Giddy'ness was flowing fairly freely! When we made eye contact as he was smokin the feild & she was gettin back from stuffin him in the box a deffinate wide grin busted out,from both of us

There where some hi-zoot swimmin dawgs in there that had been hauled a ways to take it all home. Leave it up to a wimpy lil housedawg with a name like "Bum" to send'um to the house short of their expectation's. Some of them plotts had legs four foot long!

"PATCH" & "CARLY"

Seven month old male pup,second time in the woods treed two singles behind grampa. No,he didn't lock on & have blood runnin out his eyes from treein so hard OR have his nails dug in to the quicks & foam blown all over the tree. HE DID,however make me know he's treed even though he really had no clue what he was doin. Seen one dead coon before, a month or so ago.

I was thinkin watchin him round the yard yesterday & he seemed ready for a try. Affirmative............

We call him "Buddy"....

The product of this cross has me giddy as all get out. They are 7 1/2 months & mine is showin some great potential. Still a bit confused but he can find a tree in a hurry & got a mouth your gona hear & can pound with the best. Independent lil sucker he is so far & showin us that he has the potential to be one hekuva layup dawg. Like Ben said,he's smart smart smart with the personality our mutts are known for.

We have another male I would like'ta rehome. He's maybe better lookin rite now,equal mouth to "Buddy" with the same kinda brain power & personality. "IF" your interested in a top kinda "Dual" prospect get in touch with me. I don't need two & kinda obsessed with the one. We're gona get him out very soon as well.

I looked & searched & hunted for out crossin material for a few years. I have found what me myself been searchin for. I like it so dang much I bought a younger brother to "Carly" to utilize on some of our "Bum" & "Patch" daughters if he makes the grade. He's 7 months as well & be here sometime this weekend. His name is "Tanner" & I can't wait to move him in with the pack & watch him develop. "Tanner" gona be welcomed with wide open arms.

Reading Patch's pedigree still brings a tear and a chuckle to this ol' coonhunters heart....all the fun hunts with many of those dogs and thier owners.....many fond memories.

Hard to beleive some of them been gone for 30 years already. All the swamps,hills,thickets & open hardwoods with the ocassional river wadin we was lucky 'nuff to experience makes the mind do some wondering......

I'm in Louisville now, but yes, the coon are still on the smallish side....scooby snacks....but everywhere....think he'll like it. If we can get him to the Round-up, that would be great....selling my other breed dog in the next several days and jumping the fence to your side. Drop a pic on here and I'll be calling you later

Zone 1 experience

I would like to thank Scott Johnson for allowing me to tag along as his backup handler. This was my first 'comp" hunt and it was a great experience. NITECH'PR'KENDALL'S BLUE IKE was the only blue dog in the cast so he was a little out numbered by the walkers. I thought we had some good places to hunt: the first location gave the dogs several opportunities to show their skills, and they did. I think the second location provided more of a challange for the dogs and the handlers, with some water and heavier brush. Thanks again Scott...
