I may be very interested in a couple pups, especially if your breeding tramp back to a smokey river female. Does tramp go back to Diamond Jim?

Mr. Zink, thank you for your interest in Tramp. I don't have a long generation pedigree here with me, but I think Diamond Jim comes in several times back about the 5th or 6th generation. We will be having pups later this year. If you will PM or Email me your phone # or call me. I will let you know when we get a female bred. I just bred a nice little Nite Ch female. Her sire is Tyre Boones Dual Gr. Mackie Creek Bo Jack. Her Dam is Gr. Nite Ch. M&P's Little Blue Penny. Penny is the daughter of Smokey River Blue Tramp and Smokey River on the bottom side. Penny won the Mississippi State Championship and also the High scoring Bluetick female in the UKC World Hunt in 2003.

The Misty River line

The picture above is Gr.Ch.Gr Nite Ch."PR" Smokey River Jeans Blue Tramp. When Billy and I decided to start looking for a hound to carry on the strain of dogs that we already had here at Misty River Kennels. We knew that it would be hard to do, because we didn't want just a dog we wanted the dog. We looked and hunted with a lot of dogs and some of them were nice dogs. We looked at pups out of prospective dogs and studied pedigrees. We had yet to find the dog that we were interested in. I told Bill that I was going to call Mr. Warren Haslouer and see if he knew of anything. Mr. Haslouer told me that he had two dogs at the time that he thought we might like and that we could come hunt with them. We settled on a date and me and Bill were on our way to Antlers Ok. I had met Mr. Haslouer before at the hunts and I had tried to breed a female to Chief, but Chief was going sterile at the time and we didn't get any pups. Mr. Haslouer and his wife Joan were the nicest people you could ever meet. We hunted both dogs while there and both dogs looked good. We studed their pedigrees and asked Mr. Haslouer a thousand questions. Mr. haslouer told us that he would sell one of the dogs and keep the other and that he didn't know which dog that he would sell. He would have to talk it over with his handler and he would let us know and if it turned out to be the Tramp dog, he would have to talk it over with his wife, because she called Tramp her dog. After we left for home Billy and I talked about both dogs and we both agreed that Tramp was the dog we wanted. It was about three weeks later. Billy came to my house and told me that Warren had called and that he would sell Tramp. When he told me how much I liked to have passed out. Billy told me not to worry about the money that he would buy the dog if I would keep him and hunt him. The deal was made and the next day I was on my way to Antlers, Ok. to pick up Tramp. After I got Tramp home and had hunted him for a while. I told Bill he had a couple of things I had to work on with him. Tramp had a good nose and was a tremendous tree dog and when I would lead him off a tree sometime he would go back. Warren had told me when I went to pick Tramp up that He was a real smart dog and at the time I just thought he ment that he knew how to tree a coon but later I learned that he ment that Tramp was an intelligent dog.. I think you could have taught him to do any thing that you wanted him to do. I think Tramp taught me more than I did him. Tramp had a wonderful mouth on him. I hunted all across the country and when the dogs got deep, If you could hear any dog you could hear Tramp. I'll tell more about Tramp later.

Later the rest of the story.

The Misty River Line

The picture above is Dual Gr."PR"Misty River Blue Doll & Nite Ch."PR"Misty River Blue Misty. Mother and Daughter. I had a lot of fun here in these Pearl River bottoms With these two for a lot of years. The good ones grow old way too soon. that's the reason you always have to keep a young one coming on, for they like us will one day have to be replaced.

Later the rest of the story.

Mr Jack, Doll and Misty could possibly be replaced, I'm unsure about the TC Jones, Warren Hauslour, Utchman's, Jack Smith, Lonny Smiley and a few others. The hard nosed every night coonhunter may be a thing of the past.
In the past 20 or so years every hound I have trained had Chief and Jean as a close relative. There presents in a hounds pedigree seems to work for what I enjoy hunting.

Gr.Gr.Nite Ch."PR"Misty River Blue Doll 11

Posted by Misty river on 01-27-2016 04:37 AM:

The Misty River Line

The picture above is Dual Gr. Nite Ch."PR" Misty River Blue Doll 11. I raised three litters of pups off Doll 1 and Tramp. I kept a female out of the first litter and Doll 11 is the one.
Doll 11 and me roamed these Pearl River Swamps for several years. She was a fast track dog with a mouth that you seldom heard on a female, She was a quick and hard tree dog that stayed put. Me and Doll 11 traveled all around the country to the nite hunts and she won a lot of them. I don't remember all the hunts that she won, but I think she won the Mississippi State hunt a couple of times.
Doll 11 only had two litters of pups. I bred her to my friend Mr. Dennis Elbraders Gr.Nite Ch."PR" Smokey river Cheif's Joe when she was about 5 years old. I kept a female out of that litter that I named "PR"Misty River Blue Doll 111. I'll tell her story a little later. When Doll 11 was about 6 yrs. old Mrs. Mellanie Hittson of Texas borrowed her and bred her to the Dual Gr. Spur dog that Kenny Jones use to own. I called her Sheba and she was a nice dog. She had made Nite Ch. at a young age and I was hunting her one hot night getting her ready for the world hunt and she was running a coon and just hushed. I had a tracking collar on her and went to her and she was laying in a small stream dead from a heat stroke. Mrs. Hittson borrowed Doll 11 later and a younger sister to her that I had here that I called molly. Molly was also a Grand Nite Ch.. Mrs. Hittson Bred both of them to Dual Gr. Ch."PR"Clear River Diamond Jim. Before Doll 11 Had pups the Vet found a fast growing Tumor in her and she died shortly afterward and Mrs. Hittson buried her in her yard in Texas. Molly had 1 pup and Mrs. Hittson brought it to me and It made a nice dog. She made Nite Ch. I called her Molly Bee and I buried her here. I kept a male pup out of Doll 1s second litter. I called him Lake. I'll tell his story a little later.

Later the rest of the story.

The Misty river line

Mr. Jerry and Oneal Wheat got Molly from me when she was just a pup. They hunted her and made a coondog out of her. When she was about 5 years old They let me have her back. She was a nice hound from track to tree. Jeremy Purvis hunted her a lot after I got her back. She was the Molly female that I told about a little earlier that went to Mrs. Melanie Hittson's in Texas and Had the one pup. Molly was a good hound and we had a lot of fun with her.

I'm glad you are enjoying the story Mr. Lawrence. Good to hear from you.
