Ray Short and Mr E.K. Malcom of Madison, Ga. Mr. Malcom owned Sandy Creek Warrior out of Eddie Ross' Mountain Music Blue and Dewey Hayes' Hayes Blue Gown. This was during the late 50's and early 60's. Ray Short and I started coon hunting right after I got out of the Marine Corps. Many evenings we would meet the deer hunters trucks as we headed East to begin our hunt and then meet them again before daylight on our return home-changing shift!
Dale Parker supplied this very nice picture of two greats. The dog is Dual Grand Ch Castleberry's Rebel II with his owner Charlie Castleberry. Rebel II was from the cross of Uchtman's Rebel and Stower's Sadie Mae. In this photo the dog is about 10 years old. He was the kind we all hope to own at least once.
Where is Jess Rogers at these days. I am assuming this is the fellow that was parnered with Jerry Hackworth on a male and worked with UKC for awhile.

cethridge-I think you are mixing up two different people. Les Rogers did partner with Jerry for awhile. Jess Rogers who I ran a picture of on this post was from Arkansas. Last I heard Les had moved back to the Mobile area of Alabama.
I get called Etheridge all the time but I bet you don't get called Eldridge-do you? It happens to my sons all the time. I have even received awards engraved with C W Etheridge on them. Any way thanks and I hope I answered your question.
charlie & rebel ll
quote:jess passed away app 10 years ago. Jerry & Charlie were friends for years but never partners on a dog. Charlie never worked for ukc. However he. Did register a few dog & pups over the years. Anyone that ever had any dealing with or knows Charlie will tell you men don't come any better.. due to his health he doesn't hunt any more but he keeps up with the blue dogs in the books. & still loves to talk about them.

Do you recognize these Bluetick men? You should-straight from the heart of the coon hunting world.
Previous picture was Bub Thomas standing, Thomas Marshall and Bob Tully with a great, great grandson of Bub's old Nt Ch Thomas Illinois Warrior. This picture was of two winners not that long ago
