Is she out of the FRED/DOT cross? If it is, I sent the DOT female home with Dennis from Bluetick Days, where she had come in heat, to make that cross. Take care, Ron.

PUPS

Those should be some big good lookin' houndy pups. DOT was typical big blocky headed female that looked & sounded like a male dog out of CHIEF. Loved her while she was here. Take care, Ron.

Brummy passed his last Hunt Test last night to finish his HTX degree. He struck at 9/10's of a mile, drifted a bad track about 600 yards and treed with a coon.

Curt's Daisy female also did a nice job on a bad track and passed. She needs 1 more to earn her HTX degree.

Dave Thomas' young Blue male, Bo was also in our group. Bo is 14 months old and doing a NICE job. He didn't pass but only because he was treed up a great big nasty tree and we couldn't find his coon.

Thanks for the history on the FredXDot cross Ron. I'm SUPER exited about the BrummyXDemi cross. Pounder and Sis are both on the current reproducers list and Demi is a COON DOG to boot.

No problem, just passing on what I knew about where SIS came from. Funny how things work out in this 'coondog' world. A good female comes to visit Brummy that has a top reproducing mother from a cross I made all within a month of me buying a nice Brummy pup to bring to Iowa- if this all makes sense!!! I understand what you're saying. It is funny how it all connects with you living probably close to 1,000 miles away.

Been having some good hunts, hard hunts but good. I've been hunting Brummy alone getting him tuned up for Bluetick Days. The last 3 dumps I've made he's treed at .9, .9 and .8 respectively, this time of year with the sows laid up with kits you better have a dog that's willing to get through the country.

Sure glad I got her bought when I did before the price went up!!! Wish I had her here to hunt with Annie in heat for 2 more weeks. I sold a female to a man bc I was in a bind for 1500. I try to buy her back that spring after kill season, and he priced her for 4500, and he got it just wasnt from me.

I had a good hunt with Dave Thomas tonight. The first dump I cut Brummy alone, he treed a coon at .9, got through the country in a hurry and did what he's supposed to do.

I had a good hunt with Dave and Travis Thomas, Gabe Webb and Roho Carlise, these are all good Bluetickers. We made several trees and looked at several coons. It's nice going to the woods without an off colored dog.

Gabe had Georgia, Roho had his Brummy pup Sack, Dave and Travis had Bo and I had Brummy and Bill Tipton's Flakey gyp.

On the first dump Brummy, Georgia and Sack struck hot and ran a good track about 200 yards and treed. It was a huge oak, a couple of us got him to look but he never would let us get a good look.

The second dump Flakey and Georgia fell treed at about 150 yards. It was another big leafy oak that we couldn't find the coon in. We recast to Bo who was opening down the creek. Georgia goes about 75 yards and locks down treed again with Bo, Flakey and Sack covering. We looked at a coon there.

The next deal we cut Brummy, Georgia, Bo and Sack. They strike at about 300 yards, work a colder track up and come treed at about 700 yards. They had a coon there.

We pull around to another spot and cut Brummy, Georgia, Bo and Sack, they get struck deep and bump around on a bad track and come treed on a den. While we're shining it a good rain shower rolls in and Gabe and Roho decide to roll out! I asked Travis if he was up for one more and we decide to cut Brummy alone in the rain. We cut him at a spot that's normally good for a quick coon and he goes 1.7 miles without a bark. We wound up calling him out of probably the worst swamp in Extreme East Alabama.

Crawled in bed about 5:30 this morning. Didn't tree nearly enough coons to justify staying out all night but we were swapping hunting pups one dump and Brummy one dump. I've been going a good bit the last 3 weeks or so.
