Good for you and Lumber Elmo, one more place and boom! I flat just did not make it, turkey hunted most of the morning and worked around the house and hung out with the family. Just couldn't bring myself to come over. I will let you and Lumber dog get out of the way so I can sneak in the back door Heck it another hunt next Saturday and if all goed as plans you will have another looking to Grand out captain!

Lumber and I are trying and seem to be having some luck at this point.
I hope he will make it soon and that will give ole Timber another Nite ch and he has a son with 4 wins to Grand so maybe he will have two soon to add to his production numbers.
I hope Lumber can take his spot in reproducing being that he is so young and Timber didn't start breeding till he was 5 basically. Time will tell.
Maggie need two more so wins to be Grand Show and I hope we can get 4 wins and finish her to Dual Grand this year and I will breed her to Lumber.

Lumber and Maggie two singles on three drops. I hunted with Josh Riley. Maggie had been doing some strange things at the hunts so we went to the woods. She looked good. I told him just needs to talk to her and love on her and she will perform great. I like her locate and she is a very nice treedog. Lumber is very consistant and very quick to locate and tree. He is very accurate at this point. It will help him in the future.
Since I have been using these certain cattle tags my dogs at this point have no ticks or fleas.

I'm on vacation all week!

Not sure what all I'm going to do. I have to get my car fixed from being wrecked and I'm sure I will turn a dog loose a time or two. Macon has a RQE on Saturday the 16th and plenty of other hunts around. I'm just going to enjoy each and everyday. Who know where I might show up.

Hunted Lumber and Magic tonight

I have not turned Magic loose since coon season in Dec.
We treed a den and two slick trees and I was not happy. Finally Magic worked a old cold track that Lumber couldn't handle and got treed. Both dogs treed real nice and the coon was there it was about 1 am so that track was made early evening but Magic did his thing. Got home and backed in the drive only to see I have a flat back tire with new tires on the back

Well I guess Lumber and I will try our luck! My vacation has been sitting in eating and sleeping mostly so might as well end the week chasing these mask bandits in Indiana.

Well

Bluetick Days was a good three days of meeting new faces and getting to so old ones. Plenty coons treed over the three days. Lumber and I didn't do any good but we competed even if I miss the deadline on Friday night. My own fault but it happened. Oh well life goes on.
Made it home safe and now time to rest and get ready for work on Monday

No girlfriend for Lumber

He was suppose to have her yesterday but it didn't happen so hopefully he will get a shot at the breed pen soon enough.
I'm rested up after the long drive from Bluetick Days so we shall think about turning some hounds loose a few nights this week. Magic is getting fat as a butterball turkey and I feel the same way.

Made a couple of drops last night with Lumber and a female off Too Tuff Betty. We made one circle tree and a hole in a pond back that was it. Got home after midnight.
Nothing to brag about or be upset about. Coons didn't move well where I was.

UKC HUNT LAST NIGHT

It didn't start are end well. First off I forgot my boots so I hunted in tennis shoes and it had rained so it was very slick. We treed a couple of coons and I made one tree mistake and Lumber made the other so we sat in the truck and listened for the last 40 minutes. I could have stayed in but walking through creeks with wet feet and sliding down banks was not my cup of tea. I hunted with some nice black and tans and blue male. It was good cast. Lesson learned I hope. Last few hunts I have not been myself in forgetting deadlines not bringing my boots and my calling has been subpar. So I have got get back on track I hope. I guess I will get Lumber Nite champion at some point I hope.

Lumber and I hunted solo

After about a hour of looking he just fell treed and had a coon. He was about 780 yards. He as all over the bluffs and creeks. I'll take it!

Hunted tonight

Josh and I got out early. He was hunting a female named Lou off of Too Tuff Betty and I had Lumber.
First turn Lumber struck in at 350 yards followed by Lou they work a track down the holler and Lumber nutted on the tree with Lou backing him. We got in there and they had the meat. I crossed over a field and we recast the dogs. They where in about 700 yards so we drove around and when we got out they were treed. Got in and shined and they had the coon there and we called it a night and was home by 11:15 I like those kinds of nights.

Lumber went in 559 yards and just treed again with the meat. I hope he isn't getting tight on the ground on me.

Two singles

Hunted Lumber solo. First turn he went 459 yards no track just treed and had his coon. I loved on him a lot and drove to the next spot he went in 250 yards and just treed again no track and had is coon. He chewed a little on this tree which I have not seen him do. Anyway we called it a night.

Hunted last night

Lumber got in about 800 yards and he and a blue female got treed on a coon.
On the way out the little female was running loose and struck a track and it was a hot track so I cut Lumber in well she treed but Lumber didn't want to then he finally couldn't stand it and I see why possum. This is he first one so he just got a no and I went to the truck. I told him it would be in his best frame of mind to not ever do that again.
Next drop he treed a den which I saw the coon on the ground so I know he had him. I called it a night.

Hunted Magic in the Grand Nite Cast in Marshall. He had a first tree on one coon and he split at the end to give me a chance to win but just couldn't find his coon in the 10 minutes and I know he had it.
Oh well he didn't do bad being that he has only been turned loose once since Dec of last year.

I will see if I can qualify Magic for the World. Time will tell. He is Grand so not much else to do with him. Maybe try some PKC not sure. He is 8 years old so who knows. Bring him some girlfriend and get some great early starting houndy pups that know how to stay treed with or without company.
