ROAD TRIP

Thanks Casey, you are welcome here anytime and I have a little cottage with a 4 run dog kennel 7 minutes from my house so you have a place of your on to stay when you get here. There is a guy from Indiana coming Sunday after the Winter Classic to hunt with me some next week. He is hunting a half brother to my Bo and your Zero. Sure would be nice if you could squeeze a road trip into your busy schedule and come make a hunt with us one night next week. Be nice to see 3 out of Bocephus and different females on a hunt together. Give me a shout if you can make it but if not I understand and I will be in touch to try and set up a hunt with you on your end soon, Take Care and Good Hunting!

Thanks for the invite, and I will take you up on it one day.. In my line of work I can't miss "work"..HAHA. I had already made plans and Friday night went and hunted w/ Rance over close to Jacksonville Fl.. Got home at 5 am. Not the best dog work (on my end) that I've ever seen, but I had a great time and we did knock out a coon...


Looks like Layla is definitely bred by Zero... She's 8 years old. Hope everything goes well w/ the pups. She should have the pups around Feb. 22

Nice weather down here in the deep south.. I've been hunting almost every night. Got a couple young dogs turning the crank, my pup trainer, Uncle Zero has been showing them the ropes. It works out really well in that it keeps zero in shape for the comp hunts... it also keeps him used to dumb dogs running around doing stupid stuff, so he's not surprised when it happens on the weekend

Zero has had a decent year so far... Maybe he's celebrating his last few weeks as a 3 y/o... HAHA

He has won $1100 so far this year (some was added purse $ that only counts toward lifetime).

I'm looking forward to seeing how he will reproduce. He has proven he can win. I'm glad that he is still young and already has had some guys give it a shot by breeding to him. I have my own first litter off him due in about 20 days... looking forward to it, but dreading the hassle of pups :-)

Here's a pic of Layla ... Zero bred the her the first time 12/20/15, and he bred her every other day for about a week and a half... so the pups could be due from 2/21/2016 to a couple weeks later

Since you took that pic, he has acquired a pretty nasty scar on the bridge of his snout and another one on his ear where coons got him..... he always grabs the coon in the wrong places.. not the best kill dog, but he ain't scared.. HAHA Both poncho and Layla have chunks missing out of their ears.. CHARACTER

I understand those battle scars for sure.
Cricket isn't much of a kill dog herself.
I don't shoot many to her at all but the ones I do I try my best to make a kill shot.
I learned real quick.
She sure will pluck one bald though.

Good talkin with ya yesterday. I'm trying right now to get photo bucket to down load the video. It's amazing to mess with pups and watch them get thier noses in the air and wind the coon scent put out for them and locate the tree and start to clickin them off. I laid the drag into the wind so they could locate the scent better.These 3 females are the youngest I have ever laid a drag for. They turned 11 weeks old on Saturday and I laid the drag early Sunday afternoon.Normally I wait till thier 4 months old. Still concerned on thier mouths some but that can change considering thier still very young. I like what I'm seeing with these to date! The first one to really get the scent in the air was the all ticked up one with the black on her hind end. She's the only one that has a name as of now. I call her Spunky aka spunk!Smartest and has thebest personality of them all! All 3 dig real nice,she had a bit extra but has the most ? on her mouth!Thanks,Danny G.

Phillip in north Carolina said his 5-6 month old zero x Fannie pup went 9/10ths of a mile in the snow w th other dogs n treed some w the meat.. said he's got a monster of a mouth.. Seen another video of a zero x suede pup Treeing a cage coon..

My zero x Fannie pup has,a big mouth, but isn't ready for the timber just yet, she still a lot of growing up to do...

Justin, those race standings can change quick.. .Got a couple big hunts coming up, we should win a few more....

That's more than likely why photo bucket came up error. Must have cross scripted the two videos. That was the first time I messed with them, They turn 9 weeks old that day. Weather warms up I plan on hauling the ones I'm keeping and working them on another drag. Hopefully it will allow me to post a video of them here! Danny G.
