The last two pictures above is the sire and Dam of Gr.Ch.Gr. Nite Ch. "PR" Misty river Blue Doll 11. Gr.Ch.Gr. Nite Ch."PR" wheats Playtime Blue Molly and Gr. Ch.Gr.Nite Ch. "PR" Smokey River Tramp's Blue Lake and several more that were somewhere else. I bred Doll To Tramp three
times and each one of the dogs listed above came out of different litters. Doll 11 was out of the 1st litter. Lake was out of the second and Molly was out of the last litter. Doll 11 was also the 2003 Mississippi State Champion. Grand nite Ch. winner both Friday and Saturday night and high scoring dog over all. I'll tell lake's story next.

Later the rest of the story.

The picture above is Dual Gr. Nite Ch."PR" Misty River Tramp's Blue Lake. Lake and I roamed these Pearl River Swamps a lot of nights and he was a good one. He was a coondog and a reproducer. I have two females off of him now that are still with me. Lakes sire was Dual Grand Smokey River Jeans Blue Tramp. His dam was Dual Gr. Misty River Blue Doll. Lake won a lot of hunts.

How did you come up with the name, Lake? I know there is some meaning in it.

Tommy, I've always tried to give my dogs a name that would be easy to call in a competition hunt. One day the name Lake came to me and I thought that would be a good name for a dog, and when Lake came along that's what I named him. I didn't come up with naming the original Doll female. I had the Misty female here and Mr. Phillup Tucker wanted to borrow her and raise a litter of pups off his Sledge Hammer dog. He got her and bred her and he raised a litter of pups and when the pups were about 4 months old he gave me This female, well when I got the papers and looked at them. Phillups wife had already named her Misty River Blue Baby Doll. When I saw the papers I knew that I couldn't handle that and I didn't want to hurt his wife's feelings. I didn't really like the name Baby or Doll, but I left the name Doll. I guess I liked the Doll female so much that I named a whole string of them Doll.

Chris, I'm sure sorry I missed you. I know you and Steve had fun. Steve is a great host.

male out of Dutch grandson to Lake

Mr.Jack I really enjoy reading your thread and looking that the pictures I've learn quite a bit about the back ground of the Misty River dogs. I have a male that I bear hunt here in WV he is out of Bill Goodes Dutch dog. Woody (the male off of Dutch) is a solid bear he turns 6 years old this year and I couldn't ask for a better hound. I've been meaning to send you some pictures and never really got chance so here are a few t

Thanks and take care,Brandon

Big Game

Thank you Mr. Brandon For the pictures and It pleases me very much to know that these hounds can make it in the big game world. Ive heard of a few of them back through the years that did good in it, but I really don't know what it takes to make a great Bear dog. I've never been Bear hunting. I have read several of your articles on yours and Bills thread and am quite familiar with Woody and his success. He is a beautiful animal. I have two of Dutch's Sisters here, one is a littermate and the other is a litter younger and they have done well. I wish the best to you and woody. Jack

"PR" Misty River Blue Doll 111

Posted by Misty river on 02-08-2016 01:48 AM:

The Misty River Line

The picture above is "PR" Misty River Doll 111. Her sire was Gr.Nite Ch."PR"Smokey River Cheif's Joe owned by Mr. Dennis Elbrader of Kansas. Doll 111's Mother was Gr.Ch.Gr. Nite Ch."PR"Misty River Tramp's Blue Doll 11. A lot of people have asked me, since Doll 111 was never titled. If she was any good. I assure them that she was as good as any of them. I was hunting Doll 11 and Lake and I'm sure a couple of more and I just never took her to town. Doll 111 was not only a coondog, she was a reproducer. The first time I bred Doll 111 I bred her to the ole Tramp dog. I kept a young male dog here that was a good one, before he was two years old he was a grand Bench Champion and a Nite Champion with two wins toward Grand Nite. He was at Jeremy's one night and two Rotwielers broke into his pen and killed him. The Next 3 times I bred her to Lake. I have Two females here with me today out of Lake and Doll 111 and they are good ones. Ch.Nite Ch."PR" Misty River Blue Doll 1V And Gr.Ch.Gr.Nite Ch."PR"Misty River Blue Sheba. My Good friend Mr. Bill Goode from W.V. owns the Dutch dog that is a brother to Doll 1V and Sheba. Bill is real proud of Dutch and I am proud of them. Also Mr. Dan Krut of Pa. owns a brother to them. You guys in their area that have females to breed don't over look them. Doll 111 along with all the rest of the dogs that I owned are laid to rest Here in my yard, except for Doll 11 and she is in Texas

The Misty River Line

The dog in the picture above is Grand Nite Ch."PR" Smokey River Cheif's Joe. Joe is owned by Mr. Dennis Elbrader of Kansas. I never got to go hunting with Joe so I caint say to much about him. Everyone that I talked to about him said that he was the real deal. I know that he blended into my dogs good, and I liked what I got from him. Two friends of mine were keeping Joe in this area. Mr. Jerry and Oneal Wheat and they said that he was a good one, and I also liked what he was out of. Joe was out of Nite Ch."PR"Smokey River JBS Chief and Gr.Nite Ch.Ch.Smokey River Jeans Blue Ruby. Ruby was a Littermate sister to Tramp. Next I'll tell about Doll 1V.

"PR"Misty River Blue Ramblin Smoke

Posted by Misty river on 02-11-2016 03:57 AM:

The Misty River line

Before I get to Doll 1V and the dogs that are still with me. I have a couple of young dogs that I would like to tell a little about. I had nothing to do with the Breeding on the Smoke dog pictured above. That credit goes to Mr. Rocky Cundiff and Mr. Cory Mailes. I always thought a lot of Mr. Cory Mailes and his hounds and I always wanted to breed one of my females to one of his stud dogs, but for some reason either timing or miles or whatever it never happened. A friend of mine got Smoke From Mr. Rocky Cundiff as a pup. And as Clayton always hunted with me, I had the opportunity to watch him from the first time out. The first time out he treed a possum, but he did it right. and from there on he went right on to work. It wasn't long before Clayton with his family and work schedule decided that he did not need a coondog , so he let me have Smoke and I went to putting the hunting on him and he responded. Smoke is now somewhere around 18 months old and is making a nice dog. He is not in the Misty River Line yet, but if nothing happens to him or me he will be. His sire is Gr.Nite Ch.Ch."PR"Mailes Blue Sue's Rattler and his Dam is Gr.Nite Ch."PR"Racket Ridge Weezie. I have had Smoke in two hunts and he has a 1st place win.

Nite Ch. "PR" Misty River Blue Gin

Posted by Misty river on 02-13-2016 04:23 AM:

The Misty River Line

The picture above is Nite Ch "PR" Misty River Blue Gin. Her Sire is Gr.Ch.Nite Ch."PR"Hillbilly's Smokey River Dutch HTX
owned by Mr. Bill Goode of West Virginia. Her Dam is Gr.Nite Ch.Gr.Ch."PR"Vining's Hammer Head owned by Mr. Scott VH of Wisconsin. Gin has all of the Misty River Dogs behind he on her sire's side, as Dutch is a littermate brother to my Doll 1V female, but I didn't have anything to do with the breeding of Gin, all that credit goes to Mr. Bill Goode. I was just lucky enough to get one of the pups. I got Gin here almost on her 1st birthday and she had never been fooled with. I started hunting her and she went right to work, she was a natural and yes she is Monkey Faced.
