Big Mike pup

Jeffrey Butler just put a video an my Facebook, of his Big Mike and Liza Jane pup treeing his own coons, in those North Carolina swamps, he turned 7 months old yesterday. Big Mouth and stylish!!

Mr, brothers I have a few questions like how open is he an how quick does he get his mouth open ? My female is real tight unless its hot I prefer to hear one strike quick an move on an get treed with the meat can't stand a mouthy dog but I'd like more strike power!! An since I always liked the Charley creek Mac dogs I figured I'd check out mike

Big Mike

Andy , he is quick on both ends, I would say a solid 2nd strike dog , gets a lot of 1st strikes by hustle and deadly accurate! Gets to himself a lot nothing man made all natural! Good in thick or thin coons doesn't matter where you put him. Uses his mouth according to track. thanks for the interest.

My female is bred alot like your old Mac dog prairie creek go I believe was a littermate to your old Mac dog. Trackman on her topside trees coons behind dogs doesn't blow out she hunts out u never see her till its over though. I just think mike would compliment her nicely.

I bred a female that is a Granddaughter to Trackman, these pups will be 7months old on the 25th of Dec, the whole litter is running and treeing. I also bred a female going back to a Great Grandaughter to Mac , the ones that have been messed with, are also started Big Mouths, should work. Andy.

Gary Cooks Witch female was bred on Dec 4th there are 6 already booked, if you are interested in a Big Mike pup better book one quick, as they don't last long!

One of the Mike X Crook pup's that made her way to Texas was showed her first cage coon. She consistently bayed on it. He took her hunting the same night. When his old dog struck, he cut his pup in on the track. She went right in and opened a couple times. They went about a hundred yards and came treed. He got to the tree and the pup was on the tree, treeing with her feet on
the tree. Not hard but she knew the coon was there. He said he knocked the coon out to them. He said that he was "pretty excited about her first night and first coon."

I have been getting several positive reports from the puppies from this cross. We typically start ours a little older, so March will be perfect. He have high hopes.

Big Mike seems to be crossing well with any type and style of female. He seems to not only be a coon dog, but a reproducer as well. He is not the hound that is created everyday, but Dick has consistently found them.

another Mike pup!

Rodney Peek from North Carolina, Has a Big Mike pup out of James Corn and Jason Clarks female, she is out of Extreme Insane x , this is what Rodney had to say about his pup. They cut his pup loose with two other dogs, all dogs struck and the two other dogs came treed , the pup trailed right by them and split treed, the other dogs were slick and this pup had the meat!! Then they cut the pup by himself, he went 500 yds and treed another coon! This pup won't be 7 months old till Jan 10th Thanks Rodney for hunting a Big Mike pup. and thanks to Jason and James for breeding there female to Big Mike!

Man the good reports on Big Mike pups keep on coming I am excited to get my Big Mike x cooks witch pup!! Hope she has a bunch! I am also looking forward to breeding Pistol Annie to Big Mike .... with Mike's pups doing so good at such an early age is special!! All out of different females. Looking forward to training one of these guys! Lol

Dick here are a few pictures of Ike ( Big Mike / Crook ) cross. He is (7) months old and will go hunting every drop and is running and treeing. Bad tracks he doesn't like to me too but if he can run it up he will tree and trees setting down sometime and stands on the wood some. He is making progress and that is key for me!

just talked to Danny Akers, Danny said his Big Mike pup treed her own coon on Jan 5th , he said she has an awesome locate! She will be 8 months old Jan 25th. thanks for hunting a Mike pup Danny.

Recently, I have had 2 calls wanting to breed English females to Big Mike. I am not into x breeds, and we have bred all these years for a true blooded Walker and we should continue to do so to keep the Walker breed on top. Again thanks for the interest in Big Mike.

Amen . Keep it pure. I agree a lot of past breeders including yourself have spent countless hours developing the breed. If you want to change what you have in walkers breed for the desired traits with in the breed. I would say in each breed their breeders would feel the same way. Mark
