Great pictures Carl, beautiful country side. We haven't been doing a lot of hunting lately. Just enjoying summer. Riley did throw together a costume for the local pet parade it was a fundraiser for the cheerleaders. Poor Ann was selected to be the horse, I don't believe it was as bad as being the cow.

Last Saturday was the ARCA Sectional at Wilton. It was a beautiful day, and as always a good time. Thanks to all who attended, and the club for putting it on.

Bedward Neosho River MnyMaker's Pup around 8 months old

had 4 tracks, 3 tracks with Maker and Speck & Speck took one by himself for bout 500 yards then lost it. Speck did a great job and he is shaping up to be just like his father. i can tell at the trees he is smelling the air around the tree to make sure the coon is up the in the tree. i love to see his genetics passing on. Speck has been hunted 3 times, has ran 8 tracks total, treed on the past 4 tracks. treed on all 3 tracks last night. i have never shown Speck a caged coon, a drag or anything along those lines. both images are actually videos, click them to watch the video

after watching the videos, i can see how speck just flat out locates and how maker doesnt just buy into the hype of a tree and actually double checks his work. i like how maker does that, i dont like walking to empty trees. i see speck is also doing that some himself.

This makes her the first ever Quad Grand Redbone female in the history of the breed, and she is one of only two currently living Quad Grands, the other being her half brother GRNITECH GRFCH GRWCH GRCH Red Fever Hot Iron Ox. Both are sired by our NITECH GRCH Two Worlds Collide, the Current #2 Reproducer. The poor girl has only been out 5 times since American Redbone Days, she's out of shape and pregnant, but a coondog is still a coondog. Congrats Aub & Dice....it's been a fun ride!

Congrats to Zeb Holksevik and CH Red Fever Fast N Furious "Fury" (Rip x Rose) on their 1st place win last night in Decorah. Fury now has 2 1st place wins, and a 7th and 9th place win from Redbone Days.....which puts her just 5 pts shy of Nitech. Sounds like she put on a nice show last night! On a side note, Zeb just started comp hunting last summer, and has finished his male, Walter (Rip x Rose) to NITECH WCH, won High Scoring Redbone at the 2014 Heartland Classic, and put these wins on Fury in that amount of time. You're doing a great job with your hounds, Zeb. Keep up the good work!

This one is from AJ Price, he has a Clyde x Rattle pup
"Hi Ann this is Aj just wanted to give you guys an update on magic I talked to Aubrey awhile back hadn't had much time to hunt too hot but since it's started to cool down and been going actually about every couple nights he has really started to come into his own he holds pressure at his own tree and best thing I like is he's not a me too dog I love that he is building his confidence a lot he has been looking like a million bucks he has been blowing 4 and 5 year old dogs out of the water. I think after this season he will be more then ready for the comp hunts"

This one is from Rob Rhinehart, he has a Tater x Dice pup
"Congrats on making Dice a quad grand! I have a young male out of her and Tater and I really like him, he is just a very sensible get it done coonhound. I may possibly put him in his first hunt next weekend."

Season opened last night, and Aub went hunting for a few hours. Took the old man NITECH GRCH Two Worlds Collide, and 2 of his grandpups, FCH GRCH Red Fever Ain't Going Down "Sunni" (Ox x Shiloh), and CH Red Fever She's Cherry (Ox x Lucy). Clyde hasn't been out of the kennel since last November, but he sure does love to hunt. You'd never know he was 11 years old. Aubrey ended up having to leash him and lead him out of the woods because he wanted to keep hunting. We'll sure miss him when he's gone, but glad to have had such a fine hound, and to have some nice pups & grandpups out of him to carry on.

looking good. i didnt shoot a single coon friday nite, and only shot two coon sat nite, one for maker and one for magnum. treed 18 times in two nites. laying on the couch ready for a nap lol

I went last night for a couple of dumps. With Jr i had one hot track and treed with a nice coon. Than a track to a hollow tree and than he took a cold track out of a corn and treed with another nice coon.

Aubrey had a fun hunt last night with Terry, Zeb, and Colton on the mules. Mules and dogs did a good job.....all four dogs had a split tree to themselves at one point during the night.

Also wanted to add this neat photo that Zeb sent over. Zeb finished Fury to Dual CH and Walter to Triple CH this year, and also was a double cast winner and High Scoring Redbone at the 2014 Heartland Classic with Walter, and Fury had a 7th and 9th place win at 2014 American Redbone Days. Great job Zeb!
