Should have called us. We quit about 2:30, would have gone later if you would have come out. Ran three into holes [building, brush and cliff] two plus, one circle. So, OK but not great night. Picked up a young Tucker dog that I am gonna start tonight. She is about a year old, there are two littermates that could be bought through Wayne Fields.

This morning, I am proud to announce, Old Tucker got it done. He is now 13 years and four months old. It took him an hour before he got knotted, but he had a 13 minute hangup. The first four pups are spoken for, I need to get two of them to Oklahoma. Anything after that should be available. The female is off of Elvis attack and a pacman bred female. she is a nice track and tree dog. untitled but would be worthy of a title.

I wonder what the oldest hound is to have ever stuck a female. 13 years four months has got to be close!

Hey Chris, Liz and I are gonna float a section of the crow wing river this weekend. Any recommendations as to which section is best? Would you want to run our shuttle? We will have to pay someone to move our car- it might as well be a friend. Mosquitos ok? Let me know.

Hey Ben yea there is quite a few good spots to float but the best would be caseys landing down to mary brown bridge its bout a 2 to 3 hour float, all depends on how much you stop and mess around. As far as the skeeters they shouldn't be to bad the horse and deer flys might get some what bothersom. But for picking ya guys up were you going to be at and when for shure any how just let me know talk to you later on then.

Hey Chris, I didn't see your response til after our plans were made. We canoed from Shell City to Nimrod -24 miles. Did our own shuttle- biked 14 miles to drop the car off at the far end. Had great weather, bugs not bad, that river is sure clean- saw a lot of big fish. Picked up new dog at Cliffs on the way home. Treed 4 tonight in sweet corn patches- shot 'em all out, but couldn't bring new dog- still a little in heat. Hate wasting coon like that , but the farmer wants 'em all dead! THey are destroying his sweet corn profits. See ya, BB

Ben it was nice hunting with you tonight. Ole Tucker looks pretty good for his age!!!

Posted by truly on 08-04-2009 11:02 PM:

Yeah ole Tucker is still full of heart. Last night he swam the Minnesota river TWICE! it's about 50 yards across there, and he swam over tracked around and came back to continue working track. Not bad for 13+ years.

he is still going- loves to hunt- got no voice at all- can barely hear him at 2 miles! just kidding about the voice. He has been at many homes in the last year and a half, mostly for breeding, and he has sure barked himself out. still hunts hard though- when he crossed the river he was over a mile from where we cut out!

From what he sounds like now barked out I can't even imagine how loud he was when he was young!!!

Posted by truly on 08-06-2009 06:50 AM:

Hey Trav- how's it going? hows is maple river tucker doing? we been in those cornfields just a shooting away! I got a new youngster straight off tucker- she went all the way to the tree tonight in rough country and fought a good fight! ran a gnarly old river bottom coon- musta weighed in at 30! Summer is busy, but I am gonna try for sure come fall to get down there. hear form Trey?

Rumor has it that ole Tucker stuck another one today. he got one, missed two and has gotten another. a nice well bred pr dog. may be males available.
