HUNT
Its been a crazy day and I'm just getting my hunt report for last night. Drake and I took Tank and Dolly last night. It was windy and spitting rain. We cut them down an old logging road. Dolly struck a track at about 150 yds and worked it out good for another 250-300 and fell treed right. She was on a leaning tree that ran up into 2 big pine trees. We looked but couldn't find the coon. We moved on down the road and cut them down a big hollow. Dolly struck at about 225 and started a bad track. She moved it across the hollow and up on a big ridge. She treed and we made our way about 500 yds to her. She was on a den tree. We cut her off that tree and she soon struck at about 250 yds. She kept locating but never would turn it over. She finally committed but wasn't sounding right. When we got to her she was standing on her back legs winding and treeing between 3 huge pine trees. We shined around but didn't see a coon. Dolly keeps improving but she has had a problem missing some. I've started getting on that hide for her and she has gotten better. Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!!

HUNT
Well I didn't get to go last night. I had planned on it but my brother in law bought some property that had a very nice 2 run dog kennel on it with a metal roof. I knew the gentleman that built it and he passed away. My brother in law gave it to me and we moved it yesterday evening. Finally got it to my house and unloaded it. I walked in at 9:15 pm and decided I would just sit this one out. I talked to my buddy Terry Tibbs and he has a nice 4 yr old male he is going to sell. He is very tight on the ground but is a big good looking hound that goes hunting. He has a good mouth and is accurate. He is Uchtman bred and goes back to Clyde and Hornet. He is asking $1500 for the dog. I will be hitting the woods tonight!! Y'all Keep'em Lookin' UP!!

HUNT
Drake and I hunted last night. We took Dolly and Tank. Tank is Drake's pup. Belle is full fledged in heat, so she is sitting in the pen. We cut Dolly and Tank down a big hardwood hollow. Dolly struck and started working a track. She located a couple of trees but moved on down a small branch. She soon loaded up treed. We made our way to her and she was treed on a huge oak tree. We looked but didn't find the coon. There was a few spots that was hard to see but I think she just missed it. We loaded up and moved to a new spot that I just got permission to hunt. It is a wet bottom that has good hardwood and a large creek running through it but it has a lot of privet hedge growing in it too. Dolly struck immediately and went left about 100 yds and loaded up treed. It was a den tree. We leashed them up and walked them down a 4 wheeler trail about 100yds and cut them again. Dolly struck quick again and headed towards the creek. We moved on down the trail and Dolly got quiet. It wasn't long til she located and fell treed. She was back close to where we had cut loose. We walked back up to her and she had a coon. I petted her up and we loaded up and moved to a little oak flat that has big hardwood hills on each side. This area gets hunted pretty hard. Dolly struck up a small branch but struggled with the track. She finally made her way back close to us and I leashed her and cut her down the branch. She left the branch and picked the track up on side of the hill. She loaded up and treed about 300 yds up the hill. We got to her and she was treed slick. I gave her an adjustment and we moved to a rough bottom with a lot of water. Dolly has not hunted well in this area and tonight was no different. She made a half hearted effort and I finally just loaded her up and called it a night. I will keep turning her into this ole rough bottom whether she likes it or not!! Hopefully one of these ole potlickers will start turning the crank at some point. We are hunting hard but I don't have that one with the motor that I like. I am supposed to have a nice young prospect here next week and I am excited to get him in the woods. He has a very impressive pedigree and I am looking forward to see how he will develop. Y'all Keep'em lookin' Up!!!

