What are the biggest faults you think the line of dogs you are running now has?

1. Too tight on the ground
2. Takes too long to open
3. Too slow to locate
4. Does not hunt hard enough
5. Too noisy in the kennel
6. Overall other bad kennel manners
7. Too aggressive on the tree
8. Too slow on track
9. Not accurate enough
10. Too trashy on small game (possum, rabbits, skunk, porkies)

Get a hound that opens quick, doesn't shut up until pulled off the wood with a coon. Must tree coon quick & often alone & together.

I refuse to hunt a mouthy dog. I can win with a last strike dog. Just have to be leading one that trees more coon!

Justin, you would like to see Luke do his thing. He's not going to open on cold tracks and not much on feeder tracks. Opens about right on hot tracks. When he trees take the gun, you'll need it.

World hunt blues

I believe I hunt with one every week . I say that because maybe I don’t know what a great elite hound is .To think of winning the World Hunt would take a heck of a dog and handler.

With that said this bitch is a get gone accurate stay put tree dog that will get hers and yours . Shell do it by herself or with others . She opens on track then puts the coon in the tree .If she packing she’ll be in the lead .she don’t boo hoo around ever ! I’ve seen her hunted with a lot of different hounds and I haven’t seen anything better . She never been out of Florida. She’s never been in a comp hunt . She’s 3 yrs old . She ain’t for sale , I doubt she could be bought unless it was shore nuff stupid stupid money. She ain’t mine .

Shes out of Leon Darkside and Johnson’s Ann. I don’t know either of those dogs . Other than what I’ve seen on this board . Never seen them and I don’t know their owners . . Wayne

I own daul grand Ann and made the cross. I would love to hunt with that female. Maybe some day but Florida is a long way from home. It's bred in there on both sides. Everything that you wrote about her sounds very credible knowing the parents.

Its the hauling to town part thats not happening........

I know of a couple top end dogs that could compete with most anything, but will never be hauled to town to hunt with three punks that read walk with wick sporting mean/trashy/hitchhiking competition...........

It's real simple. We all need to get our dogs better prepared and then take them to the RQE'S and get them qualified, then the zones and then take them to the world hunt .We can all sit on here and debate this and debate that but until we hunt our dogs hard and get them in shape and prepared it isn't going to happen. I'm pointing the finger at myself too because i'm guilty of it too.

I’m no Bletick guy but I’m gonna try and help you guys out because I’m friends with a bunch of them. I was in the final 4 in 2017 and got beat by the Willy dog last year in the late round to determine the last spot in the final cast. Willy didn’t hardly say anything on the ground but he had coon treeing on his mind and averaged around 15 mph in the 2 hour cast. It doesn’t take a barking idiot to win. It takes one that’s lightning fast and has coons when it’s treed. Most of the dogs you see winning the trucks and all of the money in the other KC’s average in the double digits on the garmin all the time and they aren’t blowing by coon they are just getting to them faster. If you find one that averages over 10 miles an hour and a tree with a coon every 15 to 20 minutes depending on population on Recuts you have something. A guy named Kevin Cable has a dog called little money. He’s won just about everything including a world hunt in another KC and I’ve seen pictures where he will be .7 and averaged over 18 miles an hour. That’s what it takes to win a world hunt. Dennis Elbrader is never gonna let me here the end of it if a blue wins lol

One more thing before I go and I’m not trying to step on anyone’s toes with this but y’all as a whole are some kennel blind jealous jerks. If someone has a really good blue dog that has good qualities instead of going to breed to him you snub your nose because he isn’t out of your line. There are plenty of Blue dogs with good qualities just not blue dog men with the Good qualities to combine there dogs. That’s why the walkers remain at the head of the pack. We breed coon dogs to coon dogs winners to winners and rarely do they truly care how they are bred. We have literally had guys call wanting to breed to our dog and not know how he was bred until they showed up with there female to breed. They just heard about his traits and that’s what they wanted. Until The Bluetick men can truly unify you will continue to suck hind tit.
There you guys have it 2 post worth of honest unbiased opinion from someone who pays attention to dogs and knows the qualities it takes to win the big one.

I have been involved a long time and I will be honest and say that I have been guilty of some of the kennel blindness myself , BUT...… I have put that behind me and am in the process of trying to breed a better hard going bluetick hound.
