Accidential Breeding

Ok fellas what you think?

I got a young female just shy of 2 yrs old, she looked like she was coming in heat but I never seen blood, may have missed it, but I doubt it. I handle her quite often and give her alot of attenton, she is a very special hound and I hold her very dear.

The snapper was swelled a bit, and I even bear huntered her yesterday with a brother that showed no interest but that is not uncommon in several of the males I have owned in his ped, he is a straight up bear dog and does no foolishness on or off the chain.

Well I get home today and she got unsnapped somehow, and there she was sure enough tied up big as heck with the Dice dog which has only been bred once, but he took right to it when I bred him to a female his first time.

Ya think I am going have pups? I was going to make the cross, was just going to skip this cycle since it was her first. I know this has happened to some of you guys before as well.

I hope she doesn't pup out since it is her first cycle and she will be sorely missed during the 1st part of kill season. Guess only time will tell for sure.

Accident

We had a super nice female back several years ago. We hauled her all over the country and bred her to some good, well bred hounds. The pups were sorry. Then I loaned her to my nephew to train his pup with. She was the pups aunt. The nephew was a kid and didn't know much about dogs. He let her get bred by the pup. She raised two female pups and they were two VERY good hounds. Sometimes it just works that way.....

Just weird that I seen no blood, was expecting it, and looking for it, but no blood. Thought it was coming because of the swelling and such, but no blood ?

I know I didn't over look it...that just sound wrong but if there was blood I would have seen it. I don't know haven't raised more than 12 litters but all those females and every female I have ever owned showed it except this one ?

I think if she does pup out it is going to be a great cross.

That is a fine fine looking male he looks much like a hound that will live forever in my heart and the measureing stick for all dogs I own.

It was a sad sad day the day I burried him, that day was today a yr ago on my birthday. I woke up sad, & somewhat down. I went out to where I put him in the ground and looked down upon the rest of my dogs, as his sisters looked up the hill at me I decided to load up 5 head and do what I know Fluff would want to do and that is go BEAR hunting!

Here are a few pic's of his 2 sisters, and a white nephew. I had another nephew, and niece that split from these dogs and treed there own.

I was able to get both my boys, and wife to this tree. The other tree me and the boy shown in the pic hiked 1.3 miles to the next tree where the other 2 dogs were just shy of the top.

The boy is 6 and made of steal. He walked 3/4 of a mile steady then I back packed him 50yds, then he walked 50 and so on, it got very steep. I think he is going to be just as ate up with it as I am and I know most of you are.

Fluff was surely looking down on us today. Izzy treed this bear by hereself, the white male and Fluffs full sister were about 30 min behind. The male goes 80 plus lbs Dixie is around 8yr and has treed many by herself before age and scares slowed her. The boy is just a wee bit over 50lbs.

I expect no sympathy for the loss of my hound everything dies, I hope the pics bring a smile.

It was a good day. These dogs carry Bragg, Vaughn and Rambo II

If you want to come south, I can show you all the bear you want ot see. Bring a dog, I have more guns than any man should need, you can pic one out to tote, I care nothing about killing anything these days. To much work, unless it is close to the truck on the farm. deer that is. I hate ground hogs, coyotes, and rabbits, I do enjoy blasting them.

kenfischer

that photo of the boy is my fav as well. The woman took alot of pic's and video, seldom do I carry a camera. I usually hunt alone or with that little guy. He loves to bear hunt and takes to dogs quite well, he was not coached in the photo. He leads some dogs to the truck and to there boxes. He also is a great help with feeding all the animals, he is my bud.

Kenbev, need your number amd sent a p.m. to ya

If that offer stands in 2 or so more years I would love to come down and chase bears with you!!

The offer will stand, I have a camp that is equipped with all plushes, little musky and a few mice, but warm and dry. As long as I am still kicking and haven't went bankrupt from doing charity work I will still be beating on the tree, looking for another chase and easy tree.

Come on, gas is all it will cost ya, bring the fam there are more 10 + bunks and indoor plumbing, 2 lakes, 1 pond and a dozen swim/ fishing holes within 30 miles of camp, heck you might wanta stay if you don't kill over from tring to crest the next ridge.

Occasionally I wonder what I am doing when I walk straight up a 1500 ft ridge with my heart ready to pop outa the vein that is pressed on my skull, then I hear it, them old blue's got'em on a limb, then I get a second wind and put another one behind me.

Sometimes they are just a few hundred yds off the road, and the womon / kids make the tree, which is nothing but butter...for some reason the woman thinks more of me in that 30 min time frame than she does all yr, it is however short lived, by the next morning I am the a hole that caused it's legs to be sore, then I have to rub them, dang it, love a win win

Just kiddn she loves it to.

havent seen any of you felleas posting any pic's or doing any chatting in a while hope all is well.

Bear trainning season is out here, had a pretty good season for the most part and seen a couple bear from time to time.

Coon season is soon to come in so a little break for the dogs and in a couple weeks I will see if I can't get some ring tail fur in old blues mouth. Had a few sitting for a while and might get the out to knock the dust off there noses.
