Some people are easier to impress than others. I would be impressed if they were in the top 4 in the standings.

Fancy did make it up to #6 today. Good luck to Jared and Fancy at CHKC Redbone Breed Championship hunt tonight.

Oh my goodness, Boone has 4 offspring in the Top 16 now. I guess that deserves "honorable mention". But it changes every week now. I guess that the weather has put a damper on the hunting up there this week. I haven't heard anything about Clifford or Bell lately.

The pressure is on now. Spring starts Monday. There are only 2 weeks left to get them ready for the S/S. And only 3 weeks until the Baby Stakes. I bet that the Deer Creek boys will be in the woods every night now.

I have been in the woods the last 2 Nts. Bruiser looked good. He treed 2 two coons in about 20 minutes, a den and a Pine Tree. All in about an 1.5 Hrs. I just kept cutting him and he would go in and find a track push it then sit down and tree.
Fancy did good last night, having a a coon, a tree in a big log pile and a Slick that leaned over a Big Rock Ledge. I guess I'm going to start calling this the Ghost Coon. Cause its the 3rd time I've treed on it this winter, the coon has an escape route over the ledge somewhere.
More impressive is My little 9 month old Chloe female out of Boone and Cat. She is full of drive. She is now hunting by herself and running track good. She is still a bit loose on the tree, but she is independent as heck and does not care what everything else is doing around her. I'm really starting to like her. She has a loud mouth and when she locks down she trees hard.

I've been running poor Daniel pretty hard lately. It's really starting to get hard on me cause I only have one big woods to Hunt and every one knows how that goes hunting the same place all the time. The other night he went over a dang mile. He's really starting to look pretty good. Not to mention he's been getting a few treats for it to !! Lol

Tyler, I would sneak over and try out some of Jared's spots. I have them marked on my Garmin. He would start wondering what that bad smell was or why Bruiser kept coming back stinking like he had rolled in something dead.

Posted by Richard Lambert on 03-18-2017 02:49 PM:

Tyler, you should have gone last night. Jared was off getting another Nt Ch win with Bruiser. He never would have known. What is going on with Clifford? Has Justin quit hunting? I haven't heard a word. Is he not going to be ready for the Baby Stakes?

Posted by tpettit on 03-18-2017 02:57 PM:

Richard, I did go. I was the one hunted bruiser!!

Bruiser got NT Ch win #3 tonight. Had 425+ 525 circle and O minus. He looked pretty good.

Bruiser is on a roll. I hope that it continues on through the S/S. Is he the only one from that litter that is doing anything?

I just got back from my long walk to the big red dog. He and rocket took a little stroll Friday night and my truck man failed me miserably. Kept getting play by plays on the Bruiser cast but they all shut up when I asked for a ride. Good friends I have I tell you.

I don't know what we'll do on babystakes yet. I have to survive that week first, then we'll decide.

After the SS I'm going to put Boone on a weight loss program.

The weekend of playing is over and it is time to get back to work. Bruiser is ready now so I guess that it is Fancy, Daniel and Clifford's turn to go tonight.

Clifford is going to get some quality alone time in the woods for a while. Since it's officially "spring" I guess I can start him now.

Oh my goodness, now you know good and well that Clifford can't tree a coon all by himself. You just want to get out and not have to walk to a tree.

Posted by Richard Lambert on 03-21-2017 02:45 PM:

Tyler are you taking Bo down to Flora?

Posted by tpettit on 03-21-2017 02:47 PM:

What's in flora?

I'm hoping the fact that I just want to set around will be enough to prod him along to go do something like tree one!

Well how did it go last night? We had a bad storm here last night so I couldn't go.
