Autumn Oaks

I attended my first Autumn Oaks this year. I had a great time. I was amazed to see how big it really is. I went pleasure hunting with King Richard, Wendall Bond, and with Ryan and Allen Frederick. I wont go into much detail but had a great time hunting this these guys. It was quite the experience. Thanks guys.

My Friday night went well. I had a good guide and hunted with some good dogs. I just got beat by the 2013 Black and Tan Champion Stroker Ace. All dogs done a great job and hunted with a great group of guys.

Getting ready to go to my first ever zone hunt next weekend with Boone. We will see what happens.........

Went to one of the those money hunts on Monday and put a little more money on Boone. Beat out three of those walker dogs. May have to start hitting a few more of those hunts. Boone looked good taking a 3rd strike and 1st tree in front of the walkers. He was the only dog making two trees in the one hour hunt. We scored one and couldnt see the last one due to the under brush.

The new year starts the first of October. You should try to hit a bunch of them next year. Boone should do good in them. They can be fun if you have a good dog. Good luck in Flora on Friday and Saturday night. The Va Cartel is counting on you.

One down and three more to go. Boone did all he could last night. He treed the only coon that they saw. The other dogs made 2 slick and 1 circle trees while Boone worked a bad track and put a coon on the end of it. Jared, we are still watching...

Well Richard you are correct in your statement. This was my first year for Autumn Oaks and the Zones so I may need a little guidence from time to time. Maybe I need a book of King Richards competition hunting tips . Boone did a great job last night. The feeling is good at the end of the night when you have two guys handing Walkers dogs congratulating you on a very nice hound and saying you should have one the cast. Sometimes there are advantages to carrying the scorecard with 20 plus years of experience . Maybe I will be there someday . Friday night he did good treeing the only coon and winning my cast.

I had a good time at the hunt and Boone did a great job with the extreme dry conditions. He looked good. The hard work with him in the 80 and 90 degree heat the past few weeks showed in his good performance. You live and learn and I am already looking foward to next year. I like the excitement and great dogs at the event. Its a great measuring stick to see where dog sits in the competition world.

Jared - Boone is the best dog that has ever been on the Hutcheson property in all the years your dad has coon hunted. Keep up the good work and you will someday be rewarded. Boone is a young dog and has a lot of good years ahead of him. You, Garrett and your dad will make it with him someday. Your honesty and integrity will pay off for you. Keep up the good work and keep that laugh of yours echoing through the woods. We are so proud of the man, father and leader you have become in the Coonhunting industry! You and Boone have made your mom and dad very proud! :-) Good Luck as you start this new season!
p.s. - Dad & I do remember the days when you would get soooo embarressed by him talking to strangers! We have noticed there is never a stranger in the coonhunting world with you! LOL

Boone pup

I got to show Fancy(my Boone pup) her first coon tonight. I got some good pictures of her and dad on a coon together. She wasn't real sure about it by herself, but when I brought some backup in to help, she was very interested and barked every breath. I was impressed with her first experience. Not bad for 4 months old. She even got chase it in the field when we turned it loose.

Went to an HTX hunt tonight and finished Boone's HTX title. Man these hunts are a good time.

Boone will also be a performance sire and at least a spring Super Stake sire for 2014. I am getting ready to send the paper work off in the next couple of days.

Thanks for the congrats. Dad is up and moving around pretty good. He even walked to his first tree the other night. It was only about 100 yards away, but he still went and is progressing every day. Has Willow come back in yet . We will be waiting to try it again if you want.😄.

Can't wait

Only 10 mores days till opening night of kill season in Indiana. I'm starting to get really bored. We are on a 14 day break. So no running dogs or training here. 10 more days and counting. May have to go to a hunt in Illinois this weekend just to get the dogs out .

14 day break than that means you have the woods to yourself hunt hard than take a break in 14 days PS you may want to stay out of one county
