03-31-12 hunt
I decided to take the hounds out for a spin last night. I haven't been out for a couple weeks. It sure has turned a lot of green out there in the timber. It seems to be getting thick and green fast. Anyway I took Hardware and Zeus. I hunted them one at a time. First drop, I cut Zeus by himself. He hunts the area out very well, then moves on out towards the creek at 800 yds them cuts back south and gets struck and trees shortly after. I am able to drive down the road and get within a couple hundreds yards of him. The tree was a hard one to shine, so we lead out and head for the truck. Second drop, I cut Hardware. He gets about a half mile away and finds a track. Hardware gets treed in close to a house. I didn't spend much time looking the tree over. I snap a picture of him and we headed for the truck. It was getting late so we headed for the house. Below are a couple pics from last nights hunt.

Super Sonic
Sonic is one nice pup I wish him the best at the super stakes. When is the 3 cross due.
Jason Cooper
Thanks for the compliment on Sonic. He is a nice pup, we knew at a very early age he has the potential to be something very special.
About the 3rd cross, They will be born sometime the end of May, I believe. Mike Dunn in Alabama has a better idea of the due date. But I'm pretty sure end of May is when they are due. There has been several already booked months ago on this cross. I hope she has a big healthy litter. The 2nd cross is doing just like the 1st cross so far, they are naturals that leave an impression.
I spoke with John, he said you guys had a good hunt last night, treed several coon and had a good time. We will have to get together for a hunt sometime, it has been a long time since me and you been hunting together.
Take care, Chris

2012 Spring SS-Freshman Division Hunt
Last night was the 2012 Spring Baby Stakes Hunt. We had 4 littermates out of NITECH HARPETH RIVER BLUE JACK X MCGINNIS' BLUE THUNDER compete in the hunt last night. I would like to ***CONGRATULATE*** Carl Meeks and Rascal for winning 2nd place in the finals and having the high scoring dog of the first round. Rascal treed on 3 coon and 1 of those by himself in the first round. This was the first other _KC hunt that Rascal has been entered in. I would also like to CONGRATULATE John Bishop and Sonic for winning their cast in the first round. This was Sonic's first hunt ever and won his cast with plus points and was the only dog in his cast to tree a coon. Rascal and Sonic are 11 months old and they are out of HARPETH RIVER BLUE JACK X MCGINNIS' BLUE THUNDER. I am very happy with the success we have been having with these young dogs. We hope to have a couple of these pups entered at Bluetick Days this year.
CONGRATULATIONS
once again to CARL MEEKS AND MEEKS' BLUE RASCAL for making it to the final 4 and winning 2nd place overall. I wish them continued success together.

I have just recently acquired a female out of the 1st cross(11months old) of Harpeth River Blue Jack X Mcginnis Blue Thunder. She has not been fooled with much at all, but I do know first hand she was one of the best pups at a very young age. I will be working with her some to see how she progresses. If she does what I think she will be a good one. I worked with her today on a release. She was most definitely coon crazy, and has the potential to be one of the hardest tree dogs I personally have been around. It will be interesting to she how she progresses. Below is a picture of her today while I was working her.
DIXIE
On Friday April 13, 2012 I went hunting with my goods friends Mike Dunn and Matt White from Cullman, Alabama. We also stopped by and went hunting with John Bishop. Mike Dunn owns Harpeth River Blue Jack and wanted to see some of Jack's pups in the woods. Mike got to see Sonic go at John's place and got to see Zeus go here at my place. I was pretty happy with Zeus' performance. Zeus was dropped twice, treeing singles both times. Below are some pics of Zeus on Friday nights pleasure hunt with Mike, Matt and myself. Zeus is out of Harpeth River Blue Jack X Blue Midnight Star.

Went hunting with John Bishop and Sonic last night. I took Zeus.
We met up about halfway. We cut them loose, Zeus gets struck with Sonic striking right there with him. They move the track well down a small creek. Sonic trees, with Zeus treeing in behind him. We get to them, they have the meat. We lead off from there and cut them back loose. Sonic strikes, with Zeus striking in behind him. They get in about 500 yds and Sonic goes lefthanded. Sonic comes treed, with Zeus backing him. We head into them. They have the meat again. We head for the truck and call it a night. Sonic did a very good job last night. Zeus did a fair job. Sonic is just super fast on both ends. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Sonic. I forgot to take pictures, but they looked good treed with the meat.

I just got done working Dixie today. She has not been messed with much, but she is coming along fine. Dixie is a litter mate to Sonic, Blitz, Rascal. She is 11 months old. She has an ear piercing chop on the tree. I was very happy with her performance today. Below is a picture of her taken today during our workout.

04-18-12 hunt
I worked Dixie again in the woods this evening. She did good. I then decided to take her hunting by herself tonight. First drop, she hunts out close, I walk in a little deeper with her. Dixie hits a track on the edge of the field then moves it in the timber. She trees. I'm not very far from her when she trees, so I slowly ease on into her she is treed on a big tree I have treed on many times and have trouble finding the coon. This time was no different, I shine and squall, I can't find it, but it is a big tree. So, I let her know she did good and we lead out. The tree she made was not very far from where I parked the truck. As we get to the truck I turn for one last look at the tree and I see the coon looking back at me. I knew she had it. This was the fourth time she has been turned loose at night since she was 9 months old, she is 11 months old now and this was my 2nd time turning her out at night. I was very happy with her getting treed with the meat. Second drop, she hunts out slow and we walk a bit. She hits up on a big oak then moves on not saying anything. She never gets struck and we head for the truck. Below is a picture of Dixie treed tonight with the meat on the first drop.

I met up with Jason Cooper for a hunt last night. Jason has a very nice young Blue male dog named Snoopy. Snoopy is out of Boomer x Sadie. I hunted Dixie. Dixie showed me several things about her last night. She showed good independence, didn't babble even when cut loose along the edge of a field. And a lot of potential. She also split treed last night and did a good job doing it. The tree was hard to shine, but I believe she had it, I seen what I thought were eyes one time and couldn't find them again. All in all I was very pleased with her performance last night. Jason's dog Snoopy did a very good job last night. He is a very nice young dog. A super nice tree dog. Jason, I had a good time hunting with you last night. You have some great hunting spots and a fine hound. Thanks for the hunt.
After, I left Jason, I decided to take Dixie by herself before I called it a night. I get to my spot, and cut her. She hunted out better than the night before. She gets struck and trees a little, pulls off and goes to checking. She was a little unsure of herself, but when she comes back in and hits the tree again, I let her know she was doing right. I found her coon. We lead out and head for Hardees, I bought Dixie a Hamburger for a job well done last night. I think she is going to do just fine. She is improving every time out and I'm really liking her. She really got me excited with her split tree last night. I believe Dixie and Snoopy were about 60 or 70 yrds split. Below is a picture of Dixie's first split tree.
