But the best dog from that bunch, in my opinion was their sister Woody, she was special and she was better than both of them, and she was never put in a hunt!!!!!!
Woody was a good reproducer too, she threw some good pups, and barney kept that blood around his house, his friends and son probably still hunt some of that blood today.....

Where exactly are you located Mike?

And i wouldn't say most of the top dogs are from here you go south or even out west i do believe your going to find your better dog. If you cant tree a coon here RETIRE! Sure wish they would put the world hunt where everyone is willing to drive and compete there are central states lol!
I call BS on this one.Ive hunted around Morehead and surrounding counties all of my life and Ive also hunted Indiana several times. If your not treeing more coon in Indiana than you did in Morehead its time to get a new dog LMAORIF !!!

I would guess it is becouse more people from there has the opportunity to get there hounds to more club hunts and the bigger hunts are close enough to be able to make it to. A lot of good dogs just don't get the ride becouse the owner can't afford to take them.
I don't think real thick coon would make as good of dog as a lesser populated place. If you have enough coon to give a dog one when he needs it then you have plenty of coon. I have talked to some were the coon are so thick the dog doesn't have a chance to trail much. It would be like hunting on feeders all the time.
