Thanks Vince, heading home today from florida but borrowed the wifes computer this morning.

cripple creek, Crockett is about 60 lbs when in hunting shape.
excellent bone structure and still has very good conformation.

I don't really know anything about Cord's mother first hand.

I had Miller's bawling Becky at my house for about 3 years, my name was never on her papers but Bob Miller gave me half interest in her after I bred her to Sackett Jr. He only hunts one dog at a time and I started one of those pups for him. Mad River Rowdy was as nice a dog as Sackett Jr's Son, was never bred and died when he was about 4 years old. He was a little smaller than Son, had more color and a bigger mouth, coondog.
Becky was out of Deanwood Drifter and a Lipper female. Bob paid $1000 for her when she was 10 months old. She had her faults, like any dog, but was a solid cooner.
Becky was sold to Mr Pali in Utah and won the state championship with a short time there. He made he Nt Ch as Bob had put 3 3rds on her before I got her.
There were two other females in that litter out of Jr and Becky.
Gr Ch Johnson Branch Breeze and Greg Shopes Nt Ch Sand Hill Dusty. Both very nice dogs

Kips dog Vayda has never been bred but I think he is planning on breeding her soon. I have a littermate to her that my nephew keeps in Ohio. I'm pretty sure that she will get bred on her next heat cycle late this spring. Not sure to what sire yet though.

When I get home, I'm hopeing to get with Rob Gregory and film his pups. He has a couple of 10 month old male pups that have been running and treeing for a few months now, they are very impressive.

There are two other litters that are about 8 or 9 months old, but most havent been worked with yet.

thanks for the info

doug, I am getting a pup here in a couple of months that its momma is 3/4s bred like crockett by a nitro male.
keep us posted on any pups, I may do some line breeding one of these days with you. would be interested in a female pup off your dog and the right female or a daughter from him and the right stud. You guys might want to look up in Indiana around new ross area, there is a son of nitro that is coming 10 that is by a sackett bred female that also is double ole coma in third gen. that is a nice stud. Gr. nt. champion owned by randy davis. red headed and blanket backed. the daddy of two time walker days winnner miss milo.

Cripple Creek, I've heard some good things about Milo, need to check him out I reckon.

We should have pups ready to go by late summer out of Crocketts daughter, Crickett.
I still haven't picked a stud yet but have a few in mind.

Hey doug.

when you get time, maybe you can post a pic of crickett and her pedigree.

I will post a pedigree of the pup I am getting later this evening. Might be late, but it should be done before tomorrow for sure.

Milo goes back to some crosses I starte back in 1981. actually a double cross on it. There are several men down south here that have built their kennels around these crosses.
they will have sackett jr at least 5 times in their pedigree as well as a ton of houses lipper, clint, and yadkin river jeff. I mean it will be stacked up like cord wood. You have to admit this list of hounds have made the walkers we are hunting today. it is almost impossible to find a walker hound living without one of these hounds in their pedigree.
I have bred these walker dogs for over 30 years and still have the same line of dogs I started with and I have always loved line breeding by stacking certain studs like you have with yours. grandsons of a stud to a granddaughter to a stud. neices to nephews and studs back to their granddaughters.

actually if you look behind sackett jr he is bred that way as well as a half brother half sister cross way back.
Rat attack has a half bro. half sister cross behind him.

when you see the pedigree I post you will see what I am talking about and why I am excited. You might want to look at milo for sure. he is ten , but the pup I am getting was artificially done and Mr davis has collected him.

you might want to talk one of your buddies into getting one of the female pups to cross back on a crockett son or if you have him collected use on the pup in a couple of years.
I plan some crosses two to three years down the road.

Like your hound a lot. seems like he has a lot to offer. great pedigree, super nice tree mouth and a good looking joker.
Hope to do some business with you down the road.

man doug. I really like your stock of

hounds and your breeding plans. You have some nice looking dogs, that have great pedigrees and great mouths and hunt in them.
I try to breed the same way. I just absolutely refuse to hunt an ugly dog. To each his own, but If I can breed, intelligence, drive, mouth, track power in a beautiful hide, then thats what I do.
sounds like we are on the same track breeding wise. I know you will do your homework on what crosses best with what your hounds throw. Not all crosses work, so that is why I study and try to make sure I breed reproducers to reproducers and try and family breed and line up certain dogs in a pedigree.

Again, I sure like what you have to offer. There are sooooo many studs out there with great pedigrees and titles. It is very hard to make a choice these days.
Good luck with Crockett and keep us posted with what you do down the road with crickett and if you breed crockett to a sure nuff nice looking female with a great pedigree.

cripple creek, thanks again for the compliments. I agree, I think we're on the same track.
I've always liked the Yadkin River blood with a little Lipper thrown in and have tried to bred that way. The better crosses on Crockett have been line bred on that blood.

I've got a few females lined up but I never count on anything until pups hit the 8 week old mark.

Still looking at cross' for Crickett and I'm sure Vayda will be bred when she comes in too.

Thanks again and if ever I can help let me know.

Crickett and Vayda are littermates
Vayda is smaller, but built more like Crockett. Crickett is taller and built a little more like her mother.
Vayda is probly 45 to 50 lbs, Crickett is closer to 50 to 55 lbs in hunting shape.

A Crockett X Anne pup on the left and the old man on the right.
This pup just turned 11 months old on the 5th of April. Owned by Rob Gregory.
Rob has 3 of these pups and has been hunting the 2 males for the last 3 months. They have been naturals, started early, running and treeing, split treeing, go by themselves and very good mouths. Really good track dogs and impressive treedogs.

Hello Doug

Here is a picture of Hank (Crockett/ Touch pup) with his first live coon. Turned it loose and he found it and treed on it. Have had him in the woods twice with an older dog. Stayed with the old dog and was at the tree every time. Coon fell out of the tree and he piled right on.

I believe he is going to be a keeper!
