New Coon Club

Hi,

We are starting a new coon club this year. It will be a UKC and a MCHF club.

We will have club hunts, licensed hunts, youth hunts, HTX hunts, and bench shows. We hope to have something for everyone. If you are in the Mexico, Thompson, Centralia, Paris, or Moberly areas and want to join, give me or Patrick O'Bannon a call. Phone 573-239-2744 or 660-676-3033.

Hi,

Been too busy trying to get this new club going to post individual hunts. Been having good hunts after midnight. Coons are starting to run. Good for training the pups now, if the weather will hold.

All my family is from Paris ,chrisman,ridge farm ,Georgetown , all farmers...I love going home, I'm a flat lander born and raised...Another guy from Illinois has contacted me several times about a pup also, Bill Asdell....Sound Familiar?

Hi,

Tom Wilbers and I went hunting last night in the Ozark foothills, where we hunted together 30 years ago. We had a good hunt. Saw Mr. Ringtail and had 3 dogs split treed less than 30 yards apart, all on different trees. Pull Pressure?

Here is Flint's Finley River Stormy last night, 3rd night in the woods on a drag coon it was about 10 ft up in the tree she trailed it or should i say RAN it to the tree located and here is the rest.

Snow and another Zig and Ramblin' Jane pup

Hi,

Luck finally ran out. 20 inches of snow on the ground in places. Others have 16 or so. Calling for 6-8 inches after midnight. My spring hunting for pups is shot. Gene Teeter showed a cage coon to his pup for the first time. Gene said the pup went crazy. He released the coon after dark and waited for about 10 minutes. He said the pup RAN the coon and stood on the tree and treed with a chop. Forgot. He said that pup has an awesome mouth.

Coon Hide

Hi,

Put a hide in a big fork of a tree outside the back door this morning. It has big limbs 6 or 7 feet off the ground. Let Little Lill and Spot loose. Watched out the window as they played in the snow covered yard. They caught scent of it in the air after awhile and went to the tree to investigate. It wasn't long until the hair went up on their backs and they started dancing on their hind legs continuing to scent the air. They figured it out and then the treeing began. Finally had to go get them and put them up, so the wife could go to sleep, after coming home from work.

Mr. Starke i know the feeling about the snow although i dont have as much as you but it was enough to stop hunting for a while. i cant wait till it is gone to get back in the woods. i am glad to hear about your pups. i am extremly excited about getting my pup out of zig and jane. looking forward for more updates on the pups. good hunting
