-- Accuracy (http://forums.ukcdogs.com/showthread.php?threadid=928415679)
I have been reading a thread about a dog that did a real nice job at Walker days , scoring 1700 plus points and 450 circle. From the comments made by other competitors he sounds like a accurate coon treeing machine. Not only did he win but he stomped their guts! Looking at the scores I'm thinking the hound probably scored on 10 trees. 8 with coon seen and 2 that the coon wasn't seen. The 80% "coon seen" dog not only won but absolutely dominated.
Vic Stoll , I agree with every post you have made on this thread. But you did forget to count tracks ending in...... Tile holes , brush piles and under foundations of old barns and corn cribs in your % calculations. Lol.
I think we all know what an accurate dog is. Some of us just use different parameters in gauging it. It's like one fella said " when your dog trees , you grab the gun........

5% slick-coon not seen
15% dens-coon not seen
20% heavy foliage-coon not seen
60% coon seen
Maybe the regional thing you have referred to in past horse piece beating sessions comes somewhat into play, but for around these parts those are some realistic numbers for the counterfeits I pack around.

sure all dogs tree on some dens and all tree on some trees that you can't find the coon because of leaves.
but no, all dogs don't tree on bone empty trees and fly away coon.
