Thanks Jimmy and Scott! Autumn oaks was Rock Stars first hunt i was just testing the water and seeing how she reacted to strange dogs and strange country and she looked like she always does a first and split treed just about every drop. But is there any females from the Rock and Cami cross that can be bought? I can promise that they will be taken care of and hunted hard and pushed in the hunts in every registry! Guys if you got a nice female give Rock a try ive got a male dog that is currently 6th on the reproducers list that i have several guys that are planning on breeding to him and one of the NiteCh females is bred alot like Cami that he wants to breed to Colt and i just got off of the phone with him and i think i got him swayed into breeding to Rock instead im in it for a better bluetick not numbers and i honestly think that would be the better cross. The crazy thing is he has been after me trying to buy Rock Star and i keep telling him no and that is about as far as the conversation went and today work was a little slow and i was looking at Rocks thread and Cami's pedigree and i called him and was like instead buying Rock Star or Breeding to Colt just breed her to Rock. It wouldn't be much different than the Rock and Cami. Cami is directly off of James earl ray and this NiteCh female is a doubled up grandpup to james earl ray with a touch of R.C and Jenny. Any imput on this would be appreciated tell me what you think like i said i can careless about numbers or the reproducers list im striving for the the best bluetick in the country on the end of my lead and i could take anywhere in the country and compete and win at a professional level!!! So everybody and Scott VH tell me what you think you have been at it a long time and have helped this breed tremendously!

Jonah,
I appreciate your confidence and have probably made as many questionable crosses as the ones that had some nice dogs. So I am not sure how much of a contribution I have made. I was glad to see that you won your cast at Autumn Oaks along with Ron Taylors Doc dog (Doc's mother was out of Uncle Pen and was out of a cross we made).
As far as crossing a similar bred female to Cami you never really know until you do it. I have seen some crosses that were similar that never did hold up as good as the ones you were trying to match. You can have two good reproducing dogs that when bred together it just don't work. If it were only that easy. I bred to Rock because I liked his pedigree and figured Randy Arnold had a string of GrNite females behind him. I do believe that the female is at least 50% of a good cross. The other thing I look for is a complete female that you could hunt all week and would not be embarrassed to take her to town on Saturday and compete. Cami was that type of female. I think if you want to be successful you should do your homework and not listen to the Hype of a male or a line of dogs just do what you think is right and live with your decision.

I think she had six pups total. I don't remember the number of each sex. Sally is getting up there in years and something was wrong with her milk. Jimmy bottle fed them from day one. We lost all but one male and one female.
