I really think this cross will do well. After all, this cross wasn't made to sell pups, this cross was made to get something I'll be proud to hunt in the future.

Lady treed split last night with the coon. This was her first coon by herself at night. Smokey was working a track the other way and got treed over a quarter mile away. He had a coon too.

I love how dark she is. Glad to hear she is doing it the woods as well. Smokey is siring some nice pups and Dave is top notch to deal with too.

Ruby had 8 pups this morning. She lost 1 and has 5 females and 2 males left. If she raises the rest I still have 1 of each available.

Vet said it's hard to tell exact numbers through ultrasound with pups tangled together but was pretty sure he saw at least 6 different heartbeats. Pregnancy confirmed! Only question now is how many.

That's great! Hope she delivers successfully. Try to keep them warm. My Ruby had her pups in her doghouse and ended up losing half of them before I brought them in the house. Not sure if it was from the cold or something else but the four she has left are doing fine now. Good luck!

The "Goodyear blimp" is about to burst! Only a few more days and we see the fruit of the work we've done. I can't wait to see the "fruit" from this great cross. They should be top notch coonhounds.

Today was a big day. Annie had 8 pups. 4 male, 4 female. There are 3 males still available.

The Right Kind

I took my Smokey pup hunting last night for the second time ever. Definitely ready to start her in the woods and hunt her hard. She ran and treed a coon with another dog again last night. Only hunted one drop and they had the coon. Took her once before and she did the same thing. Most natural pup I have ever trained. Smokey is reproducing from what I have seen in my kennel. My pup is off Smokey and a Tige female.

Glad you like her Clay. That has proven to be a great cross. Star is 9 years old and Mark might make the cross again if she stays healthy.

I have a female out of Smokey and Star, she is put up right now in heat. She can tree her own coon. Nice and loud.
