It was a lot of fun taking whip from the ground up. He makes handling him pretty easy. He started early and made continuous progress just like his mother who I also started and finished to NiteCh. With the pedigree he has behind him, I don't see why he won't reproduce. I took the NiteCh Boomer x Ruby female that me and Shannon McCracken own, Joleen, and bred her to Whip this heat cycle. We'll see what happens. Going to be pretty fun hunting a third generation of pups that I started and trained.

Just to give an update on some Brummy puppies that should be hitting the ground this summer for the folks that have asked.

I talked to Gabe Webb, he's bringing his NITECH Georgia female to see Brummy when she comes in, should be around July 4th he said. She's off Choppin' Axe and an All Terrain Boomer female. Georgia is a coon dog.

Roho Carlise is bringing Kate back to see Brummy when she comes in, this will be a 2nd time cross. Sack, Si, Ruger and Troubles are off the first cross.

Kerry Oswalt's Demi female is bred right now, she's due in mid June. Demi is off Pounder and Sis.

Also Magic owned by myself and David Thomas will be bred to Brummy. She's a grand daughter to Jet 6 Again on top and Hammer bred on the bottom. She should be in any time.

Me and Whip hunted with Tyler Allen and Dan last night. We had one of the best hunts I've had in awhile, 5 trees with 5 singles.

The first drop we cut them in a chufa patch and they struck red hot and treed in a pine right on the edge of it. Coon seen.

The second drop we cut out of another chufa patch, they went down a big hill, hit the lake and started around it left handed. Whip struck soon followed by Dan, they ran a good track about 300 yards and both loaded up at the same time. Coon seen.

Pulled them off that tree and sent them on around the lake, they got to about 500 yards and fell treed again with no track. Coon seen.

Pulled them off the tree and recut them, they covered some ground quick and we decided to go back and get the truck and pull around closer. When we pulled around they had split up, Whip was still on the lake and Dan had come up a drain left handed. Dan was opening and soon fell treed with a coon. About the time we were pulling Dan off his tree Whip fell treed 900 yards through the country right on the edge of the lake. We were hunting on the city of Barnesville reservoir. Been staying on Whip and Panic pretty hard getting them ready for Bluetick Days.

I've been hunting Whip hard and he's been looking good then last night he peeled in there and treed him a possum. He had a pretty bad possum problem back in the fall/winter and I thought he'd learned to leave them alone but apparently I needed to ask him again not to tree possums. I think the last one he treed before last night was the February 28th, the night our season went out.

Bluetick Days or the reunion I'll rarely ever make, unless they're in Iowa.
#1 Money's tight after the shorter winter hours. #2 This is pretty much the busiest time of year for work. Started framing a house today.

2014 Bluetick days

We had a good showing at Blue days this year. I handled Whip all three nights and he performed for me this weekend as good as he ever has when Kerry and I owned him. Thursday night he put up a score of +525 which lead to him winning Overall Champion of the Junior Division of the Young Gun Shoot Out. Friday night the breaks didn't fall our way, but he operated like he was supposed to. Saturday night was an enjoyable cast, Whip put up a solid score of 475+ and went on to win 5th Place NiteCh just like Ol Brummy back in 2011. Whip is an exciting hound to hunt. Each night he split with a coon at least once along with taking a few first and first coon. Thanks Clyde for letting me handle the young man. He is a special hound to me and I look forward handling him in the future.

Congrats to Clyde and Zeb for NiteCh Blue Iron Panic's Cast Win on Saturday with 475+ as well. It was a good weekend for Brummy pups.
