Mr Morton

Friday night Steve Stader hunted Maggie and he tied in his cast and lost on tie breaker. She had to come out of the hole but put 4 up on the outside.
Lumber and I took 125- on a tree then treed the coon with 3rd treed. We spent the rest of the night in the same spot in cut overs
Next night we hunted hills. The dogs struck and went down a holler but came down a loggin road where we was and all got minused. Lumber hit a few trees he was winding on but didn't settle. They treed a den and by the time I got out of there my leg was done with 32 min. left and we hadn't seen a coon. One dog on the last turn took a real fast trip out out hearing the other treed and the young dog kinda was in and out then while going to the dog treed with 3 minutes left in the hunt the pup slip 10 yard beside the other that was treed and barked treed and of course had the coon and won. I was sitting on the tailgate.
Steve hunted Maggie Saturday and got beat she made a mistake and couldn't catch up but she sure was giving it a heck of a try. She is a quick treedog.

I hope we get another chance to do out again. Lumber was winding a lot of coon walking out. They didn't move as well as I hoped there or maybe I need a better dog. Hmm

Daniel Morton hunted Witchy I took lumber. We managed to tree one on the outside. We also took a scar female.
That Witchy dog is one heck of a treedog and sure can move a track.

Hating on coons and are intense about it. So far so good. Boldest pups I have raise thus far. Getting good reports

Hunted Maggie alone tonight!

First track she wen about 600 yard struck and treed with the meat.
Second drop she went in 728 yard struck and track and worked it a little then treed for her second coon on the outside
Third drop she had her work cut out for her and she tapped a tree then moved and tapped another she didn't like then went in another 250 yards and bang she treed and and her third coon looking down. Josh Riley and I called it a night. He is going to handle her in a few hunts while I worl on Lumbers titiles

Charlie Wyatt and I managed to get two the limb in two drops. I had Lumber he hunted his Shot dog and his dog did a great job on the second coon alone.

Lumber alone last night

He went in about 400 yards and looked all over for about 40 minutes then he picked a tree but did sound so good on it so I let him tree for about 30 minutes and decided to go in and see what was up. Of course as I got closer the more he liked it. It was a ole layup coon up there sleep.
I made two more drops with him and got nothing so I called it a night.

Took Lumber he scored 725+ with 75- =650+ with 200 circle for his FIRST PLACE WIN!!!!!!
3 First trees.

Maggie got another win on the bench towards Gr Show but didn't do any good in the hunt both nights

Lumber is doing decent and seems to be headed in the right direction. If I'm lucky enough to finish him to Nite ch then I will start his own thread.l

Magics pups are really hating on coons at 5 months old. His only litter at this point and that's OK because I have one and that's all that matters. I will continue to raise a train a good coondog that can and will win in competition hunts. I like them.
I refuse to breed slick treeing idiots and if I can keep the trash runners out of what I'm doing I will. It takes time and patience with any bloodline and being selective on what your keeping and putting into your program. Time will tell.

I'm going to try to go to more hunts this year. I'd like to go to BLUETICK DAYS. I'm on vacation all week so who knows. If I have these stud dogs I might as well promote them a little. Maybe even get lucky and pick up a win here or there.

Good night of hunting

Got a call and Daniel tells me Kane's first night in the woods on the second drop he goes in with the dogs and they catch one on the ground. He was there tooth and nail. 5 months old. Magic x Maggie cross.

I hunted Lumber with Terry Estill he had Spud we hit a hot one and the drove that coon. Lumber got first tree and with the meat. We made a second drop and Lumber treed in a hole in a pond bank. We called it a night!

Lumber picked up another First Place win

It wasn't his best work but he won the cast 250+ and that's all I needed. Now just one more place and he will be Nite champion so time will tell.

Thanks Darren! I try to have a couple that will tree a coon somehow. Lumber is still learning and seems to be doing the right things. I know at this point he as passed on all trash even with other running it and that helps
