Kill season is here. I hope my young dogs get something done tonight, I don't have lady at the kennel to make it look easy because she is at Scotts getting in shape for the oil field 5000. I don't like killing much until later Nov. because they're not prime. Good luck to all.

seen 7 coon on opening night, but 5 was in a barn, 1 was laid up that we seen going to the barn and treed 1. Jack did a good job, mine didn't do much. He seems to have a good nose. Looks like all the pups out of lady's last litter are going to make nice dogs.

GET THAT KENNEL COMPLETE? AD A PIC. TELL OLE SCOTT HELLO FOR ME. TRIED CALLING HIM AWHILE BACK BUT NUMBER I HAD WOULD NOT WORK. SEVERAL OTHERS HERE SAID THE SAME. TREED 5 IN THREE TREES THE OTHER NIGHT WITH MY FEMALE OUT OF DRUM.

My Hoss dog treed his first bear last night by him self. He didn't stay at the tree but my dads English dog came in a little late and treed good and that bear was still in the tree. Never would thought it would still be there.

Thanks. This last litter out of lady has a lot of track in them and nobody would ask for more, but they seem to be lacking the good hard treeing ability. They will tree and can tree hard just seems they are a little lop sided on the two, but at a year and a half they should be fine. I just think that your breeding program for bear/coon dogs is a better fit for what I'm looking for than some others around. I demand a colder nosed hound, one that can run a track 1.5 miles late Jan. and tree it and not be looking at slicks all the way to it. I'm waiting till bear season is over to decide witch female to try, but I will be trying the cross if we can work things out. Good luck in your bear season, I will be hitting as much as possible in the next few weeks and hope the weather holds out.

Three nice boars Saturday night. Lady did great as usual, but Hoss needs some more work on the tree.

Not sure on how Bandit is bred because I haven't sent the papers in, like to wait and see if they make the cut first. Lady's Fathers side has some old utchman in it but we haven't talked about any utchmans right now to try a cross. Do you have one in mind? I'm always looking for some nice ones but I demand a very good nose, better than most would want. Its nothing for her to take a 5 hour track in winter and have the meat at the end. That's why I have such long tracks and long walks, but don't mind if they stay and have it.

The crud went through the whole family the past week and half. Everybody is feeling better but now the weather is getting bad. Don't mind hunting in the cold or snow just don't like it when the wind chill is below zero. This weekend I'll get me some more action.
