Cleo - I had a similar situation a few years ago. My neighbor kind of adopted me/tucked me under his wing when I moved in over 30 years ago where I'm at now. He was the one that put me on stand to get my first buck. He was the one to teach me how to call in my first gobbler. He took me trout and walleye fishing. HE TOOK ME COONHUNTING!!!! In the late 90's he had 2 silent heart attacks brought on by diabetes that he wasn't aware of....typical old school. I was activated by the USAF in Sept of 01 and was gone for the most part of 2 years. It was during one of my deployments that my mentor/friend/brother/Dad, all kinda wrapped in one (he was a good bit older than me..)passed away. I couldn't be here to see him laid to rest and it bothered me bad. I think he has forgiven me since I got into Black and Tans because he wasn't a Walker fan and thats what I had for the most part then. On a quiet night on a hillside before the dogs have opened when I say a little prayer thanking the Good Lord for my blessings and a beautiful night I think I can see Chuck smiling as he listens and watches a good chase...

Not much more to say Cleo...but know that we are sending prayers your way. Mr Wickham will always be part of you and resides in your heart as he has since he joined your life. You will see him again..... He IS in a better place,

I know how you feel. I will venture to say that most on this thread have feelings for someone like this. Some who took the time to touch their lives like they will NEVER know.

They are in a better place. We will be with them too, one day! How blessed we are to have them in our memories.......

I was thinking the same thing about work. I feel so blessed, just as you do, have a job! I work for "the big GREENE tractor" place and we have slowed down A LOT in the past month.
Farmers had a good year around here tho. The company I work for has not had any lay~off's and I thank God for that.....

Just keep plugging along. Don't get overwhelmed! Take a deep breath and hit it head on!

I pray for all those out there struggling to make ends meet. I pray they don't give up! God never gives up on us. He expects us to try and keep our faith in HIM. He will provide! It may not be a big fancy truck or a big ol' camper we only use once a year, but He will provide what we need if we don't give up or stop trying!!!!

I glanced at the calendar a few minutes ago, and I realized it is almost Thanksgiving......This year has rushed past!

THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING CONCERNING WORK, UNFORTUNATELY IT TAKES A LITTLE MORE OF ALL OUR TIME THAN WE WOULD LIKE. HOWEVER, I WILL GIVE THANKS TO THE LORD INSTAED OF COMPLAINING.

I HAVE A VERSE THAT IS VERY DEAR TO ME BECAUSE IT WAS A PLAQUE THAT STOOD ON MY MOTHERS DRESSER AS SHE WAS PARALYZED WHEN I WAS 6 YEARS OF AGE WATCHING HER BED RIDDEN BODY TRYING TO HEAL FROM A 5 HOUR SEIZURE THAT CAUSED BRAIN DAMAGE............................

AFTER ALMOST 3 YEARS OF BEING PARALYZED THE LORD JESUS CHRIST ROSE MY MOTHER TO HER FEET AND BLESSED HER LEGS AND BODY WITH THE STRENGTH TO REHIBILITATE OVER A PERIOD OF TIME.....SHE DOES MORE THAN 95% OF MOST WOMEN TODAY. FOR THIS I HAVE THANKED GOD FOR 29 YEARS AND STILL GIVING THANKS TODAY !!!!!!

wow.

I had "one of those days" as Brad and I talked about last week. I thought about this post and got through it~I haven't heard how successfully yet.

It is hard not to complain about the things that make us "use our brains".
Thank you for this post and for the things in life that are important.
I hit it "head on" with a "head up" so I am confidant I did OK.
This is all new to me, but I find strength in the Lord and keep plugging along!

Tomorrow is a new day! Sunny and bright! God's love assures us of this!

I know that most of us are guilty of not giving our 10%. This doesn't mean that once you drop your money in the plate we are done with our 10% of our "financial" committment until the next time. What about 10% of our "TIME"??? I have found a way to get a small percentage of my "time" in everyday. Most all of us commute to and from work. We spend alot of time in our vehicles in this modern world. Tune into the local Word.FM on your FM dial. In my area it is 101.5. I thoroughly enjoy James Dobson and Chuck Swindall. Dr Dobson relates a lot of contemporary issues to the Bible. Some of the invited speakers can leave a profound effect on you. There are also issues that directly involve us within the polical circles. Contacts are given to voice your opinion about how this country is evolving from "Freedom of Religion" to "Freedom FROM Religion". I know when I miss Dr Dobson for one reason or another my day seems to have a hole in it. Tune in one time!!!!!
