Just want to say i got the chance to go in the woods with Nat and Foot last night.. very nice guy and a super nice hound. i have a pup out of Foot and hope he does as good as his daddy..

Man that sounds great.. i just got mine this week I plan on taking him out for the first time tonight if the rain stops.. Did you start yours on Bucket or he just take off on his own??

I took mine out the first time at 4 1/2 months old just to let him run around and jump in the creek ....so I thought...he shot down the creek like a broke dog....came back about 5 minutes later...then went back out and struck on the bucket I had the opposite way on the creek from where we turned loose...he drove the track like he had been doing it years...I thought oh no what is he running but then the old dog fell in with him and treed....he backed her and he treed every breath like he was a broke dog.. I was shocked...I stayed back like 50 yards and let them tree for30 minutes before even going to tree....he never cut out and has not every since...picture of that tree are on this thread...Good Luck with yours!!!!

Dont you wear that coat hanger out!! I needed it last night!! Boy did he do a good job on a hot track! The guy that owns the farm where we hunted when you came up - had a guy down from Texas that wanted to see my pup go......Boy did he put on a show!! Mike's pup was in on the chase too!! That man from Texas hunts Walkers and all he could say was...."There sets the Coon!!!!" LOL

I hope mine will get started.. just these thin coons hard to get him on a hot track.. i got him fired up on a cage coon yesterday and he was barking every breath...
