I'm glad Amanda was willing to handle our dogs!! Couldn't have entered them without her! Good thing her mom saved her from going swimming with Rose.

10 or 20 more feet in that pond and that WCh heat might have ended a little differently. It was a good race!

Tiny's lame excuse for his videos -- no image stabilization on his camera. Geez.....!! LOL

i was thanking the same thing dang short ponds lol . well maybe on the 15 i swim amanda in sted of copper lol

I got my ol walker made his self fch this weekend took him 4 times to get er done but finally made it. Gunna try to make him grand yet this year see how it goes.

Can't believe Copper looked like he forgot how to swim at the start of that race!
Does Amanda swim good? Talking to her mom, it sounds like she might be a sure bet for a field trial.

BTW, did you happen to get video of Rose at Troy when she finished to WCh? I'd sure like to have that if you did.

to me it looks like one of the dogs land on him out of the box witch may hav mess him up . amanda at the pool every day i bet she swim good.

i do have the race from troy i try to post them and the youth race at winterset

Nothing here has been hunted in 100 yrs, so we'll be there just to FT and WR.

Dream on bud. That was Rose right next to him and maybe she bumped him coming out of the box (since she likes to go stage left), but she didn't land on him.

You know how long the course is there. Think the longest one this yr hes been on was , 3/4 mile of a mile.

I've never been to Mineral Point before. Most of our field trials in the West were 2+ miles....and we hunted the night before and the night of. But yeah, we weren't competing for cool things like a quad. My dogs have never been so out-of-shape in their lives. It's sad!

I miss those Field Trials! Most of these out here are "drag races" -- reward hot nose/speed. I liked the ones where just having a dog that made it to the tree was pretty cool!
Win or lose, I know my dogs will have fun Saturday. Just getting out of the kennel is a fun day for them. Again....it's SAD not to have actual *hunting* dogs anymore!! Never thought I'd see it this way, especially while living in the midwest.

Shawn, thanks for posting the vids from Troy! Can I bother you to get them on a flash drive so I can put those 2 of Rose on my computer. I don't think I can do that directly from photobucket.

You wouldn't have believed her yesterday at WI. She was really "off". Don't know what was wrong, but Casey actually beat her for line in the field trial! I don't think that has happened since back when Rose was still learning how to play the game....over 3 yrs ago. Rose even pulled one of her old stunts in the water race -- missing the line.

On the flipside Casey did good, especially considering that's only the 3rd time she's been out of the kennel in months. She seems to be over the post heat/false pregnancy business now and back to her usual self. It'll be interesting to see how she does at the next open at Winterset.

I'll post a pic of the pond up there a little later. It's a REALLY NICE swim pond!

I really wish they would have re-run that FT! That sucked!!!

I was really disappointed in the numbers for both the FT and WR. I was expecting something really big. If they only look at entry numbers when considering for next year, that will probably have been the first and last time they do those events.