HUNT
I went over to Terry Tibbs place Friday night and hunted with him. He took Cotton, a 7 yr old smokey river gyp and his male shaker. I took Dolly and Drake had his pup. First drop we cut Dolly , Tank and the smokey river gyp loose. Terry's gyp struck followed by Dolly. Terry's gyp treed and Dolly backed her. Slick tree. Cut off that tree and Dolly didn't hunt well. Terry's gyp struck and soon treed with Dolly going in and backing. Slick tree. Next drop Dolly struck at an old feeder and kept coming in checking trees. The old gyp got treed about 150 yds up the edge of a greenfield. Dolly came in to tree and it was slick. We loaded up and moved. We cut Cotton and Shaker up a bottom. Cotton fell treed at 500 yds with Shaker backing her. She had a coon and we rolled it out. We cut them off that tree and Cotton went 400 yds and opened a couple times and fell treed again. Shaker backed her and she had a big den tree. We cut them off that tree and they split up. Cotton went 650 yds and struck a bad track. Shaker came by us and went the other way but was checking trees. Cotton worked a bad track about 350 yds and loaded up treed. Terry and Drake went to get 4 wheeler and I walked in to Cotton. She was really lighting up that bottom with her ringing chop. I got to her and easily spotted her coon in the very top of the tree. I petted her up and made my way to the 4 wheeler. Last drop we cut Shaker alone up a big creek. He opened just a few times and soon treed about 450 yds. He was in a lot of water in the edge of a big beaver swamp. He had a big den and we called it a night. Drake and I rolled in at 4:00 am and I got up at 7:00 am and started working on the spot where Drake and his soon to be wife are putting their trailer. I didn't have any trouble sleeping Saturday night. Getting too old to run on no sleep lol!!! Y'all keep'em Lookin' Up!!

Cotton is back at Southern Bluetick Kennels. My friend Terry Tibbs and I are going to partner on her. I put 2 NtCh wins on her before I sold her and Drake and I are going to hunt her hard and finish her to Dual Grand. Our plans are to breed her to GrNtCh PR Mose’s Pink Floyd this fall when he is here in Alabama. I am going to be hunting Belle in some hunts as well. She has a 1st place win and hopefully we can NtCh her. She is already a ch on bench. Scott and I have an exciting cross planned with her once she is finished. Drake and I are hitting the woods tonight and I couldn’t be more excited. Y’all keep’em lookin up.

HUNT
Drake and I hunted last night and my 9 yr old little girl decided she wanted to go with us. Jenna kay doesn't have any hip waders so we had to hunt in the hills. Belle is still full blown in heat so we took Dolly. Cotton, and a pup. Dogs left out hard and Dolly soon struck a track and went to working down a hollow. Cotton had went the other way and was 450 up a different hollow. Dolly soon treed and we made our way to her. She was on a slick tree and the pup was there with her. We got to the truck and Jenna Kay said why was that dog barking up the tree with no coon in it? I said "well sweetheart I wish I knew!!!" Cotton was over 800 yds and we pulled around an old logging road. She was getting close to the road and I just caught her up as she was getting over on a hunting club that I don't have permission to hunt. We moved and cut all 3 dogs down another big hollow with a small creek at the bottom. Dolly struck in at about 75 yds and was just bumping around. Cotton went down to the creek and headed down the hollow on the creek. Dolly was just opening here and there. Cotton finally opened at about 700 yds. We moved on down the road and I got out in time to hear her screaming locate. she rolled it over into that chop and was lighting it up. We moved around to an old oil well pad and got within 300 yds of Cotton. Dolly and the pup had made their way close to Cotton. We walked up a huge hill and Cotton was treed on a huge den tree and the pup was with her. I started shining and found 2 coons laid up in a fork on the outside of the den. I rolled one out to Cotton and the pup. The pup got bit and it fired him up. Dolly heard the gun and came in but Drake tied her back. I laid and drag and the pup treed fairly well on it. We made our way to the truck and got about 10 miles down the road headed to the next drop when I noticed the gun wasn't in my gun rack. Drake was supposed to get the gun and forgot it. We had to turn around and go back and he walked in and got it. We just called it a night as Jenna Kay was falling asleep in the truck. It was really a fun night to have my son and my little girl hunting with me last night. Jenna Kay told me to get her some hip boots ordered lol

