Yes, River bend Flag was bred to Magills Lone Pine Jill. Which produced Logan's Wild Jeanie who is the mother of Wessel's Wild Casey. I sure would like to see the pedigree of your legend dog.

River Bend Lonesome II
I know many times that a dog shows up in the background of a hound and then it gets a tag hung on it. It's a Lipper hound, its a clover dog, it's a finley river dog. When you look close, yes ole lipper or clover is back there somewhere but in my opinion not enough to have a real impact 3 or 4 generations away. You have a right to refer to a dog in anyway you want to and that is not my point here.

What I am looking for is some opinions on those that may know more about a particular dog than I do.
River Bend Lonesome II doesn't seem to me to have a lot of the River Bend blood that I saw several years ago as dogs referred to as River Bend Hounds. Am I seeing that wrong or is the River Bend name hung on the dog because Kent owned half at one time. It's all good with me no matter how it shakes out. Just looking for some history on RB Lonesome II. I have looked on some of the websites and older post on here which has good info and pictures of Lonesome. Just curious. I have a Son of his here and the idea of raising a litter of pups from him is creeping into my mind and just wondering about him.

Any of you Riverbend hunters remember a dog back in the early 90's I think it was.. Wv Sky. The best I remember he was direct or a grandpup of flag.

The reason I'm asking is because I hunted for many years a dog out of Sky named Poison Spider. Spider was a nite ch and won 3rd in 96 world hunt (AKC). Spider looked a lot like ol flag and could be treed on his locate and was a dominant hound in thick coons. Those flag dogs are kinda special to me.

In prime hunting shape Chip is a 2nd or 3rd strike dog & 1st type tree dog. Chip has a bawl mouth on track and a steady 60BPM chop mouth on tree. He doesn't have all the flashy tools like some of the modern day hounds have, he is just an old time style mountain coon dog, he is a very accurate hound that has a medium nose but can tree lay up coons when they aren't moving. With company he goes as deep as needed but hunting alone he will hunt 300-400 yard circles. In his prime he had an average mouth but it has softened up over the past few years. If you are a fan of the old River Bend Flag or Yadkin River Bloodline and think Chip may be a compliment to your breeding program just get in touch to schedule a breeding.
