I never said one i said she treed and i couldnt find it meaning she treed but I couldnt find a animal in the tree on another note this walk hunted hound streak stayed closest to us last night than he ever has im confused on him he starts running a track and just stops comes back to check in and back out but not to the track he was on at 3 years old i expect more out of him than that last season he would run a track and sit down on it any ideas on what to do he normally gets out to 400-700 yds on garmin last night the furthest he went was 200 yds

i went tonight and i absolutely got soaked.i walked i reckon 4 or 5 miles from the truck, and my dog struck and ran something in in a holler, after about 5 min.she came out of there and was flat boreing down on it,when to my bewilderment the skys open and i do mean open. i couldnt hear nothing for the rain hitting my hard hat and all the thunder and lighting bolting round me.i bet i couldnt see 50 feet in front of me,but by gosh that didnt keep me from walking futher on,then i could barley hear my dog treed but i couldnt tell where she was. after about an hour of looking for her,she finally came to me with a look on her saying, you got to be out of yo mind lol. i finally made it back to the truck and to the house, nearly wrecking several times cause all the fogggggg. now i get to listen to my war department carry on cause i tracked up the kitchen with mud, which she mopped earler today.i hope everyone has had a pleasant evening as i have.lol

Dang I been listening to my war department flying in on me too. I can't hardly name all the complaints I been getting lately. She used to be fun and she was from farther up the road than Tennessee. I think I must back off and reevaluate this thing. I caught her flat out this very morning had let my coondogs I had in the box out and was hand feeding them fried eggs and bacon. I got out and put my arm around her neck and told her how wonderfull she was and she said "why ain't you up yet? They eatn yo friedeggqs and Bacon.

YOU'LL BE AS WELL OFF TO KEEP FEEDING IT TO YOUR DOGS. THEY'LL LIKE IT WAY BETTER THAN YOU WILL.

GYPSY JUMPED HER A BUCK DEER AN RAN IT OVER TOP OF ME LAST NIGHT BUT SHE GOT ELECTRACUTED FOR IT. MEANWHILE BO TOOK AS BAD A COON TRACK AS YOU COULD IMAGINE AND WORKED IT UP AND TREED IN A BIG OAK TREE THAT HAD 2 COON IN IT. GYPSY COME IN AT THE END AND TREED WITH HIM. I GAVE THEM ONE OF THE COON.

That must be my problem skeets . If a coon won't run I kill him , just the opposite from me and most of my buddies LOL. I want to run the fat clean off one and have him tough as anils and if nobody is looking I want to let that one go to give another chase > I want to, but I cant, I got to kill the running ones as well as the no accounts but it sure does hurt my feelings to kill a fine running coon.Out of respect , if I was to eat one it would be one I had respect for, not realy like that nutcase musician does though. I respect them but I aint going to pray over their Spirit and all that stuff LOL. Anyway ,this time of year I can get one or two with fat on them but by February I got it all run off.

lol lyle. coon around here will run like the wind most times,i call them 10 or 15 mintues races pop up coons lol. coon aint bad to eat,you just got to pour the salt and pepper to it and try not to think about what it was eating before your dog treed it.lol

Some say there are four glands you got to get out to make them etible and some say six. What do you say?

I think I sure would like to chase some of your coons when my layed up dogs get in shape and I think you might be happy with the showing your dogs could make here on these runners. Are you thinking about coming down for the Grand American? We can pleasure hunt to our hearts content.

Posted by skeets on 10-17-2012 07:10 AM:

there are 4 that i know of,but to be honest with you it dont matter if you leave them on or cut em off,the mainest thing for me is cutting the fat off.i heard people say the glands is what gives it that wild taste or taint taste, but i think its the fat on them that make the thing taste like its still alive.if your going to try eating one get you a kitten, bake it in the oven at 350 for a hour, put plenty of black pepper and some salt with a little of dales seasoning with a big red pepper in there with it. coon aint good as steak but its better then snowballs, and it will stick to your ribs for sure.lol
