I can understand that too. I'm sure the MS folks are happy to get it just as the GA folks are sad to loose it. Change is usually not easy, but it is a part of life.
Thank you GA folks for your work in hosting it for those 25 years as well. I hope the MS folks will follow in your shoes.

Will we be able to go hog hunting during the day around Batesville? We sure did have some awful good bar-b-ques in Albany.

I bought a couple Leopards from a guy just west of there on the Mississippi River bottom that invited me to come down and hog hunt with his bunch in the winter time.

Have seen many hogs around Sardis lake Mr Havas. The bottom around my house is full of them. Leave the deer alone this winter and I will show you.

quality inn and days inn were already pet friendly...according to the websites even before the "official" announcement came out. there were no others at that time. wonder if H.I. will change the rates because of it???

was also told by someone this weekend that either the Quality or Days was not accepting AAA discounts...and each hotel called around to others in the area to keep tabs on them. caller was miffed that the 2nd hotel knew she had already called the 1st checking rates!!!

Thats because they did not want to hear (or at least let us voice our opion)what those of us that go to these hunts had to say, Thats why they decided to move it without asking any of the hunters , they just decided amoung themselfs .They could care less that some of the clubs had allready made plans spent money and time getting ready for next year. I wish them the best but you know I am hard headed and prouball will not attend nor will my handlers as its my money they spend.

Yes. There are electric hook ups along the back side of the dog barn but I'm not sure how many. There is plenty of room to camp but not a lot of shade though that should not be a factor in January right? lol

todd, you stated that there was camping on the grounds... when i called the facility they told me there was NO camping on the grounds. the nearest camping is 15 to 20 minutes away. i dont mind finding a place to camp but i cant understand why the people in miss. can tell us there is no camping what so ever on site, but you state there is... which one is it.. please inform us on camping please..... mike

the holiday inn days inn and quality inn are all owned by the same man,, and the sardis lake campgrounds are only 11 miles from the civic center

i know im mostly a pkc hunter will hit a ukc hunt when nothing else is around but i know this hunt coming 4 hrs from me has struck the interst in me and i have made plans to attend.... look forward to meeting some of you....

so, if you have not gotten a room yet, be prepared to pay more for your WC trip. just spoke to someone and said their room at quality inn was over $100/night. I made reservations at same hotel when it was announced for less than $70/night.

holiday inn went up to $150/night....and that is with AAA discount!!

can you say gouge me baby!!!

both places owned by the same person. you would think this town would want the additional income, but I guess they do not know how to show it.

this person called the hotel to speak with the owner and this is what he said:

"he said that they do not give any discounts for aarp or any other organization..they have a flat fee
and as soon as they realized there was a dog event they raised the prices... supply and demand
and it is a small town and very little hotels so they knew it was to their benefit to raise the priices
and he would not change it
and the 5day cancellation was being very lenieunt
because usually he had a 30 day cancellation policy if there was an event going on"
