"Life" and our crazy weather has been keeping me home from hunting more than I'm used to lately. I can't wait till I can get out more. The first cousin cross on Rebel x Lucy seems to have been a good one. Well if you consider Susie anyway. She looks real good moving a track and a hard barking treedog.

Yes this weekend, thats why I have had him out every night this week running the hide off him. He sure has been looking good, but making it a bit ruff on a old guy at work the next morning.lol

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back with you. Been swamped. Lol. Congrats on your success with Dan. Keep me posted on how he is doing.

Dan is from the Mose x Ruby cross and is a super nice hound. He has a 1rst, 2nd, and a 8th, all coming at National level hunts. Wayne plans on qualifying him for the World hunt, and he will be a handful for whoever draws him.

I've thinned down my pack so now that I only have 2 adult dogs and Man gets to go with more often. He's been looking better and better, and I guess that's all I can hope for till some fur starts getting knocked out to him. I can tell that's what he needs the most, but like every year, come about June or July I'm counting down the days to our hide season.

Last night on the last coon, he actually went off by himself and pushed a track through some multi floral rose that wasn't fun for me to walk thru with brush chaps on, so I can only imagine what it's like for a dog. He pulled the trigger on the tree, and within a few moments my older female was there to give him a pat on the back.

Also, I bred him to my older female and 2 females were born on 4-1-13. I've grown quite fond of both of them. At 8 weeks old they were already getting really gritty with the coon tail, and would even sit down and tree on it like they knew what they were doing. Time will tell how the rest unfolds....

I feel like I'm hijacking your thread, but I thought I'd let you know that I finished Man to Show Champion this weekend at the 2013 WCHA Badger Championship (Purina Event). Friday he got class and breed, and Saturday he got BOS.

I also tried him in the swim race. He hasn't been worked in the swimming stuff at all, so when the gate was dropped he hesitated to jump right in, but did end up getting in and ended up catching the pack towards the end, but didn't get by them. Turns out he's a good swimmer too. I figured he would be, he's a very strong, powerful dog in that little package.

Here's the only pic I got from the weekend. Had a better one, but somehow my 10 mo old son punched a button on the keyboard and erased it for good.

I hear ya. I usually don't hunt much in July and August cuz it's just miserable. I'd really like to get a few wins towards GrNtCh on my female though, so we'll see. July and August are good months for fishing too....

Spoke with Don Schulte this past week. Between the Schulte's and Mr. Dean Wood they have 3 young dogs from the Mose x Monkey cross. Don said that they will all win when taken to town. Sounds like the male that Don is hunting is a sneaky, coon treeing sucker that doesn't need a track to tree a coon. When it is said and done Monkey is going to have reproduced a remarkable amount of titled dogs.

Mose's Owl Creek Lucy had her pups yesterday. Lucy and pups are doing well. 11 live pups. 9 males 2 females. Had one female pup born dead. Just my luck............

I took Rex (Mose x Monkey) to town lastnight. He won his cast and put a first on him with 500+, also got his show champ title. I sure am enjoying this little guy. Shouldn't be long now before he makes night champ. I'll keep you posted on his progress.