HUNT
I hunted by myself last night. I took Cotton and a pup. I cut them in a big hardwood hollow and that moon was shining bright. Cotton left out hard and the pup didn't see her so he did not hunt well. He is 6 mths old and is green as a gourd. I shot out his first coon Tuesday night and he did pull fur and tree on a drag. Cotton kept getting deeper and deeper and had not opened. There is no way to get closer to her other than walk so me and the ole pup started walking her way. He was really smelling and hunting some on his own and even opened a few times on a track of some kind. I got on a large hill and heard Cotton open deep. She worked a track another 350yds or so and loaded up treed. She was almost a mile from where I cut her and I had never been in that area. I walked through a pine thicket and then cutover. I was able to stay close to a tree line and not get in too rough stuff but still was pretty overgrown with briars and hedge. I started hearing a lot of frogs and the hills started getting really steep. Cotton was up a hollow and it was sheer bluffs on each side. It took me forever to find a way to get down and then it was a deep beaver pond at the bottom. I waded the edge and finally got to a beaver dam where I could cross. I made my way back up the other side and felt like a mountain climber trying to make my way up to Cotton. I finally got to her and the ole pup was booger barking on the other side as he was hesitant to cross the water. Cotton had a coon and I petted her on the head and started the long trek to the truck. I moved around to a different hollow and cut Cotton and the pup loose again. The pup went hunting with Cotton and they were covering ground with no strike. At about 650 yds Cotton opened and It simultaneously started pouring rain. I had to walk around a logging road to get where I could hear. When I got close enough to hear Cotton, she was blowing the top out. I made my way to her and she was on a huge den tree. The ole pup was opening some around the tree and climbed up on the wood a few times. I was soaked and had to climb another huge hill to get the truck. It was about 11:20 and I decided to call it a night. If all goes well I am planning to take Cotton to Leeds and hunt her in the BBOA Alabama State Championship hunt Saturday night. Hope all is well with my fellow bluetickers! Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!!

Drake and I went over to Leeds to the BBOA Alabama championship hunt last night. I hunted Cotton and drew out with 3 Walker males. Cotton looked ok and we had a chance but couldn’t get a break. We had a coon in the tree next to where she was treed. 2 Voted plus and 2 voted no. Lol. Anyway we are going to keep getting after it. I got sledge last night and look forward to hitting the woods. HUNT
Drake and I hunted last night for a little while. My tail lights on the ole Ford Ranger weren't working so I had to work on them and we got a late start. First drop we cut Cotton and Sledge into a rough swamp bottom. Both hunted out good but Sledge ended up coming out after about 200yds. Cotton was getting deep and opened at about 500yds. We pulled around the edge of the field and Sledge had went the other way. Cotton worked the track about 250yds in the water and soon loaded up treed. We made our way to her and Sledge came by us headed to her as well. We got the tree and she was on a small tree running into a big tree. She had a coon and I petted her up and we moved to a rough little bottom and cut Dolly and Sledge in the bottom. They hunted out good and Dolly soon opened at about 200yds and started a track. She moved down the bottom and worked the track about 250 more yards. She let out a good locate and hammered a tree. We made our way through the water and the privot hedge and got to her tree. She was on a huge oak tree and had a coon. Sledge was working to the left of her but didn't open. We made our way to the truck and Sledge came by us and I caught him up. We decided to cut one more time and we cut Cotton, Dolly, and Sledge loose in some nice hardwood timber. Dolly and Sledge went left and Cotton went down the hollow and headed down a small creek. Dolly struck in at about 200yds to the left and Sledge was with her. She worked in a short distance and soon treed. We made our way down the hill to her and it didn't take long to see she was slick. Sledge came by us and I caught him and sent him down the hollow and Drake gave Dolly a slight adjustment. Cotton was over 1000yds and we moved down the road to see if we could hear her. She had left the hills and was in a swamp. Dolly and Sledge were headed down the hollow towards Cotton so we drove around. We got out of the truck and Cotton was hammering a tree. Dolly soon joined her and Sledge was working around in the swamp. Cotton had a coon and we gathered all the dogs and headed home. Gone hit it again tonight!

HUNT
Drake and I hunted last night for a little while. First drop we cut Dolly and Drakes pup. Dolly went about 250 yds and just fell treed on a huge den tree. We cut them off that tree and Dolly struck in at about 150 yds and bumped on a bad track. We pulled down the road and Dolly came out to the truck. We loaded up and moved. We cut Cotton and Sledge into a bottom with lots of water. Sledge went left and Cotton shot into the bottom. Cotton soon struck but it was not a good track. She got in some deep ditches and made her way to a large creek. Sledge came out on gravel road and I sent him back in to Cotton. Cotton crossed under the gravel road and was cold trailing down the creek. Sledge opened a couple times and Cotton came out of the creek and hit an old cutover that is grown up in hedge and pines with a few scattered hardwood trees. She soon loaded up treed and we made our way to her. She was on a huge den tree. Coons didn't seem to stir or we are lacking dog power LOL! Sledge came to us on our way back up the creek and we called it a night. Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!!

