Travis Saunders is bringing over his female this week to breed to Tramp. She is off of dual GrNtCh Brummy x a female off of Gauge. She has money won in PKC and Travis enjoys hunting her, and speaks highly of her accuracy.

TRAMP X DOT

am really liking this 2 month old pup. I couldn't ask for a better acting pup. I did a little work with her on the bench yesterday. She doesn't mind standing still. I don't know if I have ever had a pup exhibit so much brain power at a young age as this one. She will be fun to see her progress.

9-8-15 HUNT

Took my son, who turned 3 on Sunday, and 2 yo Hank (Pounder 2 x Mid American Rage) out for a dump tonight. While Hank moved a track out of the corn field to the field edge, Mason and I listed from the tail gate. I let him play with the camera and he got some cute pics, and I got some pics of him with Hank as well. I wish every night could be like this.

Tonight is my favorite night of the year. Opening night of hide season. I am a coon hunter by heart, and competition hunt to pass the time as I just love coon hunting, and spending time with these hounds. Good luck to all taking to the woods with hound and rifle, and be safe!

I got too busy being obsessed with deer hunting during the month of November, I only coon hunted 2 nights. I have had the itch bad lately, so Buck came up and brought Blaze and Bud. We turned Blaze and Hank loose in a corn field and they treed a den, and then we cut them from there and they went 500 yds and treed another one. The woods we were in is full of dens so that is the way it goes. We then took them home and got Tramp and Bud. Bud is 10 yrs old and hasn't been hunted in 11 mos. Tramp and Bud were split treed every time, and Bud made 3 dens, and Tramp pulled up short on his first tree with a coon sitting up a few trees down, and then he treed a coon to end the night. This is probably the longest Tramp has been laid up in his life so I wasn't too upset, and I can't wait to get out again.

Tramp x Emma

Pups were born 11-8-15. 2 males and 4 females. Emma is via Clyde Murphy's Dual GrNtCh Blue Iron Brummy and a female from NC out of Dual GrNtCh Blue Creek Gauge. The pups are just starting to eat dog food and will make excellent Christmas presents! Get a hold of me if you're interested in one.

I'm actually glad all the deer madness is over and the weather is still AWESOME! Time to get some coon huntin done and see if there are some dumb ones left. We got 2 last night out of 3 trees. I don't care what the prices are, coon hunting in it's purest form is fun!

Hope everyone is having a safe and happy holiday season. We welcomed Adeline Rae into the world on September 14th this year so I didn't make it to many hunts, and didn't make it out very much for our hide season thus far. It is still open for another cpl of months and I will start hunting more now when weather and time allows. I have started doing taxidermy and feel like I am working 2 full time jobs lately. I can't complain, cuz I am enjoying it very much, just wish there was more hours in the day. I thought back to this past year and the hunts I went to, which wasn't much. I went to our Heartland Classic 4 Wheeler hunt, and Tramp won 1 out of 2 casts. We also went to the Bluetick Reunion and won 1 out of 2 NtCh casts for the weekend. Then there was the Zone 3 BBOA Championship in which Tramp won his cast both nights, and ultimately won King of the Hunt, but missed out on NtCh wins both nights. It was exciting as he won a nail biter against the GrNtCh dbl cast winner. Then the last hunt for the hear I made it to was the Iowa State BBCHA Championship where Tramp won NtCh's and ultimately King of Hunt. He finished the year winning 5 out of 7 casts, 2 King of Hunts, and ended up with 1 NtCh win when the smoke settled. Hopefully we can make it to a few more hunts this year and finish him out. Once finished he will be able to sire an all GrNtCh pedigree, which doesn't mean a lot to some, but I think it will be pretty cool. Since I didn't get a bluebook ad in this year, this post will have to suffice. Hope everyone got what they wanted from Santa, and 2016 is a happy and healthy year for all.

Haven't been hunting hardly at all this Fall/Winter. If I was still hunting as much I would be owning a couple prospects that have popped up recently. 18 mo old male out of Jet x Dot is for sale $500. He is running and treeing on his own and not backing others on slicks, I'm told. It is the male I named Dozer and kept for a period of time. He was running and treeing cats real well when I let him go. Really wouldn't mind having him back, but that wouldn't make much sense for me right now. There is also still a male available from Tramp x Emma. He is a good lookin and acting pup. Again, I'd really like to scoop him up, but it wouldn't be the right thing to do.

Thanks for the birthday wishes, that means a lot. I wish I had something else to talk about, but I just haven't been hunting. Haven't been out since December 2nd to be exact. I haven't gone that long without unsnapping a dog since I don't remember when. I worked real hard at getting some mounts done for a month or so, and now Nikki has picked up some extra shifts so I haven't had the time to work on the deer mounts either, but I've gotten to spend time with my kids so it is a win. What little free time I have had has been spent coyote hunting. I sure do enjoy calling them in, and it has been a great year. Here is one I got just before dark today. First one I've ever called in that took its time coming in. Normally you can't get the gun up fast enough.

Finally made it out, I couldn't take it any longer. 1st dump Tramp struck, then about 50 yds in a snarl and it was done before I could get to him. Sent him from there, and he went 140 yds and treed on a hollow log with a coon inside. Next spot, he treed a coon after getting in there quick, and then ended with a den. All tracks seemed to be short, but I was also out early so my son could tag along. Here is a video from last night.

Went to Buck's last night and we went out for a cpl dumps. Saw a coon in every tree hunting Blaze and Tramp. Couldn't have asked for a better hunt. Thanks for taking me Buck. With any luck we'll be ready for the Dave Dean hunt.

A female from Tramp x Emma is for sale. They just turned 4 mos old. I have gotten great early reports on this litter. My little female is gonna be a TREEDOG, and she is very bold. She has the type of personality you sometimes swear she understands human language as she is very smart.

Emma is directly out of Clyde Murphy's Dual GrNtCh Brummy and a female out of Dual GrNtCh Blue Creek Gauge.
