DAD WAS ONE OF A KIND AND WILL BE GREATLY MISSED. HE MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO GET MY FIRST BLUETICK HOUND PUP AT THE AGE OF 14. AN OLD COON HUNTER THAT WAS OUR LAWNMOWER REPAIR MAN IN SHAPVILLE IL. TOLD MY DAD THAT I SHOWED A REAL INTEREST IN HIS HOUNDS AND KNEW OF A LITTER OF PUPS THAT WERE FOR SALE. DAD, MYSELF AND CURLY EVERSOLE(repair man/coon hunter) WENT UP TO THAT FELLERS HOUSE AND I GOT ME MY FIRST BLUE PUP. DAD BUILT ME A NICE KENNEL AND DOG HOUSE. HE TOOK AN OLD PIECE OF HARNESS LEATHER, MADE ME A COLLAR AND WITH A PUNCH WROTE "SMOKEY" AND MY NAME AND OUR PHONE NUMBER IN THAT COLLAR. HE NEVER WANTED FOR HIMSELF, HE ALWAYS DID FOR OTHERS AND THAT IS WHAT MADE HIM HAPPY. I KNOW OF ABSOLUTELY NO ONE THAT DIDN'T LIKE HIM. I AM SO BLESSED TO HAVE HAD HIM THERE FOR ME FOR 52 YEARS. <v>


THE EASTERN WILD TURKEY WAS INTRODUCED TO NORTHERN ILLINOIS SOME 30+ YEARS AGO AND MY DAD INSTANTLY FELL IN LOVE WITH THE CHASE OF THE SPRING GOBBLER. <v>

AND SAW DAD AND HIS DOGS ON THE BANKS OF THE BIG GREEN RIVER IN WISCONSIN HAULING IN A MONSTER TROUT WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE LIKE THE ONE IN THE TURKEY PICTURE. HE SO ENJOYED HIS TIMES OF COMING UP TO BOSCOBEL AND THE BIG GREEN RANCH TO TROUT FISH, DEER HUNT AND BE WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS THAT HE HAD AQUIRED UP THERE LIKE JIM "JW" ADAMETZ. DAD AND JIM WOULD SIT AND TALK FOR HOURS AND MISSED OUT ON MORE THAN ONE DEER DRIVE BECAUSE OF IT. THEY HAD KILLED THEIR SHARE OF DEER OVER THE YEARS AND FELT THAT US YOUNGER GUYS COULD TAKE CARE OF THE DEER HUNTIN WHILE THEY TOOK CARE OF THE IMPORTANT STUFF. <v>
