THE MOST IMPORTANT THING .... HARDWOOD DAN WAS A COONDOG.

yes he Dan was a COON DOG. A good ol fashion coon dog that knew how to use his brain to tree coon. To bad he was not the reproducer. But he is a good example, that just because you win, have all the titles and break records does not mean you can reproduce. Now days if your ALL GRAND you bound to be a reproducer. Dan was coon dog and mr paul is a fine man. He know what a coon dog is and he keeps one on the end of his strap.

good morning

Bawling while running does take more breath and does slow one down slightly but think about it. Coyote dogs run further and faster than coon dogs do GENERALLY and most I have heard are wide open on track. So it might slow them down but really not enough to matter. Insane Jane I hear is wide open and gets it done in a hurry.

are there any videos of insane jane?

Has any one notice how many photos of coon dogs standing on the tree, and how many videos of the dog skips the whole track and starts on the tree. Seems like most people are only interested in their dog on the wood. They must be tree dog people. Of course they get excited when the dog strikes but thats only because they know their dog is on the way to the tree. Sounds like my kind of people. If you are a tree dog person and you are living in denial examine yourself and come join us we will except you the way you are. Its ok if you are only concerned with treeing a coon and seeing your dog on the wood, they are many others like you. lol

Us track AND tree hound people have dogs that are faster at tracking than we are at walking with a camera. Makes it a little harder to film the tracking part. LMAO

I know it says it for Leopard Hounds. That's the way UKC let them in.

LOL That's funny. Now that Leopards can compete with the big boys they have to open while another hound breed can be silent? That's funny!

Breed standards are talking about physical appearance not tracking and treeing traits.

I was at a hunt one time when a cat ran under the benches and across the yard. The judge didn't scratch any of them but had to wait untill they got the dogs back on the bench. It was funny a couple didn't even move and the others the handlers had them mostly by the tail. Problem most of the people showing also hunted those dogs in the hunt. Don't know how many cats were treed.LOL!

WRONG! According to the RULES, a dog must be called struck before it can be called treed! They also say a treed dog that is not called treed can be scratched under the stationary rule. Therefore the RULES are forcing you to strike and tree your dog even when the dog just falls treed, unless you wanna get scratched. Heres a question for ya: If you're judging a cast and a dog just falls treed, and the handler of that dog does not strike the dog, are you going to award him strike points and minus him?? If you say yes then you'd be right, and if you do minus him for NOT striking the dog, explain to me how you could scratch him for striking the dog that just fell treed?? Rules say dogs MUST be called struck before called treed!!
