Thanks for refreshing his pedigree. I need to extend it on back further for guys to take a look at his ancestry a few more generations back.

We don't update our thread very often , but check back in periodically. As always you can follow us on face book at Big Country Blueticks as that is where we post most of our current news. Pictures, videos, Hunt results, etc....

I also recently purchased a nice Gauge X Alice female that I will be hunting this fall/winter. Stay tuned for some more information regarding her and a possible cross between her and Big Country. So far I am very pleased with this female and really like how she performs.

Big Country "Bimbo" is going to get to sire another litter that will hopefully be the kind to win big prizes. Josie and Bimbo are alot the same style. Not for everyone. If you like to make the hunts and you like to win, these might get you there.

Tramp 11

Chris, Mr. Scott V.H. from Wisconsin bought Tramp from me. I got tired of seeing him sit here in the pen while I was hunting young dogs, I say young dogs, Tramp himself was only 3 years old at the time. He had accomplished a lot in his young life. I loved the Tramp 11 dog. He was one of the nicest hounds that I have hunted. Scott and I had hunted togeather a couple of times and had talked several times on the phone. I knew that Scott was a good dog man and would give Tramp a good home and would push him in a lot more ways than I could. We Talked and arrangements were made for Tramp to go to Wisconsin. Scott owned and hunted Tramp for about a year and I think he loved the dog as much as I did, And now for the sad part. A little over a year after Scott had gotten him. Tramp died with a twisted stomach. Scott did all he could for him, but there was nothing anyone could do. Chris I know you have some good hounds, enjoy them.

A couple things you should know:
-Live breeding is limited due to the 2018 competition schedule.
- Bring the female you plan to breed. We are not just mass breeding this dog for reproduces stats. We would rather breed one outstanding bitch rather than 100 mediocre bitches.
-If you have an outstanding female that goes hunting, runs a track with speed and style and good stay put tree dog. We want to see her. If she is that type of dog we can talk about breeding. If not, don’t get your feelings hurt. We have a specific direction with some goals in mind. We don’t want to come off as arrogant about it either. There is no one on this team that would intentionally disrespect anyone. It is just a decision we have made to move forward for us.
When we breed a female we are putting Big Country ‘s reputation on the line. Nobody will ever say, “Ole Suzy” wasn’t a reproducer. Country will get all the blame.
-your female has to be capable of producing a PKC SS litter and pups be performance and SS registered.

So help us improve this breed. Let’s stack the deck in our favor.

AT THIS POINT IN TIME, I HAVE MADE THE DECISON TO NOT OFFER 'BIG COUNTRY ' TO THE PUBLIC FOR BREEDING. AFTER CONSULTING WITH CHRIS AND STEVE WE HAVE DECIDED THAT WE ARE CONTENT WITH THE FEMALES THAT HAVE HAD PUPS, OR THAT ARE CURRENTLY BRED. are you guys not breeding at all or just not live cover. will you ship chilled semen. we have a coming 3 yr old smokey river/utchman bred female with 2 or 3 wins toward grand. not in heat at this time but trying to lineup a potential stud dog for the future. thank you guys.

First off, Thanks for considering 'Big Country' to sire your next litter. I would be interested in hearing more about her if you'd like to give me a call sometime and we can discuss a few possible options. We have currently pretty much stopped with any more breeding for the time being mainly because of scheduling conflicts. Its turning out to be very challenging trying to offer one at stud and also compete somewhere on a consistent basis. We are trying to focus on the competition right now. He will stand at stud at my place at some point in time in the near future. Give me a call when it is convenient for you. If I don't answer leave me a voicemail and I'll call you back at a better time. Thanks for keeping up with us! Good luck with your hounds this year!

Also if this is the breeding that you are looking for I would highly recommend his sire 'Bocephus' and also his uncle 'Mr. Blue'.

Truck Hunt

Thanks Dave! We had a great trip and I enjoyed myself very much. We didn't catch the break we needed in the early round, but that's the way it goes. Coons didn't seem to be moving real good when we started and he got out of pocket after making a den tree away from the other dogs. He got out of hearing and we never got much of a chance to walk back towards him to be able to hear him. Steve and I walked our guts out to him treed with a coon after the hunt was over. This coon would have won the cast for us. I've always believed this dog is more than capable of pulling off one of these big hunts, and after this weekend I'm even more convinced. We will keep hammering away and see what happens. One thing is certain, you can't win by sitting at the house.
