Upcoming Cross

UPCOMING CROSS
Well been trying to make this happen for nearly two years now.
Got a female out of Hornet and my old Dual Grand Frostbite leased to raise a litter of pups. Dixie is a coondog from a litter of coondogs. Terry Tibbs Razor male is her brother. Just waiting now for her to come in heat. She is 7 yrs old and is a good blocky headed gyp and is a clean, Hard Tree dog.

Hunt

Hunted Monday night and last night. Cotton seems to be pretty dependable to get gone and get treed. Monday night turned witch, dolly, and train ( partners with josh cole) They struck off some fish heads my buddy had thrown out. Unfortunately it was a red hot fox getting him a fish head dinner. Dolly quit and came in and I shocked witch. Train quit and came in after females were caught up. Turned Cotton loose. Struck old track in at 325 yds, worked around and set up tree. Ended up moving down bottom 100 yds and loaded up right. Den tree. Last night turned cotton down big holler. She struck in at 200 yds worked good track around and crossed paved road. Up on hill other side slammed tree and had meat. Turned her out again, struck at 200yds bad track. Moved it good for while but fell apart. Called her in and turned dolly alone. She struck at about 150 yds and treed. Got nearly to her she left. Figuring it was a possum. She left country on me. Drove around an caught her, called it a night.

rocky made a slick turned him off that tree he went in about 200 yrds and was havin a hard time finding the tree in that water but he settled on one and had it. shook it out and treed it again shook it out again and treed it one more time shook it out again and i dont know where that coon went cause he disappeared. this all happened in about 40 yrds and every tree was in water the dogs had to swim in. my little pup was right in there swimmin with them.

Headed to Alabama State Hunt tomorrow. Gone show cotton. Don't know how this hunting dog will fair against them show dogs. Got a few coon teeth scars and lots of scratches on the ears!!! Lol. We shall see.

Cotton

Hunted cotton last night. We had a ACHA hunt at our club. Really didn't want to hunt her in it but got talked into it. 3 casts went out in rain, thunder , and lightening. 1 hour hunt. Turned Cotton with a walker dog , other walker withdrew cause of rain. Walker went 200 yds got treed. Blowed top out. Cotton ignored him and struck about 400 yds in bottom working cold track. No coon seen. Turned him to her , he went back and retreed on same tree. Cotton kept working her track. Thunder lightening and HARD rain made it difficult to hear. Hour ran out and walked in where Cotton was working down a big swamp. Called her out. Soaking wet but was pleased she went on and did her own thing. That was the first time she had been turned with another dog in two months. Gone continue to hunt her alone.

Congrats to Jason Myers and Rocky. He got first last nite at the ACHA hunt in Hamilton last night. He treed the only coon seen in the hunt. Jason and my son walked over a mile to rocky treed in rain and thunder and lightning. Rocky will get gone and get hooked.

Hunting

Be headed out tonite, hope wind lays down some. Hunting ole Cotton alone. Hopefully she will get some treed!! Myers ole Drake is a tough one like his ole man LOL!!! I am proud of him and glad he likes to go. He is a good hunting partner that dont mind when it gets rough. He loves this coonhunting. He is 15 so I hope he keeps it going instead of chasin them girls. He is wanting him a toyota 4x4 and wanting a dogbox in it. Wont be long!!

Hunt

Well didn't have the best hunt last night. Turned Dolly alone. She went 250 yds and fell treed. Possum, shook him out to her and she caught it on ground. That thing was half electric eel because it shocked her pretty good. Lol. She went to the truck. Turned Cotton alone. She went 325 yds struck track. Opened very little but moved it about 150yds. Treed on big den. Turned Cotton alone again. Wheeled around behind me up on side of hill with hardwood timber. Made big circle and went about 275 yds down holler. Fell treed on big den tree. Called it a night. Been getting up at 5:00 am training a new route salesman. Been sort of sleepy eyed a few mornings. Lol.

Thanks Darren, Cotton has been doing pretty good. She still shows her inexperience at times but if coons are stirring she can get them treed in style. She struggles some with old bad tracks, but I think she will get better with age. She hasnt had another dog to do any of the work for her. She has been alone so whatever happens good or bad is ALL HER!! Just gone stay after her. I have been thru a ton of blue dogs in the last two years and she is still here so she has something I like. When she is treed right, any Walker dog man would like her!! Hope you get better and have a fast recovery from your surgery.

PUPS

If every thing goes well, I will have a litter of pups that i am extremely excited to get here. Bred Dolly to my old GrChPR Southern Blue Jet hound that I bought back from Frank Rhodes. I sold him to Frank when he was about 19mths old. Jet started quick at 6mths old treeing with old dogs and at 9mths old could tree his own coon. He was a TREE DOG!! Classy, clean and hard up on the wood tree dog. Frank hunted him hard but didnt competition hunt. Ole Jet treed Frank a ton of coons. Thanks to Frank for letting me have him back to raise a litter of pups. He is out of a coondog pedigree, his sire is My old Dual Grand PR Southern Blue Moonshine hound. I hunted ole Jet at 10 yrs, he had not been out of pen in over a year and he made a couple young dogs look silly treeing two coons behind them. Dolly has a first in ukc and hope to ntch her after the pups get here!!

Hunting

Got a treeslamming hillbilly bred gyp here. Big mouth, good tree dog. Ain't been hunted hard for awhile. 4 yrs old. Seen her do good work. Waitin on her to go out of heat and put some hunting on her to see what she can do.

can people not hear? them two walkers i was hunting against last night got some minus and treed a coon and little rocky sittin on the other side of the mountain i mean mountain with a coon and nobody but me can hear him. bad break i guess. better luck next time. darren you know rocky is nice right? here for the last 3 weeks that sucker has been super dog. i have been to alot of trees and there hasnt been but one that was slick the rest have been dens and a whole lot of coons. just think buddy i was going to sell out and get some stinkin beagles!! i have done some stupid thing in my like but that would have bet them all... lmao
