered many RPOA events so we know they didn't realize they were being duped. However this can't be ignored. It's time to educate the media!

Well I just wanted to let everyone know. I did recieve an e-mail from Megan Sewell at HSUS. She said that she had not gotten any of my e-mails due to she had blocked me. She stated that I am a liar and have been harrassing her. She said that she will no longer accept my e-mails. And that the small amount of harrassing her will not deter her or HSUS. She said that none of this bothers her or dose any good.
Well it must bother her and do some good for her to continually monitor this site to see what is being said. She dose not accept my e-mails but did know what I have been saying.
So I guess I as well as anyone else should continue to work towards educating the public about how HSUS are liars out for the benefit of themselves only.
Hello Megan, I am not going away. Sorry you will not accept my e-mails, but I really think that you do read them!! But if you do not just keep checking up on this site. I hope everyone else will keep you up to date also. Good reading.

I agree!
Anyone know a person with billboard knowledge?
Let's form a group, collect donations & choose some mega sites and decide on the billboard message.
I'm willing to participate - I can write the copy (message), but I don't have expereience dealing with billboards.
We'd need some expert advice about what the cost should be as well as locations.
I'm sure different billboard vendors have differing rates.

I'll send mine too
However, I have a QUESTION.
Will our responses appear anyplace other than CB or the UKC web site?
We are still only "preaching to the choir" if our responses only appear in hound-related publications.
We need to get the H$U$ facts out to the
"FOO-FOO" dog & cat owners - the general public that sends donations to H$U$. Until the donations to H$U$ dry up, they'll continue with lobbyists, legislature and the raids that produce MORE donations for their agenda.
We need to be on the OFFENSE instead of the DEFENSE!
