more practice

Took Madi along with Cub & Augie to practice one more time before hunt in LeGrande this weekend. First drop, Girl treed on a den with Z hooking up with her. Next drop, dogs split up & Z got treed 350 yds. S of us with a coon. Girl went 700 yds. E of us to tree a double. Went down by river & of course track Z hit crossed the river & he did too. Had to go across the bridge, find a place to cross deep small creek & gather him up off big den tree.

Resting up tonight after all day rain to hunt in PC hunt tomorrow. May not win, but will give it a shot. Then, we'll get ready for youth hunt/shows coming up. Take care, Ron.

slow week

Didn't do any good last weekend @ Pro Classic, but there was a lot of good dogs hunting & only 4 are going to win of 16 entered. We did get CW @ Arthur, Wisc. Monday night with Girl.

Took the rest of week off with this heat & humidity moving in. I'm ready for cooler weather already. Take care, Ron.

Good week

Didn't hit it hard because heat, but did tree a few & saw a lot more crossing the roads. Kits are all over & getting 'smucked' on the road.

Madi hunted Girl in Troy Mills & got a CW with 550+ on Thurs. night. Had some good competition, but things went her way. Think they treed 6 coon during the hour.

Last night took a crew to Brooklin, Wisc. for State youth hunt. Reece Vacek showed Freak & won Best Bluetick female in open show. Then he won his cast in hunt with Freak with 125+. Got some hardware for first time ever at a coon hound event.

Madi showed CH Rolin Blue Lil Bit Country & won CH female, then overall best of show for Wisc. State Championship. Hunter won same award with her last year. Madi hunted Girl & won cast with 600 circle, but couldn't get coon to look from 3 trees they made, so didn't place in hunt, but had a good hunt.

Hunter had no luck in hunt, but did hunt with real nice Redbone female that won 1st place in hunt with 500+ that Shane Maxey used to hunt. Take care, Ron.

updates

Been slow going for the last bit. Heat & humidity have slowed down hunting for us. Starting to change a little now, so will be hitting it more.

Took my grand kids to Trader youth hunt a couple weeks ago & both came up a bit short on getting CW. Then, had transmission go out of truck shortly after starting home. Just got it fixed on Friday. Thank god for extended warranty insurance.

Had a nice cool down for last night, so Cub handled Girl at RQE in Pearl City, Ill. After 2 big cornfield races, we ended up getting a CW with 225+, 175 circle. Headed to Troy in Sept. to try our luck. Girl has over $950 for year in other KC earnings, so are having a good year. Take care, Ron.

Just to catch up on things, since my last post. Been winning a few casts with Girl. She finished in top 10 of state race for last year with over $950 won. Hunted her at SS & Madi got a cast win early on Wed. night, but had no luck late.

Cutting down on a couple nice females that are ready to tree coons on their own. Don't want them to miss a good season sitting in pen. Josh bought Queeny back to use in his kennel.

I would also sell Marley. Her pedigree is on page one. Dark, nice built hound that will tree coon consistantly on her own & just turned 2 last April. Call me at 563-879-3593 if you might need a good young female or know someone looking for one to hunt & show. Take care, Ron.

Also have 1 yr old reg. Feist male that someone can have for giving it a good country home. Very friendly & attentive barking at squirrels & ground hogs on his chain.

Ron thank you for taking great care of her. We just scored 712.5 to win a Ukc cast. She looked amazing. Shut em out on one coon. Tell Hunter come down for a hunt anytime.

Has been sold. Headed to Missouri on Monday.