HUNT
Gerald- Thanks buddy , I'm putting them in the woods and hopefully things will all come together. Hope everything is good in your neck of the woods!!
Drake and I hunted last night. It wasn't a great hunt. First drop we cut Cotton, Dolly and a young dog in some hardwood hills. Dolly went left and Cotton shot down a hollow. Dolly struck and started a track but it wasn't a good track. Cotton soon opened and started treeing but it didn't sound right. She was about 400yds and we made our way to her. She was treed in an under ground spring that comes out from under a rock bluff. There were coon tracks everywhere but I don't like that treeing in the ground. I scolded her a little and headed towards the truck. Dolly had gotten on the other side of the old road bed and it is straight up and down with a lot of bluffs. She soon treed at about 500 yds and we started towards her. About halfway there she decided to move. We made our way back out to the truck and she continued to work the bad track. She got it up and going and soon located and treed right. She was 875yds from us so we moved around and got with 490 yds. We climbed up and down the bluffs and finally got to her in the edge of an old pasture. The young dog was there and we decided to roll this one out. We made our way to the truck and rolled in about 12:30. Y'all keep'em Lookin' Up!

HUNT
I took Cotton to a local UKC hunt Saturday night. She didn't look very good at all. Walker gyp struck first and Cotton second. They ran a good track but seemed to fall apart. Both dogs struggled to get it going again and Cotton loaded up treed. 5 up and we get to her and she is up a poplar tree but doesn't have the coon. The walker gyp is checking trees all around us but soon shuts up and leaves. I recast Cotton and she circles back to the same tree and the Walker gyp strikes red hot at about 100 yds and goes 25 yds and trees. We get to her and she has a coon. I get Cotton off same tree and my blood pressure is up! We cut again and Cotton gets 2nd strike again and they are running a red hot track. Cotton soon is a good ways ahead of the walker gyp screaming on that track. I hear her tree but no locate. I soon tree her and the walker gyp is headed her way. 5 is up and Cotton is treed and walker gyp is not heard. We get close and Cotton moves and trees again but hushes and moves to original location and is treeing. We minus her for moving and get to where she is treed and she moves again. She is at an underground spring and is moving about 10 yds between 2 holes. The walker gyp is under the ground and we finally coax her out. Hunt is almost over and it wasn't pretty at all. I'm going to keep tuning her up as she is coming off a litter of pups. Going to hunt her an sledge tonight and hopefully I can cut Belle alone as she is just going out of heat. Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!!

HUNT
Drake and I went for a little while last night. First drop we cut Dolly and Belle in a rough little bottom. Dolly opened a few times but soon got silent. According to the garmin Dolly was about 250yds and Belle was 200yds the other way. Dolly ended up coming out and we loaded her up and drove down a field road to Belle. She soon came out as well. We moved to a different spot and cut Cotton and Sledge loose. Sledge made a circle and came out to the truck. Cotton opened deep and was on a bad track. I cut Dolly and Belle on the other side of the road along with Sledge. We moved down the road a little and Cotton was treed and Dolly had went to her. They were on a huge den tree. Belle had opened on down the creek so we cut Cotton and Dolly to her. Sledge was with Belle so all dogs ended up together. Belle soon loaded up treed and Cotton and Dolly backed her. She was on a huge tree that already had a lot of leaves on it. We could only see one side and couldn't see the coon. Sledge came in to the tree and was interested but didn't tree on it. We sent them on down the creek and Belle fell treed on another den tree but Cotton and Dolly were trailing to the right of her. Cotton and Dolly soon loaded up treed and the were on a huge bay tree that was a den as well. We went to the truck and Sledge was still hunting in the bottom. We pulled down the road and he came out to the truck and we called it a night. Y'all Keep'em Lookin' Up!!

Hunts
Steeb I’ve been having decent hunts.
Cotton just hasn’t seemed to be herself and lost a little fire. I took her to vet and she tested negative for all tick disease and heart worms, but her thyroid was a 1.0
Vet has her on thyroid pill and will try to get her up to 2.5-3. She has hunted hard and treed coons but seems tired at end of a long hunt. She had pups about 3 months ago and was a little overweight when I got her here. Gone stay on them!!
Wife has developed an infection after surgery and is in hospital for a couple days so I guess I’m sidelined til the weekend. Y’all keep’em lookin’ up!!
