Congrats again Craig!! Good luck on the trip to Dual Grand! Sounds like he's got the tools & happy to hear your getting the time. Your bench show handler has him lookin real good & I expect we'll be seein her grinning some more.

There's some genuine coon treein littermates to him.

Apologize for not checkin in in a long time. There are some very nice hounds out of Patch showin up. He is one of them dogs that does not like grass growin under his feet & neither do the majority of his kids. Not into mass production so not a pile of pups around. Leave that to the others more knowledgable that can't let a dripper "NOT" get bred.

Not gona type a bunch of stuff but with all this conversation by those lookin for the rite kind to better their yard & our breed, may owe it to themselves to consider him. All the short comings preached about in lookin to overcome the anchor draggin are not an issue with him or the results we're getting outa the whelping box. Will not be sayin, "I can't hear him or his pups". Dominant trait is volume & as much desire as you can handle.

Have a grand day & enjoy 'Ol Blue.....

Patch

How big is patch n how many pups you guys got outta him thanks

Posted by bludawg87 on 04-23-2014 07:36 PM:

Patch

Patch is prolly around a 70-75 lb dog, but havent honestly weighed him, he's got a real solid build to him, fairly solidly muscled throughout always. And all the drive ya could want. I'm not for sure on the pup numbers, maybe dad has a more accurate count, but I'd say he's got at least 50-60+? Trying to think of litters off the top of my head and it ain't working!

Patch

Dan,

After Frog made Dual Champion I got some updated papers. They say he has 40 pups of which there are 7 Ch, 3 NiteCh, 1 GrCh, and 1 GrFCh. Hope this helps.

Patch offspring

I figured I would post a little about Frog so people can get an idea of what Patch throws.

Frog is the straightest hound that I have ever owned. He has never run a deer, an armadillo, or a opossum. All he does is tree coons. He runs coons to catch. When I say that I mean it. He has caught three on the ground so far this year. One of those was in a pond. When Frog gets on the track it is climb or die.

Frog doesn't need a leash. He has one of the best handles on him that I have ever seen. When you take him off the tree he will walk right next to you until you are ready to send him in again. If he trees across a deep creek you can call him to you. This doesn't mean that he isn't an intense tree dog. He trees about 100-120 BPM. His handle can't be attributed to me. That is natural ability and Don's (Co-Owner) ability to bring it out.

Frog is smart and has a sense of humor. I learned early on that you can't wear shorts around him because he will pants you. He apparently thinks it's funny.

Pantsing...

LOL... I think I recall Hearing a few story about those Treein Blue Dawgs pantsing Russ in the past.... lol.... The easy handling, the catching on the ground quickness and smarts... sounds like a typical dawg in this line!

Keep enjoying that Dawg and HappyHunting!!!

Thanks Ron! He is an extremely proud struttin beast, the handler. They're getting me bout ready to prance. Tail was lost due to a hunting accident so that shouldn't count against ME should it? Good seein ya, been a good while.

I'd just suggest hittin the treadmill this week to get ready for that next year. Put it on the "Steep mode" & power walk. The key is stretchin out & wakin up yer calf muscles. LOL

"Congrats to Dan, Duke & Kali on their King of show at the Nat'ls"! Also GrCh winner both days at the Heartland Classic & overall male on Friday. Cool part is he also has "NTCH" in front of his GrCh title & lookin to add another "G & a R" to it. Nice hound. Loud, Tree's a lot of settin coon. Ya wana go? Your gona if'n they ain't movin, seen it! LOL

Very happy to see them succeedin. That Flop Eared Hounddawg IS as much a part of their lives as is humanly possible. Sleepin with a 85 pound, guessin, monster long legged hound wouldn't work for us but does for them. Got his own personalized off the floor bed with one of the Foster & Smith therapeutic mattress' for day time livin. Lil 35 lb Bulldawg in bed with us makes me sweat like you can't imagine. Like sleepin in a boiler room.

Has his own permanent Sitter/Vaca residence on them rare occasions he can't go with Mum & Paww, is a family reunion he seem's to enjoy.

Gota watch that tail!! Dang Thing plum can clean off every table you got with one swipe. Shatter lamps, put holes in the drywall. Ya know, them sorta things. Bruises, unsportsmanlike hits that'll double the male species to the ground.

Dan & Kali have a pair of young & good lookin all blue female littermates from Ohio way & a male we call "Boomer" outa Duke & his Grammaw. Sister to my "Black Betty", who's is all blue & Matt's "Molly" who isn't. We currently have 6 lil ones outa the second cross. First litter the females we have are pretty loud & have purty listen'ta kinda mouths echoin outa the holler's. Male, has a loud mouth as well with a lil course'ness'ta'it.

They seem pretty devoted'ta & serious bout regaining some of his child hood is what I think collectin up this "Boomer" blood with a heavy dash of what him & his brothers carried water to soon as they was tough'nuff.

Anyways "CONGRATS" Dan & Kali!!
