well after a short dry spell in the hunts we got a win last night didn't have enuff to get in the final 4 but did anice job. rocky treed the only coon we scored on and had two circle trees.

Jason congrats on your wins and puttin rocky at the top. Always good to see a Bluedog compete against top competition. I ran last year just enough to lead the breed. Got 260 something dollars for leading the breed and led the state with jiggs a few years back. You will spend way more than u will win. I will never run for another one. It takes a special hound to hold up to the pressure that they are under to stay there. Good luck to you and Rocky. Take care of him because they aren't many out there and they will be gone before ya realize it. We pullin for ya man.

thanks mr ross. I have learned my lesson on this(running breed and state races)believe me!!! rocky is a good one and I jus want to show him off I guess you could say and prove again a blue dog can do it. after this year I will jus be glad to get a thousand won on him in pkc. rocky is still leading the state in acha hope to be at the top when that is over and to finish him out in ukc. it feels good to know you got folks out there pulling for you and not hoping you fail.

got a ? for you where does the money come from if you win the breed or the state. thanks

Money

The breed money comes from all the members that are bluetick men. U mark on your membership renewal what breed u hunt. That money goes into an escrow that goes to the breed winner. It ain't much. We need more bluetick members to pay out more. State is a percentage of the members also
Wish the bluetick breed would come together and help out each other. Too many jealous of one another. Heck I am proud for ya. I know what it takes to get a dog ready and to tell the truth I don't know if I have it in me to do it again. Takes alot of time and patience. Well if I can help in any way let me know. U know your dog when he gets a little bored with it back off and let his mind rest. A competitive dog can break down mentally some can stand more than others. U will know. Proud for ya man. Mr ross I don't know if you knew that your old dealer dog helped train rocky or not. Mac singleton was hunting him for terry Tibbs. I got terry and Mac to hunt rocky for me while I was working out of town Several years ago.

I didn't know that. Ole dealer is 13 now. He still will tree a coon. He was a good one. Well dealer has helped train a few in his life time. I should have finished him to grand but didn't. Did u ever hunt with him?

Yea I went with him and Mac one night. I know they split one time and both had a coon.

Rocky made a nitech in acha last night looked good doing it to. rocky won with 125 plus the other dogs had 100-,75-and 50-. Went pleasure hunt in after the hunt and he had one treed on the outside of a big old den tree. Thanks to my hunting partner for finding both coons.

he wins a his share for sure. when I take him to town im expecting to win. rocky will take last strike almost all the time but what gets me is he will tree the coon behind the other dogs a lot. that don't mean he want get in there deep cause he will. he wins most of the cast cause he is by hisself WITH THE COON.

i wish i knew what kinda of a reproducer he was. maybe one day.

Breeding.

I ruined a few by breeding them. If he was mine I would hunt him and breed him later. All the males I had onced I bred them it changed em. Have heard of folks with studs that it didn't bother but I ain't never been with one. Just my opinion. Jason u have one that don't come along very often so enjoy him. You hear about all these independent blue dogs. I hunt the hunts and haven't seen any. Get him collected and AI you a good gyp and see. That's the only way I would do it. He is yours and you can do what you want to but I have ruined a few. All they wanted to do is hang around the other dogs to see who was ready to play. Good luck with him and when u do breed him to a nice gyp let me know.

Mr perry ,brain sparks was telling me the same thing about I shouldn't breed him the old fashion way but have him collected. I believe that is what I should do don't want to take any chances. Finding good gyps around here isnt easy. I know where a few are but they ain't mine. I have had several gyps over the years but we haven't never seen eye to eye. So I kinda jus quit fooling with them.

rocky tanner that may be the difference in the two,i have seen a few times where rocky would get in a creek bank or a underground spring and bring that sucker out of there. the whole time I think that coon is gonna kill him! lol

I don't think there was anything at all movin last night went to a hunt and rocky never opened then went pleasure hunting after. after he had gone about a mile he finally struck and opened up about 10 times in about 500 yrds and got treed on a tree at the bottom of a bluff the tree ran up and was touching the top of the bluff. never seen a coon but it was 1:30 and I wasn't going to walk him around to the top and turn him loose.

lost another one last night, rocky by hisself with a coon other dogs tree gets circled(slick). next turn loose other dog trees a coon and wins. come on winter.

put the little girl to bed last night and went and turned rocky loose in the back yard for some exercise. well hind site told me not to. he took off and went down the holler and was headed toward the road. here I am stuck at home cause little one is sound asleep. rocky continues toward the road and crosses over I hear him strike acouple more hundred yards he trees. jump in truck run around knock on these people door and go get him. yes he had him. gone a total on 5 mins. I know better and will not do that again.
