Ryan hunted Goose at Columbus last night and won high scoring dog with 400+. He was deep and alone on 2 coons. I have slowed down with football starting and Ryan has been great to keep the dogs in the woods for me. We gone stay on them. Headed to a hunt tonight. Y’all keep’em lookin up.

Congratulations on finishing Cotton to Dual Grand she sure deserved it and old Logan would be proud! Also on all of the winning you have been doing with your Goose dog this year. He must be a nice one! I am looking forward to the pup reports on the Floyd litters. You sure made some nice crosses!

GOOSE

Thanks guys. Goose has 5 wins toward GRNTCH and 3 wins towards GRCH. I hope to have him finished to Dual Grand soon. Dolly has had pups but unfortunately had only 2 pups. Ryan and I will keep those 2. Cotton is in heat and I have plans to breed her to Goose this weekend. This will be her last litter. We are hunting a pup out of Goose's only litter that is 12mths old and is a TREE DOG!! He is independent like his sire and loves to get split with the meat. He is going to be a nice hound. Ryan has done most of the work on Spanky and Spanky was a natural tree dog. Keith Sparks ( co owner of Goose ) has a pup called Hank that is a littermate to Spanky that is turning the crank too. Grant Sparks , Keith's son, has been helping hunt him and he has done everything alone without a pup trainer. He has treed a load of coons already and is getting better. Im sure we will see Grant and Hank in the hunts soon along with Ryan and Spanky. I also have plans to breed ChGrNtCh PR Lovells Smokey River Ann to Goose. We have got 2 ch wins on her and plan to get her GRCH degree to finish her to Dual Grand. That will be 2 Dual Grand gyps bred to Goose so we shall see. Goose is qualified for the world hunt so we are going to see what he can get done.

Billy I appreciate it. I remember your Spark Plug dog and he was way to young to go with cancer. I drug my feet on finishing Cotton. She raised 2 litters of pups and I sold her once and got her back from Terry and I decided that she just deserved the title and got my butt in gear. She is fun to hunt and I still enjoy hearing her screaming locate when she hits that tree. Plan to breed her to Goose this weekend.

Hunt

I haven’t been able to post much lately as I’ve been extremely busy with schools and high school football. I am also coaching a youth football team and it has cut my hunting down to a couple nights a week. We’ve been treeing a few coons. Ryan is hunting our Spanky pup a lot and he has treed several coons and is a treedog!! He is also independent like his sire Goose. I hunted Goose in a hunt Friday night and drew 100- on strike as the 8 caught him. He fell treed 12 seconds later. Oh well....
Ryan hunted him Saturday night and Goose done pretty good but treed a coon in timeout and also one right after hunt time expired. I bred Cotton yesterday to Goose and plan to breed her a couple more times. Should be a nice cross lining up old Albert and Rambo blood with a shot of Hornet and RC/Jenny. Y’all keep’em lookin up!!

HUNT

Football practice got rained out last night so I went hunting for a while. First drop we cut Goose and Spanky in a swamp bottom. Goose went left and Spanky went straight into the bottom. Spanky loaded up close to a feeder and treed good. We couldn't find his coon. Goose ended up close to the road and we drove up the road and he came out to the truck. Next drop we cut them in the hills and Spanky struck and treed again. He was in the ground and we saw an armadillo. Ryan gave him a good adjustment and recut him. Goose left the country again and I ended up driving around and catching him as he was getting on some land he didn't need to be getting on. We called it a night and it was pretty sorry gone stay on them!! Y'all Keep'em Lookin UP!!

HUNT

I hunted by myself Saturday night. First drop I cut Goose and Scout in a swamp bottom. Scout left out and went about 300yds and ended up coming back to the truck. I loaded him up and soon heard Goose open at 775yds in a swamp. He drifted out to about 980yds and located and rolled up on a tree. I made my way to him and he had 2 or 3 coons up the tree. I rolled on the smaller coons out to him and Scout. I moved up the bottom and cut Goose and Scout again. Goose shot across the bottom and Scout stayed with him. Goose fell treed at about 450yds and I headed to him. He had the meat and I rolled it out to him. Next drop I cut Goose and Scout in a big hardwood hollow. Goose hit the creek and got out of there in a hurry. Scout went across the hollow and was about 500yds in there alone. I liked his independence for a 7mth old pup. Goose got across a small road and got into some pines that are mixed with hardwood. I had to drive around to get closer and he was about 9/10's. I got out of the truck and Goose was hammering a tree. I made my way to him and soon found his coon. I had to drive around and gather up Scout and it was about 1:00 am so I called it a night. Goose went 3 for 3 and that is his strength, he will have the meat!! Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!!

HUNT

I hunted by myself last night. First drop I cut Cotton and Belle loose in a creek bottom. They headed into the bottom and Cotton soon hit the creek and headed back towards the road. The guy that owns the property on the other side in pretty honery so I just caught her trying to cross under the road on the creek. Belle ended up coming out on the road. I moved and cut both dogs down a hardwood hollow. Cotton went about 250yds and fell treed. Belle came into the tree when I got there. Cotton was on a huge oak tree full of muscadines. I looked for a little while but couldn't see the tree very well. I cut both dogs on down the hollow. I walked back to the truck and Belle soon came out and I loaded her up. I cut Goose down the hollow on the opposite side of the road. Cotton had struck and was working a track down a small branch. Goose struck in at about 600yds and started a track too. Cotton soon loaded up treed at about 575yds but was close to a gravel road. I opened the door to drive around and I heard Goose load up treed at 7/10's off the side of a pipeline. I went around to Cotton and spotted her coon from the road but never seen it again when I got into the tree. I loaded her up and drove around to Goose. I walked down the pipeline and he was treed right on the side up a small tree. I was thinking he done got him a greasy possum but I soon spotted a small coon in the top. I started shining around and soon spotted the sow another young coon across the pipeline. I called it a night and plan to hit a hunt Friday night. Goose needs 3 more to finish to GrNtCh and 2 show wins to finish to GrCh. Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!!

Hunt

I took Goose to Mayben Ms on Friday night. Got a show win and hunted in NtCh cast. I drew a walker male, English male, and Steve Wilson with GrNtCh Emma. Emma struck first and all 3 males blew out of the country. I finally heard Goose open deep and took second strike. Both of the males soon got struck. Emma’s track wasn’t good and we split the difference. Walker and English treed at . 85. I kept thinking I could hear Goose treed and Garmin was showing treed but he was about 500 yds deeper than them. We got to the tree and I heard Goose treed deeper and treed him. We didn’t see a coon at walker and English dogs tree and headed to Goose. He had the meat and gave me 200+. Emma was the other direction so we headed out towards where we last heard her. She was treed and I found her coon. She won cast with 225+.
Ryan took Goose Saturday night and won show and a NtCh cast. Treed only coon they saw in the cast. That finished him to GrCh and needs 2 more wins for GrNtCh. Y’all keep’em lookin up!!

Darren/Goose. If ya make it through, come on up early. Got 2 extra beds, new kennel pens & lots of Iowa coon to tree(taste) before the finals in Marshalltown. Live 2 hrs. east of finals. Hope to have ole Blue there to hunt too!! Take care, Ron.
