Todd

Andrew is doing a mighty fine Job with Jon. He won both his casts this weekend & last night was high scoring dog, they hunted it off in the late round & jon came out on top. He is a real coondog no matter what the nay sayers want to believe. He's proved himself time & time again & in less than 1 yr of hunting the money hunts he's won over $5000!! That speaks volumes for his ability..

Thanks for the link Brian...

Congrats to all!!! He's one hell of a dog. For all that know the tale of Ole John Henry, I named him after that character when he was just 11 weeks old (or so). He just looked and played the part. When he was here in Maryland a year and a half later, I hunted him most every night for about a month and a half and I never went to a tree that wasn't with coon, or legitimately circled. I can say with confidence, he's the most accurate dog I've ever been in the woods with (bar none), and he's TRUE on track and tree. No bugger barking, no B.S. He's allll business. I had to stop hunting him here because he wanted to be by himself 85% of the time and we just don't have the coon for a split on every drop, but he never missed one in 50 days of hunting for me! Cool thing is, John Henry wasn't quite 2 years old at that time (if memory serves me). Feels good to see him coming into his own. Also, BIG Thanks to Mark Lucas for believing the the B3 dog enough to make that cross!

Ramon, it is good to see that you are still around after all of your trials and tribulations with the Reddogs. I bet that you are tickled pink that all of the BIII offspring are turning up in the winners circle now.

Richard...

I knew what the B3 dog was, and what he was producing. I'm just glad that a couple got into the hands of folks who understood how to expose it. I gave three litters away, and most of those ended up with folks who didn't competition hunt. Most competition hunters acted like I was the bad guy...... Their loss. Even with three litters that ended up not getting a fair change, the dog has 2 Grands Nites and 7 Nites (that I know of), with only 66 pups on the ground... The most well known of which is John Henry. Glad that the breed has him. :-)

Now chew on this... There will be more! LOLOLOL

I know, you sure told us enough. I guess that we just did not believe you. But I guess that you have showed us now. 9 out of 66 is a pretty good percentage.

Richard...

I'm not showing anybody anything. The dogs speak for themselves. The owners that handle and promote them speak for themselves. Anyhow, this thread is about Big Jon Henry (not me), and fact that this breed should not wait until he's dead to realize that he has something to offer.

Happy Hunting,
:-)

At just under a year Jon has become a Silver Ch. I believe it was the werkend after the Georgia State hunt last year the Andrew purchased Jon.

Trone

Andrew put about $6000 on Jon since Oct 1st 2013. That's about $1000 a month! That's a nice Lil payback if you ask me.
