Aub's been out the last few nights, enjoying some good dog work. He enjoys seeing the young dogs improve and learn from the old pros. Abram and I even got to go along on Monday night which was a lot of fun. Abram was so excited, he chatted my ear off. Good times!

looking good. i have been a killing machine myself, a total of 3 for the year lol. talked with sanderson and he isnt buying furs. says coon are $2 each right now and see's a good $5 each late in the fall. he even got a full time job this year since he wont be buying furs unless something changes. really sucks since last year i made money, this year im still making money since im not shooting 30 times all the high priced .22 ammo, lol. i dont see a point in shooting them and leaving they lay, but then again im not shooting and skinning $2 coon. good thing is the dogs look fresh and clean lol. with the weather outlook looking good next week i would think i should get at least another good week of hunting in. i hope we dont have another year like last year and get bitter cold on nov 20th and stick around for the year!!

Been a few day since I updated.....

Aubrey, Terry, Zeb, and Colton went out Friday night. They weren't out real long, and the coon weren't moving real good, but they got a few treed and had some fun.

Congrats Decorah crew on your winning the coon derby! How many years in a row now have you guys won that?! Great job red dogs. We LOVE Zeb's new mule. I'm not sure who laughed harder here, the adults or the kids! Dane's like "what's Zeb doing?!?!"

The weather was still pretty descent this weekend, so we went for a couple of short hunts with some kids that have been wanting to go.

Redwood Twisted Sister outa Rip and Dice picked up her first place win tonight 350+ no minus and 150 circled this was her first hunt she was in she is really shaking things up up her in Canada

Congrats Ty and Dan on the 1st place win with Sister! You guys have been doing a great job with her! At only 16 months old, she's got the hard one out of the way, and she'll only get better! Keep up the good work with her!

Sister is out of our Rip x Dice, and Rip goes back to some of Dan's old dogs. Dan's had a lot of success with that line, and we can see why he likes it so much. We love a good shot of it ourselves.

The one that started this mess , NITECH GRCH Two Worlds Collide. Clyde, as well as many of his pups, grandpups, and other close relations were used to tree all these coon.

Here is a throwback picture for you. This was Clyde's first season, in 2004. He had just turned a year old, and treed 63 coon by himself that season. 10 years later, and he's still getting the job done....even catches a few on the ground yet. We are thankful to have had such a hound, and to continue on with pups, grandpups, and great-grand pups out of him.

The future generation. To most pups, this would be intimidating, but given their heritage, I think they can handle the pressure.

Awesome job Guys!! I think you have a bigger pile of coon sitting on the ground in front of you guys then i shot all year!! Glad to see someone harvesting some of the coon and making a little money to pay for some dog food. You must have around 100 coon in that pic i would guess? It has been nice being able to hunt so late in Dec this year, its been a long time since i remember hunting this late. The family looks good, and Happy Holidays!!!
