What the Braves got in Grilli is a heap of junk. If he was a vehicle, he would already have been crushed and sent across the seas for our enemies to make bullets to shoot at us later. He is in reality a very poor closer, and one can only laugh when Freddie calls the pen and says warm up my closer. If only John Hart would wake up and get shed of them both. Pitiful times in Atlanta as far as coaching and pitching goes. Real sad thing is they do have some folks that can play, but they get no support.

Its safe to say the last division flag has flown in Turner Field. Maybe they will get one for the new stadium being built in preppy ville.

if the braves had a manger and just a little bit of relief pitching they would be 5 games in front. how they have played 500 ball i have no ideal unless the nl east just flat out stinks. freddy to me seems like he would rather be doing something else,i dont know the times ive seen him lately standing there just a yawning during the game. the biggest mistake atlanta has made is hireing him and the second is john hartless. lol

I agree with you Skeets. They seem to be winning in spite of the lack of leadership the organization has, and the fact that the bull pen is useless. The play hard in spurts. I will give them credit for beginning to play with some heart. The new additions of young players has helped, and if they would make a few bull pen moves before the deadline, they may be able to contend for the division or wildcard spot before season end........but wait.....they still have FREDDIE!

That was nice of the Royals fans to allow Miguel to play with "their" all-star team. What a joke. Infante an all-star? Haha! This voting process ranks right up their with World Series Wild Card teams. MLB is going to he!! in a hand bag. Next they will probably want to make pitchers bat like they did back in the old days.

Pitchers batting is not a bad thing. The all-star voting is nothing but a joke. The game itself has importance, but having the fans pick the players is truly sad. The folks in the game itself should be picking the all-stars. A players vote would surely be better than a bunch of fans from one town jamming the internet to vote their 9 in. The AL is in for a rude awaking and a mass a&* whipping in the game.

What did you all think about Scherzer not getting his perfect game? Was that not pretty lame of that guy to lean into a pitch in that situation? Besides being unethical, is that not something that should be able to be reviewed? Getting hit by a pitch intentionally? That was just plain sorry. I hope he's remembered for that for a long time.

Haha...did you all hear about the Tigers last night? So we were down pretty good by the Pirates but we still had a chance. Down 4. Tigers bring in my favorite relief pitcher Joba Chamberlain in the top of the 8th. He pitched 2/3's and served up 3 dingers! haha...that's awesome! Keep running him out there. Never get's old. I'm going to laugh if the Braves end up with Joba.

just when I was beginning to think this bunch had a chance to be a wildcard, here comes the real Braves. Pure and simple, there is no reason the Rockies should sweep anyone. AWFUL at best.

Footnote: Grilli may be done for season. I hate to see anyone hurt, but.......he needs to go too.

Well boys....I just ran the totals and at the half way point David "L" Linkous is winning our baseball pool proving once again that it's better to be lucky than good. He has correctly placed 4 out of 6 divisions at the half way point. Quite a few of us have 3 correct. In case anybody was wondering Wendell Bond only has 1 correct.

I am ready for the all-star break. Need to let my blood pressure settle back down some.

I don't know Rock. They were interviewing the Tigers GM yesterday and he was being pretty evasive regarding trade deals. If they do they can throw in the towel because our starting pitching is in a world of hurt right now.
